Simon Says... #2

Published Thursday, January 31, 2008 12:39 PM by Sam

A lot of emails are being sent around on a daily basis, some about specifics in regards to the game and then there are also some more quirky ones. Several weeks ago we started a new feature on the Fable 2 development blog called "Simon Says..." where we share some of the emails to the whole team with our community!

From our weekly Fable 2 Dev Report, an email that gets sent around internally on a weekly basis where all the departments involved in Fable 2 tell each other what they've been up to. This is directly from the latest email, John McCormack (you saw him in Video Diary 4) had the following to say:

Art Report

The old man winces as he turns a new page in the Book.. he blows of the dust and tries to make out what is read therein..

Morn 733:... nd the ancient order .f the wacom warriors are bei. .. held bac.. .. .runching wheels .f the E v i l [Evil] Faybell Edwa ..d his Engine of eternal darknes.. ... .. ust fight on, too muc.. .t stake! Th.. lightin.. s..nbearable.. ..e maps are unre.dable.. ... od help us...he horror.. t... orror! Why mu.. .t end like thi..

Morn 784: We entere. th. ..illage. The horror had sprea... or the love of avo and al.. .t...s holy! What have they done to the villagers! Th.. arely have faces... o legs... ome have eyes hoveri.. tside their skulls! We fled..

Morn 865: Theres some...ng wrong with t.e trees here, I swear. When we approach them they se.. .o ..himmer in an orange ugly light an. ..e.. orld seems to slow down to a crawl around us.

Morn 900: In the morn, we make tracks for Great Deer Cross.. ast we heard it had changed bey..d all recog...on... i hope to god we make it...

The old man closes the book and waits another circle till he can stomach its contents again...

We'll end with these two images of a Hobbe.

UPDATE: Artist Stilts (responsible for these two images) says the following about them: "

The latest two renders with the armour are rendered entirely with in-game models and textures, and also use the specular and normal maps . They are rendered in XSI (purely because it's a lot easier and quicker to get the exact pose and camera angle you need).

With regards to more depth - there is certainly a lot more this time around. Infact, I'd go so far to say that this really is the tip of the iceberg :-)"

Bucket as a helmet is a natural hobbys fashion I guess. And for the boot - well, may be theyve just run out of buckets?
