Fable 2 Development

Podcast with Peter and MajorNelson

Published Monday, March 17, 2008 1:41 PM by Sam
If you're not familiar with MajorNelson you're missing out on something. He's working for Microsoft Game Studios (aka Xbox) as a programming director but in his spare time also manages his blog MajorNelson.com. He got about 30 minutes last week to shoot a few questions in the direction of Peter Molyneux, talking about Fable 2, Lionhead and games in general. It's certainly worth listening to as it's loaded with information. Plus there's a nice plug for the entire Lionhead and Fable 2 community (at about 70 minutes).

Chicken kicking? The first time I heard this explanation was on GIGA Games (back than in German free-TV) a couple of weeks before launching the original Fable.

That was a really fascinating interview!

I gotta say thank you to the PM and to the people at Lionhead for actually taking the time to read our comments. Very few boards actually do that and hearing that in the interview put a big smile on my face.

Thanks a lot!

Great Podcast
I finally got a chance to listen to it

Here are some notes
There are three different XBL games from PopCap Games Mages Tower, Wizards Dice, Keystone
If you own all of Bowerstone you become Mayor of Bowerstone
If you own all of Bowerstone and the surronding area you become King of Bowerstone
If you own EVERYTHING you become Emporer of Albion
There will be a Wealth Morph ~ Wealthy can mean wimpy (They mentioned Bill Gates )
There are Romancing Points that you get for doing certain actions
Peter's in game Son Cried at the father's death in the demo and was taken out.
Achievements will require sacrifice.
There will be a Purity and Corruption Scale
Peter Molyneux's first words were clucking because he was raised near a chicken ranch hence he hates chickens and therefore he put the chicken kicking in the game and it will be in Fable 2

ScarfingerINC you go down to where it give you the options of how to listen to it and click the MP3 option and that gives you it through windows media.

Its interesting to hear there is still something to come with co-op, online co-op perhaps.
