Fable 2 Development

Your own unique hero

Published Friday, September 05, 2008 11:51 AM by Sam

As you know everyone starts in Fable II as either a little boy or a little girl and will grow up to adulthood.

You will change visually to reflect your choices and actions in the world of Albion but it doesn't end there...we now have so much more clothing (think masks, hats, …) all of which can be dyed (in pretty much any color), plus we have make-up, jewelry, hairstyles and facial hair plus all the many different morphs (like strength, fatness, skin color etc...) which will mean that each hero will be very unique.  Taking every single thing into account that will influence what you look like, our programmers calculated a number that goes well and truly into the billions.

Here is a selection of screenshots to demonstrate just that.

Can you guys release the info regarding every 'section' you can have clothes on? Like in Fable you could only do head, torso, hands, legs, and feet. Also, does the first pic confirm dyed hair or is that a morph? The pics look great, BTW. NICE JOBBBB!

cool, cool.  I heard somewhere that you can morph your character's face as well (Like in oblivion).  I have a hard time keeping up with ALL of the features because of a family I must provide for Stick out tongue [:P] so I apologize if this is old news.

P.S. Sam, I finally saw that video with you at PAX talking about how you learned what "tight" means.  When used in a sentence like "This game is tight!" it is like saying "this game is cool!"  and if your still confused, it is like saying "This game is amazing!"  It is just slang that caught on long ago to describe how much you like something.

The white woman looks awsome, she looks nothing like the girl you start with, nor any other women LH showed use till now. How can you control the face features?
Will ther be a way to control them at all or will they too be controled though the gameplay?

Man, I can't wait to get my fingers on that game.

So I played the first Fable, best game everrrRRR. But I was pretty bummed that I couldnt create a black guy in the game. lol. Seriously. I wanted to create MYSELF in the game as much as possible (which I did for the most part) but the only thing that didnt quite match about my character was the skin color. Is this going to be another issue in the upcoming title?

Well, it looks like you can get quite a brown tan by the sun, but it seems like you aren't supposed to change your skin color. I'm not sure, but as far I know you start have to start as the known boy or a girl looking very similiar (as long they're in the childhood-tutorial) and both of them seem to kaukasian-kaukian and not michael-jackson-kaukasian...

Well, I disagree with every hero looking very unique, after browsing the forums I find that most people are all "OMG I WANNA BE PIRATE!!!" or "I WANNA HAVE BLACK <insert clothing here>" or something along those lines. Skin color and gender may be different, but I have a feeling that the majority of the people that play Fable 2 will have something black or piratey or both.
