We nearly left without Peter...

Published Wednesday, September 17, 2008 11:55 PM by Sam

On Tuesday we nearly left Guildford town without Peter! GC Asia is taking place this week in Singapore and so the taxi comes, picks up Cathy, it then picks up me and as we're driving towards Heathrow, it turned out we had to also go and pick up Peter from his place! Oooops! We nearly left without the star of the show; that would have been disaster.

Arriving in Singapore the first thing that hits you is the temperature. The second thing is the bullets. Only kidding! This place is very clean and people are incredibly friendly. I'm thinking of staying here. I can do community management from anywhere in the world, can't I? Only kidding! But certainly a thought that will linger in the back of my mind for a while...

Then last night we had a brief meeting with the Microsoft and Xbox360 people from the area, and also went to the VIP reception of the GC Asia event. Today is the big day: press, public demonstrations and most importantly a keynote speech for Peter (where I do the playing of the game in the background).

All of you will now (hopefully) also have read some (or even all?) of the coverage that came out of the PR trip to the USA. If not may I suggest you make a move to our forums as there's bound to be a gazillion of topics linking to all the different previews. At some stage I'll make a nice list of it, because everyone likes a G o o d [Good] list.

A slight delay with Video Diary 7, Andy (my editor who will be doing the cleaning up, final mixing and shading) has had some technical issues so we're looking at a couple of extra days.

Next weekend the F1 is taking place here in Singapore, the racetrack is 10 metres from the hotel! Such a shame I'm going to miss it...

I think leaving your boss would have gained you some E v i l [Evil] reputation Sam...  Do i see some horns there?  Can we get an idea as to how many bugs/glitches are left?  I recall hearing a countdown of things being fixed in a video a while back.  Is it all fixed and ready to be distributed or is there more to work on?  Tell Andy he's going to sit in timeout if he doesn't fix those technical issues soon!  I think all of us are salivating Smily [:)]

Almost left Peter???!!! That is too funny, you must have been all in a rush and excited/nervous about Singapore. Did he laugh at you for it? To bad about the video diary, I'm anxiously waiting.

I would say that leaving Peter Molyneux in Guildford would be similar to leaving your pants on the floor when you leave the house.

But anyway, Andy! Get that stuff cleaned up, mixed, and shaded my man! I can't wait much longer haha.

That's a bummer to hear about the delay.  Can we get a confirmation that you are still planning 3 diaries (including this one) before release?  I mean, keep in mind, you have about... Oh... 32 days 7 hours and 34 minutes to the second from the time of this post to finish them. (can you really believe it is so close?!)  Stick out tongue [:P]

Oh. I like that ya'll are doing so many interviews and Peter Molyneux being a real sport on promoting his game. I check this site everyday. I just joined the forum today. I love that ya'll are always putting things up for us to read and see, and sharing your experiences and making videos. It's been wonderful.

The newest News on the FABLE 2 page is why I joined today. There's so much that I can't even finish today or yesterday. I'll have plenty to feast my eyes on till the next news, blogs, and video. This is fantastic. I honestly haven't seen coverage like this from other companies. It's totally sweet.

Thanks for letting us follow your development and making such an awesome game. I'm looking forward to it. I'm buying an xbox 360 solely for this game.

hehe. speaking of buying a 360 for the sole purpose of playing Fable 2, did anyone else in here buy their 360 when it launched simply because of this game? I've had my 360 for a few years now and I have yet to find a 360 exclusive game that makes me glad I bought the 360. It was all done in anticipation of Fable 2, and I don't think it will disappoint.

Darn! I was there but I missed it (I came about 20 minutes early for Peter's speech) but my friends weren't delegates, so I decided to stay with them in the public hall one floor up. Overall I think the event was fun. Wish I missed it. And in Singapore you can't chew gum. AT ALL. Singapore's rules and laws are iron, littering, eating/drinking/bringing of anything flammable in the trains, chewing gum, j-walking and lots more... The trick is not to get caught Wink [;)].
