well.....hey, thanks, Sam, for clearing that up.  We may not get the figure, cards, or a fancy box, but at lest the LE dropped $10 here in the states and we still get the bonus DVD and the in-game content.  so, I guess all is not lost.

gamestpot is out to make peter look bad. their saying it as if peter took out the online feature, but luckily microsoft is releasing a patch to make up for peters mistake... that is some total BS gamestop really really sux... i never relied on them in the first place so that was just a confirmation on their part telling me not to visit their site. here is an excerpt from that BS of an article

Hey, at least there won't be anymore cuts in the LCE, you'll still get the Fate Cards, for FREE if I might add, LH is doing their best to get the online co-op out for everyone, besides, you'll still be able to chat and trade, it's only a week.

Um... With the LE announcement, you guys said all of the Video Diaries would be on it.  Plus, I heard about soundtrack samples way before this thing with GAME.  Why would we make it up out of nothing?

I got the email from GAME. I have used GAME for years and this is the first time I have used them that they have messed up.

It's not just GAME. Zavvi and HMV both have the following in their descriptions for Fable 2 LCE:

Seems to be some confusion with the British companies!

I believe the term you've been searching for, Sam, is "never-before-seen".
As long as the LCE buyers still get the extra in-game content (extra as in ONLY the LCE buyers get it) I'm content.

I've cancelled my pre-order of the LE. I can do without the Hobbe figure and the cards (although I really liked those), but the fact you don't even get the box is just ridiculous.

Everyone can get the cards now, wether they payed for the LE or not. The extra content isn't enough to pay more money for in my view.

Very disappointed.

anytime the media find their grubby hands on even RUMORS they will publish them so that they can get attention.  People will count on their sites for information and rumors based on their games even if the rumors arent true.  Its the same reason people watch CNN..  or why people will log onto the internet and engage in polls where every option basically comes down to "I can guess what will happen but i really dont know"

Ok, I'm slightly confused here about the promo code. And yes, I know we can't use it 'till the sixth.

But does it work for the actual game soundtrack or for the collection of six songs? Because if it's for the collection of six songs, you can actually go and download that now, which would make the code useless.

And yes, I also know the soundtrack isn't out 'till the 21st but maybe that promo code gets us the soundtrack early?

So if i payed $80 for the LE about 3-4 weeks ago, and then the price drops, do i get $10 back when i pick up fable or do i get some little we will give you 10 dollars on a gift card sorta thing?

Sam, I realise that the extra things such as the hobbe and the tin case are not coming with the LCE anymore, but is there NO possible way that at least the case could be made available for pick up from retailers at a later date?

Ok. Game frome spain didn't tell us nothig about price drop and content shortage. Also they don't sent the pub promotional codes. I am waitng now for a two mounts after making my reserve this codes. I think that is messing more with us. Microsoft Spain isn't doing it well in all cases. I think Microsoft shoud change a lot of things here in spain.

I hope this comes to ears of Microsoft and Lion Head.

Why are they messing up like this, why i can't play the pub games before relase after reserving mi CE of Fable 2 like the rest of people.

There's a possibility that this confusion hasn't been cause by Microsoft, Lionhead, or any of the UK high street retailers. There is a company called Gem who do the UK distributions of Xbox games and hardware (and subsiquently pass on the secs for various editions etc. to retailers), they have been known to screw up in the past to similar effect.

So don't go burning your local game to the ground just yet. As for America, well I imagine something smilar has occurred.

Gamestop called my cell telling me that all in game content, hubbe figuren and bonuse dvds would not be with the game.

I wish everyone would take a small laxative and stop straining all those testy muscles around their bowels and think for a moment.

Lionhead never stated that video diaries would be included in the LCE set.  Never.  If you go back and look up the first blog where the LCE was announced, and look at the content that was said to be there, video diaries were not there.  

Secondly,
Stop blaming Lionhead for problems with manufacturing.  They've spent more than 3 years of blood sweat and tears to develop this game, and it's not their fault the off-shore manufacturers can't handle the pressure!  So get the heck over it, and stop blaming people who have nothing to do with the problem.

Thirdly,
Gamestop's phone call said the LCE would no longer include the fate cards, hobbe figurine, or specially made box.  They did NOT say that the bonus DVD (singular) would be removed.  Stop paraphrasing and doing it wrong.  Learn to listen and learn to speak.

Finally,
You should really all cut Sam the the development team a break.  To all those IDIOTS out there who are slamming Lionhead again and again for each of these unforeseen complications, go choke on some very unpleasant bodily excretions.  If you don't want to play the game, and if your loyalty to Lionhead is that narrow and conditional, then get the hell out of these forums and never come back.  This is a community website for FANS of the game, and for supporters of the company.

I appreciate the time Sam takes to let us know what is going on all the time, Lionhead is one of the best developers in the world. This game will be worth my money and i look forward to it. It may have a couple items less in the CE that is not in Lionheads control but i don't care. The game will be amazing and i can't wait to play this masterpiece.

Who comes up with stuff? "real morons that's who" and I would have liked the album with the Limited edtion but that will not happen. Wow I just realized something the game Prey had a free album with it's limited edition so how could Lionhead that has fanbase not do it? A glance occasionally at XBOX 360 news site, and saw an article entitled "Further Fable CE cuts!"  I set up an account there and linked to this post here.  Thanks for the update, Sam.  Really appreciate being up to date about this information.

I must say, I'm terribly excited for the Fable 2 release.  The more I read/see, the more I want the game.  Every interview with Peter Molyneux seems to unveil another exciting part for Fable.

The announcement for a lack of Live Co-op at launch really didn't seem to me as big a deal as others say.  It happens; better a working system than a buggy one.  Besides, I probably wouldn't even use it until a week into the game.

Same goes for the LCE.  Admittedly, I didn't buy it, but it doesn't change a whole lot.  That's probably why I didn't buy the LCE though -- no huge selling point for me personally.  Stuff happens!  I can totally understand being upset (I'd probably downgrade to the regular edition).  It's not Lionhead's fault, though, and heck, it might not even be Microsoft.  They probably turned turned around to the manufacturers and gave some actual numbers.  Manufacturers probably then said, "Hey, we can't match that quantity."  And rather than some people getting the LCE bonuses, and some not receiving it, they simply didn't do it.  This day in age, sending the missing features at a later date would be purely chaotic.  Not as easy as some make it out to be!  It really is the fairest choice.

Now I need to request the 21st off from work, and try to see if I can skip any classes...

Should have just packed in the whole soundtrack(dont just give a few songs away) inside the case, and gotten one of those leftover Gears of war metal cases and printed Fable 2 over it.

Well, all I know is that EB Games will not be giving out the Hobbe Figurine and the Fate Cards but that's no problem. I was only really after the DLC and the game of course. lol, oh well, thanks for posting this blog Sam

While I'm a little upset about the loss of the special case I'm more worried about the price change and the downloadable content. BestBuy.com still hasn't changed their price, I left a message on their forums so hopefully that will be resolved but no guarantees.
All I really want from you guys at LE is for the DC to be exclusive to the LE version (that includes no gifting), I'd also like to see you contact the various stores and try to get them to change the price, and that you do your best to make this game everything you've envisioned and more...

I'm still wondering what the LCE will have that is exclusive to those purchasers. Are we guaranteed that the items we paid for ahead of time will remain exclusive to us?

It would be nice to allow people to get the missing items later based on LCE code via live. They can send it to the person's address that is associated with the live account as soon as they get confirmation via logging in with Fable2.

Sure it may be more work but the folks paying the money for something they expected to get did their part. Also if you figure how many people did this, and how much the companies make in interest while sitting on that cash that hasn't been spent by the people...

At any rate, LH and MS should remember which manufacturers end up kicking them in the nuts and never do business with them. Or better yet, rather than outsourcing the jobs, keep them in non-third-world countries. I know, it may dip into the insane profits but what would hurt more? Losing a fanbase or losing a few bucks to quality operations?

At any rate, I still keep getting corrupted files in the music download that is NOT-exclusive. This doesn't make up for missing items, it just gives a bonus to those that didn't buy the LCE.

If anyone knows the answer about the chances of things being or remaining exclusive permanently, please let me know.

Would be nice for something to be worked out where the original LE buyers get what was actually promised to us, no matter what the method.  No, i take that back.  It wouldn't be nice, it would be nothing, because that is what should be done.  It would be NICE if something extra came due to the BS that we put up with, but that won't happen.  LH or M$ could care less whether or not we get what was promised, because they know no matter what crap they pull we're still gonna pay.

OK, I don't know what's going on with the fixes but refer to my(cecil465) posts on Lionhead for the problems.  I dropped $70 on this game and was hoping for a 10/10.  It is a 10/10 with 10/10 problems.  Sam(my name's Sam too, bada$$) this is a great job on probably the best game I'll play for a while, just use your expertise to fix a few problems for us(I know I am not near a point in being able to fix them).
You guys rock, I still love Lionhead.  Just take a little more time, I know you have deadlines but the general public would rather wait a year for a 10/10 than get a game we've been looking forward to for so long and be dissapointed.

Looking past the glitches, great job.
