It's currently snowing again down in Surrey, Guildford. People speak of the worst snow that's fallen in around twenty years. I wouldn't know, I've only been in this country for five years. On Monday the studio was pretty much closed, everything is still white and with today's snow I anticipate no one will be able to leave and we'll all have to sleep in the office overnight. The team often starts a snowball fight (great fun) and the number of snowmen and -women outside the office must be setting a new record.
The Fable team is still working. On what, I cannot say but it's bound to be announced at some stage in the future. You might also have noticed we're hiring like crazy at Lionhead so if you know someone with the right skills who's looking for a job, please refer them. You could end up with a friend who's working on the next big thing to come out of our studio!
Peter especially has been very busy, we're now focusing on two things at the time - add to that the general managing of the studio and you can see why it's a right pain to try and get a hold of him.
If you're hungry for some interesting reading on Fable II then I would like to suggest this article on Brainy Gamer (The world according to Molyneux) and even Follow the Golden Path : Man Bytes Blog. Both articles are well written and while you might not agree with (all) points made, it most certainly is a mature conversation about videogames (and more specifically Fable II) giving the reader serious food for thought.
Especially the first point made on The Brainy Gamer "A world that stimulates my imagination" struck a few cords with me. I'm currently well into Fallout 3 (which I started playing on Sunday) and the number of Ghouls I met in my sleep is starting to get worrying. Michael goes on: "Molyneux's Albion is a sumptuous and stylized visual feast that somehow manages to make sense of all its parts. It makes no effort to logically explain why traveling bards, rifles, and magical energy swords all belong in this world, but they do. Albion is a fun (and often funny) place to be, but it also contains a dark side that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. I've had two dreams set in Albion since I started playing Fable 2, so I guess I can safely say: imagination stimulated."
It's this point that leads me to my question of the day: "What is the weirdest dream you ever had about Fable or Fable II?" By answering (post in the comments), you could be winning a code to download the Knothole Island DLC for Fable II PLUS another code for the Premium Knothole Island NXE theme! Be sure your comment is posted before Sunday 8th February 2008 12:00 hours GMT and you could be one of ten lucky winners.
If you can't wait until Sunday then here are 10 codes for the theme already.
Here are also another twenty codes for the Fable II Pub Games!
