Email notification always comes way too late.. and even though I look here often, it´s never often enough.

Not being whiny here, but I do think the handing out free codes is pretty lame. Either don´t hand any out, or just make the pub games free for anyone. What is the point of this? You hand out hundreds of free codes, why not just make it all for free?

It´s not that I really need one (have the completionist achievement through a friend) but figured might as well try to get one.

I'll never get here in time and this may just be too much hassle and frustration for a promotional game that should have been free anyway.
Not being able to get a completionist achievement because I didn't pay extra for content that's already included in the game is just so much fun! (I pre-ordered, but we didn't get pre-order codes in my country)

Love the game to death, but this is really weak, Lionhead.

Another time no luck.
This is NOT a method.First charging your costumers for an Arcade game, which is here in Europe fairly overpriced (If i would pay for this game i am charged around 40 % more than any Gamer from North America would have to pay(councealed by MS-points)) .But if I want all achievments i must pay for it.Now i think perhaps LH will hand the codes out as a prize-->wrong again.Then i think you could use the email notification only to discover that the system will warn me first if the magic is done.An even if i would be on time:Typing with the ms-software keyboard is hell!!Even if you do it by the website it is hell.Let me make your guys a prophecy:

One thing gets really clear Lionheads attitude towards morals about money/service
Winning Ingame items with Pub-Games was the end of a great gamestudio but i think thats part of being "MS-certified"

centerart - I have to agree with you. I think it sucks that LH are doling out pub games keys to cover their bums because they mistakenly decided to try to screw as much money out of achievement lovers as possible.
Surely Microsoft should rejig the achievements TCRs so that all achievements in a game can be achieved if you only own that game? Wouldn't that be a lot fairer?
If developers have to ensure that their games are playable and *completable* on any xbox with any set up that surely should include being able to obtain all the achievements in the game?

Sucks to have missed out but I wonder if this is the fairest method. When I first seen the entry their were 14 views after half an hour, have to admit I could have been a bit quicker but there was plenty of chance for folks to have grabbed one on two accounts. I think the comment lottery method is a lot fairer than the frantic race.

It would be nice to change the achievements, especially since items are limited. Trading for them isn't as far fetched as some of the online achievements on something Gears 1 but still I think along with the ultra rare boots/gloves this sort of thing encourages duping. (any chance of shifting the tart/bandit boots and gloves to vendors in patch? pretty please!)

By the way if there is a comment lottery on this batch then sign me up!

after seeing 100s of dissappointed gamers making comments about getting a code, i think i will wait to buy Fable 2 or any other game from LH until i know if LH is willing to pack the missing items into the game by patch.Otherwise i will support other studios with a buy.

I mean seriously, the pup games are on xbl to download, just grab up some MS points and buy them, it's under the arcade games section, NOT game add ons for those of you who think they're off the market. seriously if your that desparate then spend 10 dollars on them. yes, I am one of the people here looking for pub game codes, but once i'm working and getting a paycheck I'm not going to be pining for codes anymore, i'll buy them, like a regular human does. I have other game content, like the limited editon stuff, but no pub games, and I'm waiting, I can enjoy the game without having some dumb feature that I don't like, I want the pub games for items, that's all, but I'm in no rush, I come late I get no code, I go back to whatever it is I'm doing, this is the first time I've commented and only cause you people make me crazy, you're so dumb, seriously, 10 dollars and you wont have to come here again.

Desarial: The point is I'm pretty sure there's a rule in place that says you can't charge money for achievement points. Since certain achievements require the Pub Games from the arcade, anyone who wants all 1000 points from Fable II either has to wait for a free code, or shell out the cash. See where I'm going with this? Why should we have to pay to get what should be included in the original purchase price?

Umm... correct me if I'm wrong... but aren't those achievements for the in game version of the Pub Games?
Oh, and someone should let the makers of Beautiful Katamari know. One of their achievements requires that you have a downloaded map. Which you have to pay for.

I've got to agree about this whole releasing of codes way that it is not totally the best way. I think the gamer tag idea is a great way. i check every day several times and i always end up missing them.
why didn't they make it so that if you played the demo for pub games that you could get the completion.

I thoroughly enjoyed that review. I was just reading about Fable II in this months Game Informer and it got a 9.25 Woot! job guys...this has seriously became my favorite game.

I kind of like the idea of first come first serve with the codes. It's like Black Friday on Lionhead forums..everyday. Except there aren't rabid people trying to trample you. =[

Oh really? Tell me how someone without XBL and without friends playing Fable II are to achieve The Completionist without Pub Games? Or, in fact, how they are going to get Pub Games without XBL? You HAVE to have XBL. And really, that sucks.

Actually, if MS policy is indeed that you have to be able to get 1000 gamerscore from a single game without buying extra content, than most games for XboX 360 don't meet these requirements, as a lot of the achievements are connected with Live play (e.g. score 1000 headshots in a ranked match) , which could be conceived as 'buying extra content', because you pay for XBL, thus you are buying the ability to get certain achievements.

Though I must say I dislike the idea of having to pay for a 1000gp score (or at least meet someone who has), but don't go telling this guy how he should hand out the FREE codes because you didn't get one.

@ Unbrained: Not at all, I do love Fable 2, which is why I want to get the 1000 points. However, I'm not going to pay 10 dollars for the pub games as I don't play them often in game, I'm certainly not going to play them at all out of game. The only reason I would play them would be to get the couple of items needed for the Completionist Achievements and such. So if anyone would like to contact me and sell me the books for these, I'd happily discuss that as well. If not though, then I'm still code dependant.
