State of our play

Published Friday, January 18, 2008 2:57 PM by Sam

Another Friday normally means another update from me and indeed, today doesn't look to be any different!

You might know that next month (18th-22nd February) the Game Developer Conference is taking place in San Francisco. Peter Molyneux will also be at the show and he's talking at several sessions; "Are Games Essentially Superficial? Exploring the Positive Impact Model of Design" and "FABLE 2 –The Big Three Features Revealed".

The description of the latter session reads; "Peter Molyneux's stated ambition as a designer is to make FABLE 2 a landmark game. In order to achieve this three big design features have been added. The inspiration and rational behind these features will be discussed along with their evolution throughout the development process. The wider context of their impact and influence on the RPG genre with also be examined as the ambition is also to evolve the genre itself. The talk will be supported by retrospective videos as well as live game examples."

If any of you guys and gals reading this blog entry are also attending the event please drop me a message (leave it in the comments) - as I'll be down in San Francisco myself, reporting on the show, filming a lot of things and obviously meeting and greeting a lot of other people as well.

Some kind soul pointed out this movie on YouTube - it's basically identical to our very own Lionhead Video Diary Episode Four with the small difference being that this one is subtitled in German! Now that is what I call some serious sh*t! I'm well impressed.

And finally I'd like to draw your attention to this "The Last Rites "Win an Xbox 360" Contest" by kuroken the TMOA Radio Host. You can actually win an Xbox360! Again, I'm well impressed. If we still had reputation on this site, kuroken would now be skyrocketing up to Highest Karma.

That great however i was just wondering if you thinking of doing anything in Britain, preferably in Newcastle. Or even Europe would be G o o d [Good]. Anything? Ahh well. To be fair most games are made in America. Have fun.
