    O the Ocean Production Thread

Meet O the Oceanographer..a dreamer.. a visionary..an oceanographer.   His adventures are coming soon (though, soon is a relative term) and will star Kwistufa as O, Norriefpb and Mrsthebiz as well as Rileyman, GoofParade and myself.

Ive scripted, recieved all the voices (which are all together wonderful I must say) and Im about 40% through AMM though its not progressing as fast as previous projects.  This will be my first actiony adventure and theres a lot of overlays going on.  Motivation is more an issue than  usual but it will happen.

    More as the feeling strikes.

Re: O the Ocean Production Thread

Well I only release tidbits of info when Im soused so...O the Ocean is a flick about 2 subjects that have been near and dear to my heart over the course of time.  One is oceanography and the other is World's Fairs.

As a wee little man I was intent upon becoming a great oceanographer but my fear of drowning and lack of G o o d [Good] swimmimg skills quickly put an end to this dream.  Still I used to love looking at deep sea exploration books as a child.

A bit more recently I have relaized how badass Worlds Fairs are in their ability to shape a society (Read the White City), a city or just a to promote some junk food fad.  As a wee lad again I was able to attend the Nashville  World's Fair of which I remember little other than purchasing an egg cup from a hall of china (or something to that extent).  That little wooden egg cup sat in my moms china cabinet (wow Im dated) for many years.

Anywho..a conundrum.  Long ago, a famous certain someone died at an exposition.  He made his way into my script and I created a rather effective little scene to work his death into my movie...

And then wikipedia supplied me with the copyright free image of the actual room where this man dies complete with an X where he was shot.  This is the kind of little thing that really gets me proverbially off.  Observe:

So do I go with what works better (red drapes actually looks better in the scene) or what is infinitely cooler in this situation (based upon history).  I think its an obvious answer.  So why am I even drafting the question you ask?  Im drunk and wanted to post so sue me...

Re: O the Ocean Production Thread

Well as screenies go....this one is the end credits using an overlay and Rileyman's scrolling creds tutorial.  The interesting part is the picture which is of a leafy sea dragon.  Slightly bigger than sea horses, parts of their body resemble underwater foiliage to camoflage them from predators.  Males carry the eggs on their tales and apparently they have only spawned in captivity 3 times.  The Ga. aquarium has successfully had some mating going on so thats G o o d [Good] times.  One day I will have to go to my old hometown's aquarium.  When I lived there I always had to make a road trip to Chattanooga to the aquarium..which I did many times (I love aquariums as you dont have to risk drowning to look at the fish).  Also happened to catch an incredibly awesome redneck monster truck show there (in Chattanooga) one particular instance.  The Eradicator almost ran over his crew chief.  But thats a story for another movie.

O the Ocean is progressing and I would calculate AMM as 80% done with a possible late July release.  I've picked some prospective music (JDF150 and StokeStudios at this point) and theres some really G o o d [Good] highlight performaces in the VO department.  I think the end result is going to be a lot of fun.  More Later.

Ive managed a G o o d [Good] bit more progress and yes..I think I see a light at the end of the AMM tunnel.  Im hoping real hard for a late July release.

Anyway heres a little peek at one of my favorite scenes Ive concocted.  Its a little ode to a scene in Joe vs The Volcano (the rising moon on the ocean) and a particular scene from Jaws (the shooting star).    It may not look like much here but hey, I like it.  As a side note the whole thing almost got out of hand as I contemplated animating the constellations into a little skit but I'd like to complete this this century so I decided against it.

I swear, your films have almost as many references as an episode of Family Guy. But that's a G o o d [Good] thing.I likes the sound of progress. I await the final product!

O the horror.  5 minutes of what will eventually end up around 15 have been edited (twice) and things are looking quite nice but alas...it looks like its back to AMM for me.  Dont pass go, no 200 vcs for me.  Rileyman's question constantly echoing in my ears....yea, yea, To TMO MF.  O the frustration.  It should be released this month if I have any luck left in my bag.  Wanna screanie?  Here ya go.
