    B.C.?

I heard about this game from my cousin some years ago and he was really excited about it(so was I after I really learned about it). The last thing I heard it was canceled. Is it still going to come out or is it dead for G o o d [Good]? If a Dev. reads this maybe you can tell me.

I didn't even know Lionhead was developing it until like 5 mins ago, mostly cuz I didnt know any developers back when I first heard about it.

    Re: B.C.?

I came here just to ask a similar question, I remember reading up about B.C and looking at all the screen shots of the game, I was so hyped for it but then they canceled it... well actually I heard they haven't actually canceled it but have only put it on hold, I think they could really do something amazing with this game now we have the 360.

So I would also like to know what the deal with this game is because I would really like to finally play it, and there are hardly any games like this out now at the moment anyway so I think it could do really well.

    Re: B.C.?

I just read an artical where PM said its possible they could put it back into development but its different than what people perceived it to be or something like that. So I don't know I'm excited about F2 and Project X when it comes out, which I hope is in maybe a year or something seeing as they've been working on it for 6years(supposedly)

    B.C. Looked feeeeekin sweet!

I remember wanting this game so badly... all my friends was hyped up talking about the next Halo game, but i was more excited about this... I showed them screenshots etc and then soon all of us couldnt wait for this game to be released... When i heard it was stopped we couldnt believe it... it looked so cool!

If it was to be continued for 360... that would be EPIC!! Especially if it had multiplayer, tribe vs tribe... or your able to enter your friends game and go hunting with 'em. This game really could be something special... and i dont think theres any other game quite like it. the only other game i can think of that would even resemble B.C is Turok 1... and it sucked balls, when i got the game i wanted to fight dinosaurs and try to survive in a prehestoric world, at first it was sweet, then it turned into some crappy lizard man FPS. Turok 2 sucked bigger balls by having futuristic space men with lazers and stuff... B.C though, would have been AMAZING.

Looking at the gameplay videos, I could have spent hours exploring and not even get bored. I mean... Fighting T-Rex's with flaming arrows? How epic would that be!? LIONHEAD!!! BRING B.C. BACK!!!!! You know you wanna =P

    Re: B.C.?

I agree. That game was number 1 on my list... I think I even wanted to more so than Warcraft 3 or WoW... or Halo... it looked so inspiring and I was so upset when they canceled it.
I'm thinking part of the reason they canceled it was because there wasn't enough hype for it based on the amount of work that was going into it.  But now that Lionhead is becoming more renown (because of Fable 2 and Microsoft), maybe that wouldn't be an issue. Smily [:)]
Lionhead has always made incredibly unique and innovative games that go far beyond anything I have played before.  BC would have been a fine addition to it.  The only downside to Lionhead games is that they don't feel complete, with the exception of Fable 2 which I would give a 10/10 for the content that was released with the game (A few small things I'd like with updates but that's beside the point).
So anyways, if BC is done as well as Fable 2 was, and with Microsoft's funding into advertisements... I'm sure it would fly off the shelves!  Lets cross our fingers. Big Smile [:D]

I would like to see them make BC also. I had more interest in BC than Fable or any of their other games.

    Re: B.C.?

I have to agree, I love LH and all their games (really enjoying Fable 2 right now), but B.C. really had me excited. I've always been a bit of a dinosaur geek even now, so the idea of having a tribe in a big world fighting dinosaurs and E v i l [Evil] simian tribes sounded amazing. I remember seeing all the concept art, videos, screenshots, and being a part of the forums (Intrepid Games back then) and hearing PM saying it would be the bloodiest game ever made ( we love you PM Stick out tongue [:P] ).

Not to mention they already had announced a planned sequel/add-on to allow online play over xbox live.

To this day I still scrounge the net for any info on it at all including interviews etc. I know its still on the dev's minds since there is still a surprising amount of interest in it and I know I heard an interview where PM said he was surprised people were still talking about it (but didn't go much further).

Anyways, LH we love you lots, and I really hope you guys can get B.C. made sometime in the future, because I know lots of people who would love it ( I know it would shoot to my fav game of all time). *crosses fingers and waits*

You basically said everything I wanted to. There haven't been many games that I had my hopes up for like I did with B.C.

Well I saw this B.C. thread and just couldn't help it, I had to post in it.  As I've said in the past B.C. was my most anticipated game ever.  I looked forward to it much more than I ever did Halo, Gears, Fable, etc....  Bring it back or atleast send me the demo you guys used to show it off Smily [:)]

BRING BC BACK!!!! Do you want B.C. back also?? If so sign the petition because I'd like to see just how many people are with me.

Maybe the real reason why they cancelled it was because some angry employee wiped their hard drives during the weekend and then lionhead covered it up. Stick out tongue [:P]

    Re: B.C.?

Well, straight from the Lion's mouth tonight in the USA interview at GDC, they actually asked the question I posted on their website (haha I feel so honored) about B.C. (under one of my other monikers: Korushi, in case you were wondering).

From what I could tell it seems as though that while not currently being worked on or anything, it definitely is still on the mind of PM and others at Lionhead, which is always a G o o d [Good] thing.

Haha and in case you were wondering, since Peter mentioned it, I actually was more interested in simulated ecosystem and dinosaurs rather than the pools of blood. Though both are cool Stick out tongue [:P]

Could you give a link please?  Out of any game they've ever worked on, BC sounded like the most intriguing of them all.  I do hope they bring it back...

And I'm sure other people have asked your question on these forums. Stick out tongue [:P]

    Re: B.C.?

First of all, I came here just because of this game!Big Smile [:D]

When you look at all the comments all around the internet... gamespot, youtube, gamers forums, etc.... you really have to wonder what's stoping Lionhead to create this game?

It would be awesome, and a great hit, just look at all the positive feedback and the game was never released.
I mean, just think about it... back then, the game was being created for Xbox, and it looked AMAZING!! It completely blew every PS2 game out of the water, graphics were amazing, and the idea was so G o o d [Good] that everyone whoever heard about the game wanted to have it.
And looking back on Lionhead's history, and games like Fable and Black & White, I really doubt that game would be a failure.

Just imagine that game with all of the X360 possibilities!
Imagine dark, thick forrest, rain pouring down from the sky that's being thorn up by thunder and lightning, you're quietly sneaking among the bushes and trees, trying desperately to get to safety of your cave, and hoping that carnivores are far away... and just when you think you could get to safety, a gigantic t-rex head emerges from the nigh with a deafening roar, and you begin your race for life, trying to outsmart the great lizard!
Or imagine you and your tribe, planning how to bring down a great mammoth in order to secure your family's safe winter...
Discovering fire and fighting off a strong and agile sabertooth...

And when you finish the main story, you get to roam around your world endlessly, hunting for food, fighting to survive and exploring every part of prehistoric world... maybe even discovering the wheel?

Man, I hope they deside to make the game after allBig Smile [:D]

    Re: B.C.?

I am totally inclined to agree with you.

BC is now the only reason I check back to these forums... Fable is being over-used even though it can be fun.  If they keep focusing the attention on Fable, it probably wont last much longer because it'll get old... and they will have to create a new series, BC! Smily [:)]

This should bring back nice memories for some of you.Smily [:)] Here's a few links to archive.com of the Intrepid Games website from 2003.  I just chose a date at random, some links still work, although I've linked to most of the interesting stuff below.  Archive.com can be slow to load, at least for me, so give it a little while.

    Front page

    Who Intrepid were

Page explaining what BC was going to be about.

Staff interviews, including what they most liked about BC.  I wonder if these guys still work at Lionhead.

    Screenshots and wallpapers.

and finally, the BC section of the Lionhead forum.  You can't enter it, but I thought it would be nice to post for old times sake.

Some G o o d [Good] memories of that time, I was looking forward to BC so much!  One day perhaps...Wink [;)]
