Re: PC version of Fable 2 confirmed for February, should we buy the DL content or wait ?
All that news is from the same source, "gamona" which frankly I havent even heard of before...
It isnt confirmed till Lionhead *says* it is confirmed, then we can go "Woo"
Till then it is just speculation... oh and "Citing "reliable sources," German site Gamona claims to have received word that Fable II is in development for the PC and might arrive as early as Feb. 2009."
Just because it says might arrive in feb doesnt mean its so... when was the last time a lionhead game released at the specuated time?

Re: PC version of Fable 2 confirmed for February, should we buy the DL content or wait ?
Lionhead never denied a PC version, so i guess it is coming, and the news are for real
Of course they will keep it secret until the DL content is out, but man if a superior version with free content comes just a few weeks after the content is out, i will go for it
In fact, after those news, and the possibility of Star Ocean 4 going to PS3, i am going PS3/PC only this generation and will probably sell my 360, since all its exclusives are flying left and right
Really sad thing, because i was a huge 360 supporter and fan, but there is a point where i feel like an idiot, if the best 360 exclusives are coming better just 3 months later on PC, and cost less too

Re: PC version of Fable 2 Rumored for February, should we buy the DL content or wait ?
This is just silly, you are saying it's confirmed because you read on the internet that it Might be coming out in February.
On top of that you are claiming that you know how much it's going to cost ![Crazy []](/emoticons/crazy.gif)
To top it all off you are calling it sad and saying that you "feel like an idiot" for I presume buying it for the Xbox.![WTF [:wtf:]](/emoticons/wtf.gif)
Oh and I made a little correction to your title.

Re: PC version of Fable 2 Rumored for February, should we buy the DL content or wait ?
I would say it is unlikely because it would hurt xbox version fable 3 and xbox sells, but because Fable II was so badly cut up and is an average game at best. I can see it happening, and having it go on sell after the holidays also makes sense.
IF the PC version is the version they told us about, and not just a slightly beefed up version of what we have now, it will be a big seller.![Nervous [:nervous:]](/emoticons/nervous.gif)

You might not have got on with it, but it is not just 'average' as our metacritic rating shows.

Is it for real that is going to be released so soon on PC?

Yeah, I'm fair and impartial and I have to give this game a 9.7/10. This game is one of the best games I've played.
If it comes to PC, that's for all of you PC gamers, but I'm dumb and don't know how to use a keyboard for my gaming, so I'd stick to the 360.

You know you can get game pads for the PC, right? ![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif) I have used one for Fable TLC (although I prefer keyboard mouse) and many other games. Don't know why people think it's just the consoles that have this kind of hardware. If it is ever truly confirmed by Lionhead themselves, then I'll be a very happy chappy. ![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif) No need in DLC either once it generates a modding community.

Re: PC version of Fable 2 Rumored for February, should we buy the DL content or wait ?
I have to agree with Sir Voor here, while I enjoyed Fable 2 I think it is a very average game.
Review scores are quite inflated these days, plus if you watch/read many of the reviewer's blogs/podcasts/websites it appears that many didn't play more than the main storyline.

I should have said average for LH quality, not game industry quality. ![Classic [:classic:]](/emoticons/classic.gif)
Really is hard to compare LH games to other games, because it’s like comparing apple and oranges. LH does create unique games, I can always count a “wow, I have never seen that before” moment in any of LH games.
EDIT:
But Fable 2 still has a game feel and the hype made it seem like it would go beyond that.
Right now it looks like "Alan Wake" is story lovers next big hope for gaming to break into something new.

You have to remember something, that if you think a game is average, does not mean everyone else thinks the same too
I would grade Fable 2 a 10/10 just because it has the winter lodge or the sister world, games are SOOOOO predictable and emotionless these days, their art generic
Fable 2 is the very definition of unique and detailed art and full of emotion, it is unique in a huge huge way for the generic stuff we are served in gaming these days
If it was a bit more complex and had some bosses/challenges, would be the perfect game, but as it is now is the best experience i had in gaming, Zelda OOT and WW come soon after Fable 2 in my best games of all time list, and that's it, everything else is standard comparing
Also the scores come from those that invested in the game and the low from those that as you say played only strictly the story, so your argument only makes Fable 2 look better

Yeah, I actually tried to plug my 360 controller into my computer, but I didn't know how to configure it. I'm not at figuring all that out, so I have a copy of Oblivion for PC just sitting here.

Re: PC version of Fable 2 Rumored for February, should we buy the DL content or wait ?
people seem to miss the point that they released fable tlc on pc and it did the xbox version no harm at all it actually in fact increased the audience for the game, branching fable 2 onto the PC will be no different there is still an audience out there who may wel have played fable tlc on pc because they couldn't afford the xbox and may still not have the 360, the point is there is still a rather large audience for fable 2 on the pc and it will just generate lionhead and microsoft more money which is proberly the main reason for them making it for pc.

It is not the same thing, Fable LC came a year after the xbox version, not 3 months after

Uh no, many of the lower scores have come from reviewers who spent a lot of time playing it. For example, IGN gave it a review score below the metascore and they did at least 2 complete playthroughs. So you see, it makes Fable 2 look worse.
I really don't care if people are enjoying it or not, opinions only mean so much, and I`m not trying to change people`s opinions.
Whether or not you enjoy it:
- the world is still restrictive, largely path based.
- melee combat is decent but lacks moves, it is nowhere near as dynamic and impressive as it was in Peter's E3 07 demo. Will powers are but switching between spells mid-battle is a problem.
- the game doesn't have much content, Peter said the main storyline would be 15-20 hours if you just focused on that and 75-100 hours if you did all the side-quests/jobs/etc. Sadly this isn't close to true, your looking at about 25-30 hours to do everything per playthrough. You can artifically extend the game time if you want by grinding but that isn't content.
- The and alignments don't make as big of an impact as they should. The villagers react in basically the same way as they did in Fable 1, there are fewer / moral choices than in Fable 1, the storyline is the same regardless of your / morality.
- Many of the enemies are poorly done. Normally I wouldn't say this from an objective point of view but I think it's safe to say for Fable 2. How many balvarines ran up to you, you rolled away, they just stood there and did their claw combo in thin air? (happens to me almost everytime I fight one) Hobbes that run away after you kill the biggest one?
- On top of these is the fact that many people have game breaking bugs. Games are not perfect and you usually see some bugs, but having so many severe bugs that some people can't even play is bad.
I might be able to come up with a few more but they would be bordering on opinion and I want to keep these objective. These are a few things that you can't debate because they are not really opinion based. If you look at the game for what it really is, without including your opinions, you can see it has some issues.

Whether or not you enjoy it:

Sorry, you have to play the game first, the game is not on a path, there are paths alright, but you can jump to wilderness from most, and explore a fully pathless 3D world, but you have to play the game first
- melee combat is decent but lacks moves, it is nowhere near as dynamic and impressive as it was in Peter's E3 07 demo. Will powers are but switching between spells mid-battle is a problem.
It is dynamic and amazing, given there is nothing on the market even remotly touching the fun real time combat in Fable 2, i do not see why you complain, it is the best we get, i am happy with that
- the game doesn't have much content, Peter said the main storyline would be 15-20 hours if you just focused on that and 75-100 hours if you did all the side-quests/jobs/etc. Sadly this isn't close to true, your looking at about 25-30 hours to do everything per playthrough. I did 45-50 hours per playthrough, now with the troll hunting i am in 100+ hours, and with the expansion will go even further ahead, the game is huge
- The and alignments don't make as big of an impact as they should. The villagers react in basically the same way as they did in Fable 1, there are fewer / moral choices than in Fable 1, the storyline is the same regardless of your / morality.
I agree, but the transformation is more evident, and NPC react a bit better
- Many of the enemies are poorly done. Normally I wouldn't say this from an objective point of view but I think it's safe to say for Fable 2. How many balvarines ran up to you, you rolled away, they just stood there and did their claw combo in thin air? (happens to me almost everytime I fight one) Hobbes that run away after you kill the biggest one?
Enemies are fine for me, and Hobbes running is unique, as Fable 2 is, i love it, the real problem is that there are few enemy types and no huge monster bosses
- On top of these is the fact that many people have game breaking bugs. Games are not perfect and you usually see some bugs, but having so many severe bugs that some people can't even play is bad.
Never came across one, after 100+ hours, and anyway a fix is coming
I might be able to come up with a few more but they would be bordering on opinion and I want to keep these objective. These are a few things that you can't debate because they are not really opinion based. If you look at the game for what it really is, without including your opinions, you can see it has some issues.
But the first ever comment you made about paths is wrong and opinion, it is noones fault that you chose to move in a path, the worrd is fully explorable, i can jump from most bridges, run up the mountain hill in the lake and overlook the world, where i can later go down to and explore etc, the game is not on paths at all as you suggested, if you have played the game that is
Sorry, but i feel that you have not really played the game

There isn't a fully 3D pathless world, the only regions that come close to that are Bowerlake and Oakfield. Most of the regions restrict you to paths, the paths are a little bigger now and have more open area but they are still boxed in.
Some might argue that Assassin's Creed had better real-time combat, it was basically the same rhythm based idea but I think the execution was a little better. It's not so much of a complaint as it is an observation, the environmental combat isn't how they said it would be and it lacked moves.
Right, but you basically proved my point. You spent time making your own fun, Troll hunting and such. You can do that with any game, if your looking for 75-100 hours of content you won't find it.
I have played the game, you can check my gamercard if you need proof.
