half-blood prince, anyone?
Haven't come across many other Harry Potter fans here, but I'm at work running off of caffeine and fangirl excitement after seeing a 12:02 am showing early this morning. Has anyone else seen it?
Yes, I thought so. Just watch your step or I'm totally telling.

I really enjoyed it, it was very ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) ... if not entirely faithful to the source material. However, it'll require a second viewing to really get the full experience, there were entirely too many squealing 12 year olds surrounding me.

Re: half-blood prince, anyone?
Not really a big fan of the movies, but I occassionally watch them with my mother sometimes.
Does Emma Watson still look ridiculously attractive?
How about the other human females?
I only wrote this because I hate you.

Re: half-blood prince, anyone?
Im not a big fan of Harry Potter to be honest, I liked the first film when I was a kid but not really all that into it any more, never read any of the books.
"IrishMorn" If Adon and Sagat step in....ah, what the hell, I'll get drunk and join in on that one.

I'll catch it on saturday, when I am off work. I really enjoyed the books as well I thought they were exceptional. I owe that to my wife I would have never cracked one of the books open but she insisted I check it out. and now I have read all of them. I look forward to seeing the movie.

Re: half-blood prince, anyone?
I've always waited for them to come out on DVD, however I am on vacation next week maybe I'll take the kids to see a matinee.
Must admit I prefer the books to the movies, but I have them all anyways.

Re: half-blood prince, anyone?
suzanne536:Typical Hollywood, they can take an awsome book and totaly change the story. So other than the plot how were the specieal effects?
Quidditch looked awesome, and they did a job with the Inferi-- they were definitely creepy.
Yes, I thought so. Just watch your step or I'm totally telling.

Re: half-blood prince, anyone?
Saw it earlier today. I liked it but there were inaccuracies. But then that is expected from any movie based on a book. Book is usually better.
It is better to be silent and be thought a fool, instead of opening your mouth and proving it.

Uh, pick me, pick me, I can answer that!
I did see Eragon, and I agree, all those changes did hurt Harrry terribly ... no, wait, that wasn't Potter in that movie. ![Hmm [^o)]](/emoticons/emotion-40.gif)

That's much more interesting than blood. They should have called it "Harry Potter and the Half-Marmite-Marinated-Chicken Prince" if they really wanted to pull the punters in. As it stands with it's present title I feel sure this movie will quickly fade to obscurity and be forgotten to all but crusty old film-beards within a few short weeks. And I'm never wrong when it comes to things like this.
Half-Blood Prince indeed

Re: half-blood prince, anyone?
I don't get why this thing has been getting such great reviews! It was horrible!
The fact was that half of it was supposedly 'funny' scenes at Hogwarts, and they focussed on all the wrong things!
1. Weasley house being attacked? wtf! this served no purpose at all, except that Molly got all sad when the house was destroyed.
2. They did not see the diadem in the room of requirement, how are they going to find it in number seven?
3. Dumbledore and Harry did not discuss how many horcruxes there were, or what they would be.
4. They replaced the final battle between the order of the pheonix and the death eaters at Hogwarts with the weasley attack.
5. The Ginny-Harry relationship was very poorly handled, it was as if Harry had been in love with her the whole time, but he's supposed to realise it when he sees her kissing Dean (I think it was dean... )
6. Luna and N le did not get big enough roles!
7. Tonks was very under developed, and she and Remus were just shoved together at the start of the film and we were made to assume that they loved each other.
8. There was nothing about Morope.
9. Quiditch served no purpose, even though it looked sick. After one match everyone forgot about it.
10. Harry never recieved his inheritance from Sirius, where are they going to stay while planning to infiltrate the ministry in the next building? and how will Harry get Kreacher to help them find the real locket?
11. Bill and Fleur aren't getting married, where will they stay when they rescue Olivander and where will they bury Dobby (if he even is in the film )?
12. They didn't bury Dumbledore with his wand! How will Voldemort get it from his tomb? Huh?
Disgrace! they forget everything of importance and focus on horrible 'humor' that shouldn't have made up a movie!
Don't get me wrong, the things they had were all fine and (apart from the weasley attack) but they shouldn't have been the BASIS of the film...
AND THE CAVE SCENE WAS FAR TOO SHORT!!!!!!!!!!!!
1 year on the forums and counting! Get it? Counting? Oh never mind...

WOW, they missed that much? that's movie producers for you, I felt the same way after seeing Order of the Phoenix which was one of my favorite books in the series, the movie was not even close to the book, too many important details left out, and for that reason, I felt like the movie did not capture the feel of the book at all.
