Re: Fable 2 - Limited Edition?

Best Buy has it on their site for 69.99 it will likely change soon so I would get in on that action ASAP

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8760432&st=Fable+2&lp=2&type=product&cp=1&id=1202650465422

Making the assumtion that the trial is for 1 month that's an eight dollar value which brings the rest of the stuff to 12 bucks or 2 bucks if you get in on the Best Buy deal.

Thanks Todd,  I'll have to look into that. Don't think I could get it if it went up.Smily [:)] Wouldn't mind the free month of gold either.

Will the pub games be in the game when it comes out?  So I won't have to switch out of the game to play them?  Because I don't have LIVE, I have dialup.  I can travel a ways to friends houses to mooch connenection off them.  And so I do have a silver account.  But will I need the connection to play the games?

I will buy the LE because its Limited.  Even if it only came with a free sticker.  I would love to give Lionhead an extra $20 for making the game.  Where should I preorder it?  Gamestop?

Anyways the LE edition isn't the full game, its the full game plus more.  Whereas the regular edition is just the full game, right?

To answer the first three questions...

Yes, the pub games will ship with Fable II, but you won't be able to start your wallet early. If you pre-order them, you can get them free or buy them for 800 points in August. You will need to be hooked to LIVE to do so, but once it's downloaded onto your HDD, I don't think it'll matter if you're connected to LIVE. And yes, silver members will and should be able to download them.

If you're in the US, then any gamestore will work (Gamestop, GameCrazy, maybe the G o o d [Good] ol' ma n' pa shops). You could also do the same at BestBuy and CircuitCity but I would check their sites, along with WalMart's.

And yes, the LE and RE are both the same game, except LE has a little more icing on the cake. Don't listen to the people that tell you otherwise. But you will need LIVE to download the content but seeing as how you have a friend for that, you should be set my G o o d [Good] sir.Wink [;)]

I agree, whatever the extra content will be, its absence will not signifficatly add to the story or to the overall Fable 2 experience. At least that's my opinion.

PS: Hey Kit I added the feedback I got regarding the Fate cards to the following thread: http://community.lionhead.com/forums/2/2937784/ShowThread.aspx#2937784

Re: Fable 2. Your Story is .... Failing + Some LE Stuff

I agree with Moonfever I think it will be wonderful with all the extras no matter what they are. And this is just a thought and maybe I'm wrong but all the people complaining about the cost for the LE and saying they will download the extra content after buying the regular edition....won't you be spending the same in the end after buying points to load the extra content?  I think people tend to find things to complain about. If you don't like it, ignore it, stop complaining to everyone and buy the one you want. I personally will have to save an extra $20 bucks more than what I had planned on spending because I want the LE, I don't normally ever buy games right when they come out, especially the LE, but for this I am making an exception.

Wow, the ignorance in so many people really makes me doubt the survival of the human race... I really think that people these days go out of their way to be stupid. Sure, you guys may think I am being too rough on these people, but can you actually deny it? I swear, people are so dumb. I'm sorry, but I have to say it. If you don't want to spend the money, then don' get it and, most of all, don't complain about it. Do you realize that it costs money to make all the content, so they need to charge for it to make that money back?
    RageFanatic:
I think the price of the LE is perfectly fair. If you think about it, all LE & CE games are usually 69.99 because of extra content. The only difference with Fable 2 LE is that it includes the pub games, which are 800 MS points. (AKA 10 bucks) Total of 79.99.
No, remember, the Standard Edition, also, comes with the pub-games. If you pre-order either edition, you get them free in August. If you don't pre-order, you get them for free when you get the game. If you don't want to wait, but can't pre-order, you can pay 800 MS Points ($10 U.S.) in August. (BTW RageFanatic, my rant above was not about you. It was regarding the OP and people like him.)

I agree with you on that Stick out tongue [:P] I actually am 90% sure that within 800 years this planet is desolated, and humans nowhere to be found. And no, not because of a meteor strike or anything, no, because of war and toxics that are yet to be discovered. But, back on-topic, people need to do some more research, or at least get their mind straight before they post a thread, or respond to it. Not that I always have the best comments, but I've definately seen dumber ones ;P Keep on spreading logic on the forums xD it's needed.

Evil Blondes and unrelated Participating Retailers?

Ahh I finally found that Game in the UK has preorders for the Limited Edition Version ...(HMV has it listed but no image or info or ability to preorder, so I don't know) ..

...but I wanted to know if Game (uk)  are *participating retailers* and I can thus download the pub games free when they are released?

Help me please I am itching to preorder!! Not since I waited outside a shop around midnight to pick up Master Chief's spartan helmet have I been so excited!!

Also, and this may have already come up so if it has I apologise...can you pick your characters hair colour?

In the first Fable you ended up with blonde/white hair if you had very G o o d [Good] behaviour... and I spent a large part of the game not using magic so I didn't lose it!! (I dont know whether this stems from a gaming OCD or what Stick out tongue [:P] )

I just thought it would be really cool if you could be an E v i l [Evil] blonde, or a saintly brunette... and that the colour of your hair wasn't a defining feature of your morality, but something you could control and personalise, and not the stereotypical blonde=G o o d [Good], black=bad.

I just think that not being able to is strangely limiting, for every dark haired character to be E v i l [Evil], and every light haired character to be angelic...or even worse if there are no different hair colours to pick... at least let us decide to be blonde, black, brunette or red head!

    What does everyone else think?

I definitely agree with the hair choice suggestion.  If I have the choice I will most certainly have a dark haired G o o d [Good] character (probably on my female play-through).

About whether or not oyu will be able to get the pub games, I have no clue and I am very sorry that I could not help in any way.

I've seen it stated that you can officially turn off the breadcrumb trail, though I agree it was very off-putting for me when I thought I couldn't turn it off. I have the link somewhere if you want me to post it, are you not that excited about getting it?

Even if I couldn't turn it  off, I have to say I would still probably buy the game, I would just complain all the way through about the breadcrumb trail Lick [:lick:]

I really hope you are right about the hair, I haven't seen any colours other than brunette in any of the screenshots or vids I can think of.

How much is 25 cents in Pounds? I accept postal orders, cheques and visa Wink [;)]

Tthe pub game thing isn't that big a deal really, I would naturally just rather get it for free if I can, so don't worry about it.

Oh and I want Fable 2 themes and gamer pics free in the LE... really  badly Big Smile [:D]

So.... who thinks the LE was a Terrible idea? now 90% of gamers who buy Fable 2 won't be able to play the whole story because of this Etxra "In-Game Content"- which could range from.... a Chicken Hat to an Entire Dungeon with "Phat Lewts".

Personally i don't think the LE will be worth the Extra 20$+tax because these "Behind The Scenes Videos" will be on youtube/other Video Hosting Sites within Minutes after release ..... and the Hobb Figure would be neat but only if its Decent size (I'm Guessing its the Hobb Figure that you see in Dev Diary 6) now if it turns out to be a 2-inch little keychain Hobb, that would also not be worth 20$ but if it is the one you see in the video, then yah i could see if being worth 20$.

To be Honest.... i Think they Screwed up on the LE ..... BADDLY Down []

Now all we can do is wait too see if Fable 2 is a bust or not.

    From: Jackel

Bonus in-game content just seems to be the next step for limited editions of games. I just hope the in-game items don't make or break the game. I would hate it if there was a set of badass mage armor or something in there because I won't be able to get the limited edition. For me, because of the state I live in and the taxes, the cost is really high and I don't think it's worth it.

Now, yesterday I pre-ordered the Warhammer LE and it cost $106, which is what Fable 2 LE would cost me; but with Warhammer I'm getting a whole lot more bang for my buck.

So, what? The bread-crumb trail wont affect anything, you will be able to turn it off. Lionhead has learned from their mistacks from the first game, like that annoying guild master...   "hero, there's a new quest at the guild for you, hero, there's a new quest at the guild for you, hero, there's a new quest at the guild for you, hero, there's a new quest at the guild for you, hero, hero, hero"

I hate everyone that think that everything that sounds like they might not like it, start saying things like you, until they try it...  And as I said before, don't like bread-crumb trail feature? then, TURN IT OFF!!!

    My advice is thus:

Keep an open mind at all times, to often do we over look the amazing and end up settling for the mundane.

Wow I cant believe some people are complaining about there being a Limited Edition version!!

Ok, so not everyone WANTS it, some people just want to play the game and that's it, but I think its great that there are some extra G o o d [Good]ies you can pay for if you want to.

I mean, much as I hate to admit it, I am currently below the povery line where I live, I earn peanuts for my dead end job, and a marginally retarded monkey could probably do it... but I will happily save up and pay the extra £10 (which is like $20 I think) because I really want the full works. A lot of my friends buy games but aren't into collecters editions etc, it's just really G o o d [Good] that everyone can chose whether or not to get it.

I am going to agree with everyone else. If you do not like it. Don't buy it.

Think microsoft minds? Either way they will probally make a extra 30 mil from this deal. I think it is brillant. 90%? Over doing it there abit? They will probaly have enough to supply atleast half who buy it in the first year. GTA IV had loads and loads of limited editions. And they were 40 bucks more then the regular not including tax.

Don't want to cough up 20 bucks? Thats fine enjoy Fable 2 its a great game either way. By the way. I bet that it comes with a art book (whitch I like to have) soundtrack, a extra dvd that sam has worked his butt off and 70% of it will be new.

A Hobbe figurine, Xboxlive trial card, Extra in game content. Add all of that pup and easily worth 20 bucks more so I will buy it. And it comes with the pub games if you preorder it.Smily [:)] . Also they should include Tales of Albion. For people who don't use the internet that much.

Anyways I think its a great deal. And I am glad they have a limited edition. The box alone is worth 20 bucks to look at lol.

So.... who thinks the LE was a Terrible idea? now 90% of gamers who buy Fable 2 won't be able to play the whole story because of this Etxra "In-Game Content"- which could range from.... a Chicken Hat to an Entire Dungeon with "Phat Lewts".

    Ahahaha

    well that was wonderful

Anyway i have to say that the Extra in game content is just that... Extra... so i have to highly doubt that it will at all affect your gaming experience if you dont have it... beyond wondering what it is you decided not to pay for.

this is so important im going to sign it in all capital letters its going to say ADAM WEST
thats what its gonna say you'll see

On that note it would probably be helpful if they at least said what the extra content and items were.

I just read on gamestop that there was new in game content. I was wondering what the content was and what the hobbe figure looked like.

    They asked different questions.

was it really necessary to necro post this, since we already have a Fable 2 Limited Edition topic floating about on the first page?
