for the 21st century idea...
No longer would we have swords and arrows, but we could have jets, tanks, and nuclear weapons!!!!!!!
The nuke part may be a stretch because you could just stockpile and then nuke your opposition into oblivion, plus the radiation bit, so the game might be to quick.

This game B&W2 needs Human like giant creatures also, a golem maybe. And blood, lots of it! Im sure LionHead could do an addon for B&W2. Would make the game even more cool to play. It would also awesome if we could play has creatures also.

You should have stone mines and ore mines, stone for buildings, and you should be able to get ore back from soldiers, and have scavengers which get resorces from dead soldiers and ruines buildings. Plus, by putting wood in a old ore or stone minem it could slowly turn into the resource in the mine.
More troops types like spearmen, swordmen in three types,light medium and heavy, archers, crossbow men (reload slower but more acuracy) and animal units. Then with the siege units, you could have catpults and those large bow like things, and rams.
Animal units could be a huge part of the game, you could train horses and such with an animal trainer to be rode, or have wild bears in cages along with tigers and all sorts. Lets go total war on the units and war, really.
But still have the old sytem of impressing people, bring belief back, so that you can chose to take by force, belief, or impresivness.
Then whats with units must having catapalts to get in, or siege equitment. I say you should have ladders, and the ablility to climb walls without, but very slowly and dangerously. They could also climb trees, and buildings, and ambush people, come on have some fun.
What about not being able to destroy buildings? Why can't we have some sort of man with a torch who can burn down wooden buildings?
Then theres miracles for attacking, if we were to keep the influence like it was in B&W1, population depends on influence, and the buildings (not in B&W1, but what the hay), but influences can't overlap. Basicly, if theres an enemy building the enemy will get so much influence no matter what, but the higher the population, the more the influnce spreads out, and when two influences push against each other, the god with the highest population in the influence will push the other influence back, but it can't push back the influence given by the building already. That makes miracles for attacking more fair.
But what if you could get people to use the miracles for you, like monks. You could make a miracle, into a miracle buble, then put it on a ctapult, or some sort of storage veichele. fire it on a catapult while the monk opens the buble, and fire the miracle on people.

In my idea the best BW3 would be more like the BW1, the most original and best concept ever made in my point of view. Get rid of impressiveness and come back to the original beliefe system.
Take out Sim City and any other strategy-war game and make the creature the most important part like in BW1. Make the creature more human like, more unpredictable. In BW2 the creature really doesn't almost any role at all, exept in war. And take out this stupid way of teaching your crt miracles by buying information.... It's really sucks. U should train a crt like u would train your dog, by repeteadly showing how to do stuff. And I'm not talking just about miracle training, I'm talking about in teaching your crt how to react in certain situations. And if u leave u're crt alone, he will start to do stuff on his own and it would be really hard to change his behaiviour, just like any person. And make it possible for crts to interact not only by fighting, but by playing or other stuff like that.
And leave the suparnatural crts for other games. MY COW IS THE BEST :P:P
It's no big problem if a god comes again and steals your crt from u and u have to get it back, the curse in the last land in BW1 is what i really didn't like. Losing your crt in one land made me realise how important he was to me and drove me towards getting him back as soon as possible. Man, do i miss bw1 ![Happy [:)]](/Emoticons/happy.gif)
In the disscusion of armies, this wasen't in the original bw1 design. I thought that in bw2, it would play a small part, a way to make people believe in you easier. I don't know why LH made city building and going to war so important. There are LOADS of other games more specialised in these kinds of gameplay.
All in all, BW3 should look more like BW1 and less a Sim City and a strategy-war game.
P.S. Scrap middle ages and modern age. They suck :P I like Eden the old fashion way ^^

Old features back :
-Fireflies! One-shot miracles!
-Miracle dispensers
-Wonders, those things that hasten, strengthen and do many great things to your villagers and miracles
-Creature cave, easy way to check up on your creature
-Creature tattooing, the only real way to personalize your creature
-Multiplayer, need I say more
-Skirmish, some more action and a good place to train for MP and play custom maps
-The old BnW1 teaching system, an hour long effort to teach the creature to blow up a building with megablast really felt rewarding instead of buying that same attribute from a shop wtf
-Belief, in BnW2 nobody even believes in you they just come to your town cause your town is pretty or your army took over their town
-Multiple enemy/ally gods, Khazar back from the void! ![Big Smile [:D]](/Emoticons/grin.gif)
-Wild animals, animals that can actually eat a villager that isn't careful
-Permanent scars, you could look at your creature and be proud of how he's been a great warrior by just seeing his sexy scars
-Temples, something that is ultimately your attachment to Eden
-Great plot, I really liked the You + Khazar + Lethys thingie a lot in land 2
-Leash of compassion and leash of aggression, is there any better way to teach a creature what to love and what to hate
-Ability to teach the creature any spell, not just a select few like in bnw2
BnW2 features to be kept :
-War, it really adds some a 3rd playing field for the gods
-Epic miracles, need I say more
-The new miracles, verdant, life and the rest rock
-No resource miracles, no need to waste precious mana for that junk
-The toolbar, makes things a bit more RTS and makes construction, creature handling and stuff easier
-Creature's learnt actions, that part in the toolbar where you can just see what he's learned to do and choose to approve or disapprove his actions
Possible new features :
-More army units, spearmen, horsemen, peasants
-Riots, as an evil god, you have to keep your people afraid of you and believe in you by actually doing something horrific to them now and then or they no longer are afraid and no longer believe in you
-Riots, as a good god, you have to keep the quality of your villagers' lives at the level they've used to or even better, but never too much worse than before, if you don't keep them happy : riots -> same result as in an evil god's riot
-Murders and other crimes within the city, the more good you are the less of these happen
-Landscaping shaping epics, not ones that heal back up : after a volcano's done it's job : it becomes a crater etc.
Things to be removed or replaced :
-God building must go, I cannot be arsed to do a mortal's task
-Tribute, buying things isn't what gods should focus on
-Ants, nobody asked for them just something to drain a computer's cpu
-Impressiveness, no no no, but when your city becomes greater the more belief the non-believers have towards you.
-Migrating should be modified so that you can decide whether they stay where they are or move to your metropolis
Things to look at when making BnW3 :
-Personalization, everybody must look different thx to crt tattoos and alignment,your alignment and symbol, scars on your creature
-Multiplayer, multiplayer! must have multiplayer so people can show off their cool selves
-The plot, a good plot makes a good single player
-Making you feel like a god
-Making you feel proud, about teaching your creature to heal people in 15 mins or so and seeing him use it. Building a massive army and teaching it to take a certain formation and defense stance and watch it in action etc.
-Very versatile miracles, many miracles could be handy both in offensive and micro-management.
A simplified version of this all :
-A RTS game where you lead your believers to victory
-Personalized creatures, gods etc.
-Wicked miracles
-The greatest plot, written by many soap opera scriptwriters

'I would change the color of the car.' 'The mountain is too big.' 'Too many clouds.' .......... What would you do then??????
When you all are having so many good ideas, why don't you make your own game?

Yes, and I believe ther was one for the first game (P5 glove it was called). I never used it, but apparently it worked quite well.

Honestly, I want to see a game with BW1's atmosphere. I don't care about the time frame. In BW2, it just seemed like the game was constructed around features; very much like if you took the whimsy out of BW1 and replaced it with armies. Oh wait, that's what happened. Also, the idea of converting towns through impressiveness was not nearly as fun as beleif in BW1.

Okay Okay,
Lets get rid of the GOD SHOP the tribute system... or lets upgrade it, or change up the exchange rate, cuz right now it sucks.
Now what about weather? we should be able to affect weather, remember BW1 you can make a storm within your influence ring and send it towards an enemy town.
Where are the missionaries? I think a missionary based game was much more workable and fun. The premise of the game to me has always been "belief in one god vs another". So why not base everything off that?
Personalized religions. The icons in BW1 were cool becuase it was reflected in many artifacts and things within your people. They should extend it more, and make it so your army carries your banner, and your towns wave your flags, your rocks have your icon, like in BW1.
okay, if we are to take BW1 and graphics from BW2 to make BW3 what in BW1 didn't work? or needed improvement?
I say bring back teleports, I liked in BW1 how if your belief was low you couldn't sustain a network of teleports, but if you had alot of belief you can keep them open for as long as needed. Teleports should only work within your influence ring like BW1.
I think towns should level up, into cities, and only cities can have walls, this way a town is much easier to take hold of but harder to defend until you've built city neccessities, SO if you're evil and burn down alot of a city's parts it reverts to a township.
Having artifacts to increase belief is great idea i think.
IF war is to be a big part of the religion shouldn't the creature be suited with armor? They should continue the theme if you're evil everything around you is evil, if you're good everything around you is good, same with your army and creature.
So how do we balance MP? we need to create a standard set that allows players to start evenly, and the maps have to have things that allow advantages over the other player, such as location, resources.
So if an older player is playing a newb, the older player will have a larger creature, but the newb will have more instant miracles to be found in thier area.
Armies should have an energy bar, with the life bar, this way an army that is fighting day after day cannot defend agianst a fresh army, and armies can't just run across the entire map without resting. This way the MP has more depth to the strategy. cuz now you have to plan to attack with a set of armies instead of just building a wave to send out.
make starting a new village harder than stealing a village. This way the player is encouraged to focus on building and defending thier existing town instead of trying to build a new town to extend thier influence, yet allows them to steal provoking the players to build armies as well.
I think a power meter showing belief or tribute is warranted. So far the only way to know if your out is if you cannot perform your miracles. if you know you are low or "weak" you should have the ability to decide to fight to the end or run and recover.
Creatures should have the ability to climb, or use abilities unique to them. Like frog creature that can hop distances and an ape that climbs over mountains.
A Fog of War would be awesome, and only occurs near armies and conflict. Visually I think this would be stunning, in gameplay it would help even out battles.
The puzzles in a map should lead to unlocking advantages for that player in MP.
There should be a creature cage spell, or a freeze spell, something that can stop a creature dead in its tracks.
Shortcut keys.
Fishing and Hunting.
More than just islands. I mean water is everywhere, but why is everyone on islands? Can't two gods fight on the hilly plains surrounded by mountains?
Technology tree for the humans, not too complex but at least something.
Can there be mages? or magicians? basically there should be different levels of disciples, like if a worshipper prays X amount they can go and convert people, after they convert X amount they can perform small miracles or just 1 type, and if you say put a healer within an army that army can now auto-heal itself, or if you put a fireball thrower in an army the arrows will now be on fire and inflict more damage.
Water, or the access to it should play a major role in the advancement of your city. Fishing gathers more food than in the fields so having a city by the sea is important to advancing your technology.
So like I said earlier with levels of villages to towns to cities to capitol, once you've turned a village into a town it should be nearly completely self sustainable, and only need your protection from then on, allowing you to focus more building up the next village or build up for war.

Yoshilia, what you are talking about is called criticism. In an art class, that is to supposed to lead you to making a better art piece. If we just accepted art for "art sake's" then there would be no definition for good art.
Now relate this to the topic of making a better BW3 game.
Critism, good or bad leads to improvements, Yes the devs will have headaches, but that is what they are there for, to DEVELOP a way for these things to be made. Programmers are hired to PROGRAM things, no one said things are programmed and developed becuase it was easy to.

I think it is not our part to think about the games. That's the work of the devs. For that reason we have to pay for the games.
It are the games mags. These journalist are talking about the games like they had any ideas. Example of a German games mag: "It is amazing how silent the knife of XY is going through the curtain." Yes, right, the devs have made a silencer. Cool.
But if you like it to talk about your favourite game then do what you can't let be.

New Ore:
Ore Quarry-Half burried ore, above ground. Miners could go get them.
Mine Shafts-Ore gathering faster
Ore Well-Manmade well, small amounts-but helpful in tight spots
Resource Areas:
Refine Food-Bakery
Refine Wood-Woodcutter's
Refine Ore-Forge/Metal Smith's
Small ideas but, worthy in the long run.

I got an idea, make sure you actually test this game on all the "supported" video card's and make sure it runs on all "the supported" video cards fine before releasing and alpha to the public like you did with bw2...

Hand Forcing actually make a crater
Infulence Sphere Inhanced(like 10 centimetres per a person in that realm
Realm Infulence (has an infulence that by defalt covers half the land)
Longer Lasting Death Mirecle (and you could make un dead villagers and un dead troops)
Life Mirecle Inhanced (becomes like a zombie thing if you cast life on it if it is de composing
Castle (like a fortress like in Lord of the Rings)

The key to an awesome Black and White game is something I don’t think has been properly handled in either of the games yet. B&W1 was awesome and B&W2 was ok, but none of them made you REALLY feel like the God the game advertised you were. The key is pointlessness. Black and White III should have a thousand pointless things you should be able to do in order to make you feel like the God you are and like the world you are in is truly interactive to you as a God.
When I say pointless things, however, they should, of course, be enjoyable pointless things, like the ability to create a “bible” for your people. You could write whatever you wanted in it and maybe having one would increase your people’s faith or something. The ability to edit your world, to change the landscape, is something that really HAS to be incorporated into the new Black and White III. Maybe, to make it fair, you could only edit the landscape once you conquered the land. This wouldn’t hold much point during multiplayer or during battles in single player, and once you conquered the land it wouldn’t help you gain anything, but it would help you feel more like a God. You should be able to revisit lands you already conquered in single player and continue to make them grow while also continuing the single player quests. I hated leaving my lands after I conquered them, because I always wanted to return with my new miracles and buildings and build up that old land, but I couldn’t, because it wouldn’t let me return. You should be able to name your cities and your lands. You should be able to choose your tribe instead of having the game choose for you (who chooses for a God?). You should be able to have tons of creature choices (B&W2’s lack of creatures was disappointing) and you should be able to go even further by editing their fur color and maybe even their eye color. You should get rid of minor restrictions (God’s shouldn’t have to bother with restrictions), like having town centers in places you don’t want them, just because the level was designed to have a town center there; I want to be able to dismantle towns if I don’t want one there! People should go to your temple and pray to you with recycled AI scripts. They would pray simple prayers like more food or for someone they like to like them back and then you would have simple things to either satisfy or disrupt their prayer and upon your choice it would impact that individual— something like that would actually make me feel like me and my people actually have some personal interaction other than random invisible people occasionally saying “more food”. Maybe you could, instead of killing enemy gods, make them become your generals, your servants, or even your spouses and in doing so, you could create your own “pantheon” of Gods that you would rule over. God’s should have alternate “nether” realms of which they could make their heaven or their hell and where your people in Eden would go to when they died. I’ve never heard of a mythological God that only interacted with mortals, they all also waged spiritual wars and owned their own nether realms. Perhaps you should give we Gods the ability to have “angels”, and what your angels look and act like depends on alignment, what tribe you own, or a better option would be the player’s own design. I want more miracles and more Tribes to choose from. B&W2 hardly had any of these things.
Another thing that should be added to make the player feel more like a God is make the God you are playing more personal. A flying hand that changes into generic good or evil forms pending on your choice is hardly personal. Pointlessness should be incorporated here as well. The player should be able to choose an “image” for himself, so pending on that image, people would build statues of you in that image and worship their God. I personally always thought is would be fun to give the player a choice of three things they could be God of as well. Every mythology’s gods were gods of something. What the heck were we the Gods of in Black and White? Gods of flying hands? Maybe giving the player the option to be “, God of fire, war, and animals” would make you actually feel like a God as well. And of course what you are God over affects gameplay, like being God of fire would increase fire related miracles and so forth. Bring back that awsome temple from B&W1 so that we can actually have a seat of power. Bring back the God symbols like in B&W1. Also, bring back multi-player; as a God, I want to kill other Gods as well.
When I play Black and White, I want to feel like a GOD, not a floating hand telling my little ant people to do random things in order to complete a quest that I HAVE to do in the way the game wants me to do it (side quests in Black and White II affected nothing and were generic). Black and White III should accomplish the feeling of God that I am supposed to feel.
Oh yeah, and one more thing… please, please, please, please, do not make Black and White III set in modern times. I don’t’ want to be, as an evil player, leading a group of radicals who become disciple suicide bombers! Keep it in B.C. era, please.

I got another idea, make a skirmish mod. You know after youre done with singlep layer just go into skirmish and have like maybe 10 diff maps or something to pick from and decide how much starting resorces and stuff to start off with. A skirmish mode like the Command & Conquer games have.
I would also like to see maybe a contruction miracle or something to tell youre people to do to clear a hill and flaten it or something like that. Iv noticed in bw2 or botg when i build gates @ my walls or buildings that have been destroyed near a hill it places the gate or the building on it own hill and make the ground seem all messed up.
For exsample on the 3rd japanese map i built a bath house on the road going up the tall cliff behind you base and when i did that it made a hill there and i couldnt build a road going up the hill to my other buildings : / Something in the game to move land would be nice
