    Re: Fable 2 Feature List

Here is one that got overlooked i think, and maybe is not in the list

In the below Peter talks about how your E v i l [Evil] self, will make towns E v i l [Evil] or the noble heroes will make cities look majestic

    Here it is

And here is info for the growing cities, GDC06, i do not have link, but was from GDC06 in 1UP

Peter Molyneux Talks Fable 2 at GDC London
Wants his game better than Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect.
    By 1UP Staff, 10/06/2006

    'Dynamic Environments'
When playing RPGs, the feeling is "I don't seem to make a difference to the world."

In Fable, the story is set over the period of a lifetime. Peter Molyneux said that this was both frustrating to design for and yet, allows freedom to do things others can't do. A concept shot from Fable 2 was revealed - a beautifully painted campfire in the woods. Brightwood. When you are a teen in Fable 2, it's a spooky place inspired by Murkwood in LOTR.

The example detailed here was that in this location, you discover a Gypsy camp. If your character goes in and trades and is nice to everyone, you can do a quest to help the gypsies by clearing out woods of enemies called 'Hobbs'. However, if your character comes back in ten years, the camp will have changed into houses. Ten years further on, it's a little village. Ten years further, the village is a town!

But here's the twist; if you initially went into the camp and slaughtered everyone, the town wouldn't exist and that's an interesting thing for the player to experience, as everyone is likely to experience a different environment from one another.

    • Morphing is going to have a large part in Fable 2, with the different morphs relying on G o o d [Good], E v i l [Evil], corruption, purity, strength, will, and more.

Sadly in this video PM also says morphs will have extremes horn and halos stuff again. Disappointed [:isappoin]

Might take a while for the glue to dry (a.k.a. it'll take a few minutes for the forums to refresh with the thread newly stickied).  Wink [;)]

I just hope that new members will actually look here rather than create new threads.Knockedou [:knockedou] I think it would be a G o o d [Good] idea to put this topic's title in bold red lettering as to stand out to newcomers who are hungry for info.

A large percentage of new members will typically overlook threads regardless as to whether they're stickied or not.  So it's going to be difficult to combat against repetitive threads but just point them in the direction of this link and that should take care of most such threads.

I don't know if you caught my edit but maybe it would be a G o o d [Good] idea to make this topic stand out? Like putting the topic's lettering in red font or bolding the letters, or both.

Unfortunately thread titles don't respond to forum code, so the standard black text is our only option.  I do agree that non-stickied threads sometimes get a little more attention (we get so used to seeing stickied threads we can tend to overlook them) but it's the only way to keep the thread from drifting to the second page without perpetual bumping.

    Mortalitis_Infinitas:

Thanks for the kind words guys. Up [] Like fluKe said, just remember that nothing mentioned here is 100%.  Be sure to read the disclaimer at the top of the thread for the full scoop.

Regarding the stickied nature of this thread I do agree that unstickied threads typically get noticed a little more (rather ironic isn't it).  If it starts drifting off the first page I'll go ahead and stick it up at the top though.

As always, let me know if anything needs to get added in (just be sure to cite your source).

    Wait... what?

Edit: Wait, nevermind. I read too fast and thought it said your dog would attack with guns... and vice versa. Big Smile [:D]

Ha ha.  Yeah, that's a really bad passive sentence.  Got it fixed up.  Wink [;)]

Mabey not 100%. Like if everybody working on FBL2 died tomorrow then not 100%. But pretty much all of the big things on the list have been shown.

    Surisingly, I find myself trusting PM again. I really think that he has turned over a new leaf. That's not to say that he might accidently let some BS slip, but who doesn't every once and while?BLOCKED SCRIPTInsertText('Rolleyes [:rolleyes:]');

    Has that been added ?

    http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2008/02/28/x3f-interviews-peter-molyneux-about-fable-2-bc-xna/

They're drama, the drama and things like the dog and the family, and the fact is that you change physically and visibly, the world changes physically and visibly, the story changes. You know, the capital city, depending on how you play the game, can be more of a slum or can be more majestic. So, everything changes and that's very, very dramatic, so that's a really, really big feature.
