Greetings fellow movie makers. Please read these simple instructions and you should obtain a satisfactory review.

    1. Post a link and description of your movie.

    2. My reviews are honest. Only post your movie if you want an honest rating.

    3. Add the word "Cookies" somewhere in your post, which will confirm you've read these instructions and will not accuse me of sabotaging your work because I'm "just jealous."  Stick out tongue [:P]

My film for your perusal is TMO's first ever polemic documentary.

Join Professor Richard Lawkins, author of "The Greedy Gene" as he travels the world explaining why natural phenomena and not deities are responsible for life.

Watch as he locks horns with Rev. Jerry Falwell (in his final TV interview) at Liberty University, Virginia, where alleged 3000 year-old dinosaur bones are on display.

"The God Illusion - Root of all Ills?" is a damning indictment of religion in all its forms; the excesses of blind faith in supernatural powers are laid bare by the sharp reasoning of one of modern biological science's most accomplished intellectuals.

And There She Was - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/150083

I'll wager true romance movies are the rarest genre on TMO. To reach out to that small audience who isn't obsessed with naked lesbians robot girls ripping their clothes off whilst saying "What is this human thing you call love?" is a brave move. Then I realize it's a silent movie which narrows your audience even further. I'm tempted to change "brave" with "insane" but sometimes they're the same thing.

The first thing our ears perk up to when pressing that play button, is classical music. Finally some class and sophistication around here! A bar pops into view and the stylish writing begins to tell a tale. What follows is a collection of scenes acting out that oh so standard boy meets girl story with persistent one liners, the majority of which are about as useful as men's nipples.

And yet I didn't get bored. I can't fully explain it, but I'm giving most of the credit (if not all) to the seductive music which simply demanded consideration. The minutes rolled by and whilst you had my attention, I still felt like I had witnessed nothing of value. Then you delivered the twist.

The twist was simple. It drew a tear from this sensitive ole cookiemonster, and that alone was worth watching this. Try as I might though, I just couldn't justify giving more than 3 stars to an 8 minute film which was primarily carried there by the muscular shoulders of it's music. Yeah that's three times I've mentioned the music now, which just emphasizes how little else there is. That'll probably be fine for some. In the end this all comes down to personal taste.

On a final note, your camera work was interesting. I suspect you milked the zoom function a tad too much, but there were some unique shots which added to the mood.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna' go find a movie with naked lesbian robot girls.

    3 Stars

    The Creepy Clown Visits - A Poem - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/148719

You had me at "psychopathic clown." With the new Batman film coming soon and the appearance of my idol The Joker (scariest version), my excitement could barely be contained. In a vain hope to quell my urge for murderous clowns, your title quickly caught my eye. Preparing my mind for an assault of madness, I pressed play and dived into the mind of a killer.

As the movie's title suggests, it is a poem. A poem narrated by this clown. Playing all the way through is a gentle tingle with the style of a nursery rhyme. Nursery rhymes have been used in horrors before to great effect and this one is no different. There's something deeply chilling about an innocent tune twisted for malevolent purposes. Who doesn't get a panic attack every time they remember "1, 2, Freddy's coming for you."

The voice of the clown was quite powerful. I actually got a chill the first few times he said "funny" but the novelty wore off quickly as the word was overused. I laughed when he said "bring it on you old crone" as it seemed out of character. There isn't any need for me to explain the story like I usually do in these reviews, your description pretty much sums it up. I did wonder what exactly set him off in the first place. Did the old man remind him of his father? How did he get caught? Why wasn't he thrown into mental asylum? Did he do a few children's birthday parties between killings in order to pay for the bomb?

Editing was above average. The reaction to being shot three times mixed in with viewings of the gun were impressive. Shockingly out of the hundreds of movies I've watched on TMO, I had never seen that simple trick done properly before. Had some issues with certain lines in the dialogue, but it wasn't enough to ruin the atmosphere.

Overall a solid movie which deserves it's 13th (eek) place on the horror charts. Hell, most of the horror movies above it couldn't scare a child with an anxiety disorder.

A music video isn't something you see everyday on TMO. There have been some classics like Buccie's twisted Beer song. Lord help you if The Ultimate Showdown crossed your mind, that blatant theft should have been bludgeoned with a rusty crowbar the second it was uploaded. The question in my mind - is just how do you make, let alone review a music video? It's not like I've tuned into MTV (who would?) to watch a real one in the last decade.

Whilst it was a beautiful song I had little clue as to what it was about. The scenes appeared completely random through my eyes. So I went to Konomichi's Myspace page. Finding no description or story behind the music, I simply deemed myself unqualified to rate it and ate a bag of cookies instead.

    The Box - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/150642

This is a comedy movie, but it's also sort of a movie designed to make you think and question the idea of television, and how if you let it rule your life, you become what the main character is: a cookie. (Naw, just playing, he's a clown. Wink [;)] ) This is a movie that has confused a lot of people, and it's seemed to attract a lot of one-star ninjas, so I was hoping I could get someone with a higher intellectual level to watch it. Big Smile [:D] Hope you enjoy.

    I Think Im a Car - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/141239

An emotional rollercoaster ride, this film may just be the best production on TMO I've ever seen. This cinematic masterpiece contains an astounding plot with editing so epic, it makes Lord of the Rings look like a cheap B-movie. I particularly loved the part where the godfather of soul James Brown transforms with Chuck Norris into the ultimate ass kicking funk machine and defeats the mighty Hulk Hogan.

But seriously, what a pile of crap! I don't know what's worse - that I took the time to watch this (and review it) or that try as hard as I might, I couldn't resist grinning. You get one extra star because it's that absurd. Plus now the others who've received two stars from me will know their movie is on par to a man sitting on a chair making driving noises for five minutes.

    Poptart Mania! - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/149007

There should be a federal law preventing Teh Poptart Kid from speaking ever again. Hush, can you hear that? It's the sound of my molars exploding. I wanted to run away from this faster than FOX studio executives from another season of Firefly.

It all went downhill (more like a vertical 500 feet drop) the moment the orange sky loomed and he said "A TEABAG PRODUCTION" (or something) in a voice which would make nails on a chalkboard seem soothing in comparison.

So a man sits on a sofa eating pizza. Suddenly (instantly) a relentless burst of rain hits his house. We watch him go upstairs, get changed for bed, and get some sleep. Every scene is given the full running time to maximize our annoyance. He's now in a subway indicating this is a dream. I think you missed the point here. If we know it's a dream, then we know there is no danger. He then walks around for 30 seconds. Nothing is happening here. Nothing has happened since the movie started. He even looks at his watch!

Suddenly a giant poptart with a face appears on the stairs. I would assume somebody drew that on but this man has an irrational fear of poptarts. After attempting to speak with it (because if you draw a face on something it becomes intelligent) he flips out and jumps on a subway carriage which wasn't there before.

More poptarts happen to be on the carriage. The man screams with all the acting talent of Keanu Reaves. We go through a bunch of dream sequences all the while having to listen to the man recycling the same scream over and over until our ears bleed.

He wakes up. Predictably after doing some ultra important on-screen things like having a smoke/shower, he switches on the television and spots another poptart. Cue recycled scream. What did they ever do to him?! This guy seems like a total jerk, I can just imagine him walking about on the streets shouting "AAAAAH AFRICAN AMERICANS" or "AAAAAAH ASIANS!" Tell that racist fool to quit picking on the poptarts just because they're different!

This movie is horrible. Kill it. Kill it with fire.

    Re: Cookiemonster Reviews

    My pleasure guys.

    Day and Night - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/148504

Work intrudes on a man's personal life. As he says G o o d [Good]bye to his girlfriend and boards a plane for a business trip, something goes horribly wrong. The plane crashes into the ocean. Only the man survives. With limited luxury, he adapts to the island over a lengthy period of time. Eventually he is rescued only to find the love of his life has moved on.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that I was describing this movie. Yes that's the plot of this movie, but I was actually describing the film Cast Away with Tom Hanks. This isn't inspired by Cast Away - this is a direct rip-off of Cast Away. There is no originality here whatsoever. You probably just watched the movie and said to yourself "well gee wiz that woz cool, Iz gonna' make ma own version an' call it somefin else, then peoplz will think I'm awesome, awesome to the max!11!1!"

Even the minor changes wouldn't have fooled a mentally impaired doughnut. Making the main character's name Wilson? Giving him a basketball to talk with? It's an insult to our intelligence.

The worst thing about it is, it's not even a half decent rip-off. Editing is shoddy and the dialogue was totally generic. The voiceovers were so incredibly wooden, I got splinters. The Terminator could have thrown in more emotion than that. At one point Wilson even said "I'll be back", paused, then continued the line. It's a rare day when I see someone with less acting talent then Jessica Alba. Suddenly Poptart Mania doesn't seem so bad anymore!

    Addiction - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/150090

Having little experience with gambling myself, I find it hard to relate with or understand Charlie's fixation. I don't have any addictions either so meh. What these cookies? Those are for... medicinal purposes.

There's little plot development here, it's just two people - man and wife (presumably) conversing the entire 4.30 minutes about how much money Charlie has lost this time, plus the consequences of such a loss, both emotionally and financially. There's no real message except "excessive gambling is bad." Well duh!

So with all that out of the way, what does this movie have to offer? Well, everything (intentionally) hinges on the dialogue and emotion of the characters. For that, it succeeds spectacularly.

Let's start with Amy. Her tone was perfect. She didn't explode with rage (you can tell she's angry of course) when finding out about the titanic sum Charlie had lost, but we're given the impression that this is only because he's not worth it. After coming back to this point yet again, Charlie isn't even worth screaming at anymore. This lack of rage makes him seem even more pitiful.

Charlie attempts to explain but she couldn't possibly understand. He's lost all his money and he knows before this night is over, he's going to lose more. The "I know" scene was very moving till the mood was utterly spoiled. It would be awesome (to the max!11!!) if the movie had ended there, but instead it continues, and Charlie magically teleports from a bedroom to the kitchen. Also, why is the camera focusing on a stone bench at the beginning?

Oh did I not mention the music? It's great. But honestly I was too distracted by the actors who stole the show. It helps that you gave them some damn fine dialogue to work with.

    Miss World Massacre - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/150007

Ugh subtitles. They just require so much effort to read. Once upon a time I was more than willing, but eventually voiceovers became the norm on TMO. Without them you'll be hard pressed to keep our attention. It doesn't help that the subtitles are hard to read against certain backgrounds whilst they speed by faster than a fat man passing the salad bar.

A new Miss World competition is starting and we're introduced to the main character Sheila - a competitor. She heads to her room which has a gigantic blue backdrop inside. Huh, that must be inconvenient, she'll be blind by tomorrow. A woman named Inga sporting jubblies that would put Tifa to shame introduces herself. Even Sheila's lookin at them as if thinking "gawd damn!" Mira calls (met her in reception) with a bright pink backdrop behind her. Arrgh my eyes are burning like rings of fire! And it burns, burns, burns... that ring of fire. The ring of fire.

Mira invites her out to a club and Sheila's all "yeah in one hour, I just got up here bish!" Sheila then proceeds to take a one hour shower. Inga doesn't go out because surprise surprise , she needs one. She probably didn't want to be a harpy over it but man that Sheila doesn't think of anyone but herself. What on earth was she doing in there for one hour anyway? I get the feeling she came out dirtier than when she first went in. Amirite? Booyeah! Someone highfive me so I can continue this review.

Inga's in the shower trying to stay upright. She puts on a dress and heads for the elevator. She then gawks at the mysterious person pointing a gun at her, says "what are you doing?" and stands there for a full 5 seconds till the killer wakes up and shoots. The disco looked genuine, but that pink backdrop made another appearance. Now it's combined with rapid flashing disco effects. Great.

Mira is next for the grinder as she's assassinated from the ceiling in a bathroom. So we can either conclude either A) the killer is a ninja or B) a supernatural creature. Sheila doesn't bother looking for her, assuming Mira's gone off with some guy and leaves. First she takes a one hour shower at the expense of Inga, now she's ditching Mira on a wild assumption?

The talent show goes on as planned. We see a variety of activities from singing to lifting up weights. The applause is thunderous as the first finalists step up, then Sheila is announced and hilariously the room falls silent. Gee could it be because she's an uncaring, self-centered, borderline sociopath (like me, but I look sexier in a sports bra).

Surprisingly the overall winner is a woman whose lips encompass her entire face. She gets a bullet to the head (what little head there is) on stage. The killer chases after Sheila (don't know why) and she's revealed to be the judge. Sheila cuts the killer down with a hokeystick. The end. Did I miss something? We were given no motivation for the judge. That final showdown seemed like the perfect time for an E v i l [Evil] monologue. Also we're not led to believe that this old bat can hang from ceilings.

I didn't enjoy this one bit. The main character isn't likeable, the editing wasn't double checked, the dialogue was bland and the plot has more holes than my socks. At least the music was fine and you managed to utilize the mod's potential.

    2 Stars

    Starcruiser Ares Episode 1 http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/150556

This is clearly a script in movie form which as you said, is a demonstration. I can't provide much help on the plot since it's not clear without dialogue. The Captain going down with the away-team, especially when they know it's a potentially hostile situation seemed a bit unrealistic. That only happens in Star Trek shows. We can tell those faceless marines are crapping their pants knowing they'll not live past this episode!

You'll want to head for www.newgrounds.com audio portal for some copyright free music instead of using those generic in-game tracks. Just remember to credit the artist. There should be a voiceactor thread on the forums somewhere, but I prefer to scout for talent by simply watching other people's movies. That way you know exactly what you're getting.

Remember that many TMOers are no longer impressed with a fight scene, we've seen it all before. To compensate you'll have to have a G o o d [Good] plot with unique editing. There doesn't seem to be much time to establish the characters personalities from what I've seen thus far.

Color-Blind Ninja is a superhero I created, visit the one-minute action hero thread to find out more about him. The link I provided is just a "commercial" showing his skills. Writers Block - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/149929

Nice_calves's microphone sucks! There I said it. Just because you're tired of hearing it, doesn't change how it's the suckiest suck that ever sucked. It's a huge shame because his voice was so suitable for the role.

The movie focuses on Mr Roger Carpenter, a writer who is under pressure from his boss to complete his work within the schedule. Unfortunately he has writers block. You hit the jackpot with a theme like this. Writers Block is something the entire community can relate with. Who hasn't been infected by this nasty condition at least once whilst writing a script? Thrown in some cute jokes and we've got a party.

Roger goes on a quest to cure this foul curse, often resorting to strange measures. It's a bit like an episode of Brainiac where they try and find the best way to stop hiccups. Do any of these solutions genuinely work? Who knows. It's probably all just superstitious mumbo jumbo. Following the suggestions of various sources he goes through newspapers, Internet sites and women, none of which yield results. In the end the problem eventually solves itself, leading us to believe there is no quick fix, it'll be over when it's over.

The quips didn't have me gasping for breath in laughter, but then again they were never intended too. Witty dialogue provokes a quick smirk and add a touch of humour to this artist's dilemma. It was easy to tell how much fun the director had making this.

Overall - a great movie which was brought down with a silly technical problem just enough to rob it of a well deserved 5 stars. I'd love to see the whole thing redone if nice-calves ever plans on getting a new microphone.

For some reason Birdo clearly has the voice of a Japanese man in this trailer. It's like... eating a cake. You expect the cake to be delicious, but when you bite into it, it sounds like a Japanese man. See what I'm trying to say here?

    Hated - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/150066

Narrated by a shady character who provides his philosophical opinion, Hated is a short film which closely examines the meaning of hatred, and perhaps silently asks us to look at ourselves. I would usually despise people like Skid, but you've gone and humanized him. Why is it such a shock everytime we find out some scumbag is not a one-dimensional label? Or has a brain? Or plays Hungry Hungry Hippos with the kids during weekends?

Skid dazzles us with his vast vocabulary, first giving an example of his hatred towards an individual and then a group. I'll just quietly reflect in the corner, rather than bore you with my own lengthy contribution on this subject.

The dialogue was clever. The message was powerful. At first I thought the music was bizarre for this type of movie but it quickly served to emphasize the point. Decent editing. Superb voiceacting. I just can't find anything wrong with this. It doesn't help that I absolutely love these thought-provoking movies when done properly. They're so rare that my mind often wanders to the very foundations of TMO to find a comparison, but at least I can get high on nostalgia. Suddenly the works of Hero164 and Stevostanley live on in my memory once again.

    Hard Life - http://movies.lionhead.com/movie/150559

Hard Life is a story on childhood abuse and how negative experiences change a person.

Robert sits in a chair with a glazed look in his eyes as he drifts off into distant memories. Through his childhood we watch a conversation between his father and mother. His parents notice he's listening, probably due to the heavy breathing which would wake a Snorlax. His dad then proceeds to beat six shades of crap out of him. The grainy effects and editing shined in this area, though it's a tad odd that Robert barely made a sound while being beaten.

Fast forward and we watch Becky break up with Robert because she's afraid of him. We didn't get to see scary Robert first-hand so while it's a fair example of significant events changing people's lives, there was no "nail on the head" as it were.

The script tested the skills of your voiceactors to their limits and they happily took on the challenge, skillfully displaying powerful emotions. Music was well placed. It stopped during most conversations, sneaking in when appropriate.

Robert discusses the theme of this movie with Jo who comes up with a clever answer instantly. Then they share their feelings and say things like "I love you man" with hugs. I ask you, what guy talks like this?! We can't do that without being considered homosexual. Perhaps the bond of childhood friends goes beyond society's silly unwritten rules, I wouldn't know.

I wasn't satisfied with the ending. Call me over-dramatic, but I would have preferred something a little more... dramatic? It's positive. I half expected him to shoot rainbows out of his bum. You could have had him commit suicide. Or turn him into a murderer. What, too cliché? This human thing you call happiness displeases me. I cheered when the Jedi were wiped out and I'd do it again ya hear me?!
