I doubt they removed the Hobbe to sell them seperatly, as a pre-order bonus, it would have been great to have one, but I can't see many people going out and buying one seperatly, especially as it seemed to be pretty small and undetailed.

A proper Hobbe statue/figure, maybe, but not for that thing.

see Its a small chatty nasty looking thing, a lot of people saw the lil hobbe figurine in the dev diary (number 6 i think) then instantly thought it was that one we were getting.

 

but still people will be upset at not receiving their one, Im ambivilant in my response to such posts and people, I can see why they are angry but at the same time I dont understand why they would want to cancel their order completely.

$10 for the Qee, cards and tin box together was a reasonable deal for us, and MS was going to make a profit. So suggesting MS did this PR nightmare to make more money is down right silly.

nope my friend that was the one that was going to be added into the Limited Edition Game, although a toy line would be fun in a way it wouldnt because the important character in the game.......IE us wouldnt be possible to make.

 

they could do all the extremes but even then it wouldnt look like our character would it now.

I'm not upset about losing THAT, but since I was getting a deal on the LE, the more the better. 

Really, I just wanted the tin.  How can you not make enough tin cases!?

I think the reason there is no tin isnt due to the same reason the hobbes arnt being included, at least not directly.

I think the reason the tin isnt being added is because well theres nothing to put in it, you dont have the cards or the figure both of which would take up space within the box.....without them, your box would seem a lil bit of a waste.

 

I still want my copy of Limited Ed to have a differant cover than the standard though

you know looking at that picture again, all they have to do is punch a hole in the top and they could hang it on the shelves to be sold. i doubt that packaging was only designed to be put in a tin box.

Lets clear some misconceptions.

1) The original LE wasn't ever going to be in a tin box. It was a special box, yes, but it wasn't tin. It was fancy cardboard, a bit like a cigar case. And as people have said, the reason it's dropped for the revised LE is because it was mostly filled by the hobbe toy...

2) The hobbe toy is on a card backing so that it fits inside said box without rattling around. That card backing is exactly the same size as a normal DVD case.

3) The full soundtrack was *never* part of the LE at any stage. That was always planned to be sold separately via Sumthing Digital (where you can also pick up other MGS soundtracks such as Halo3 and Mass Effect).

Believe me, I'm just as annoyed about it as you guys are, I was very much looking forward to having a shiny collectors edition copy of our game to hug and cherish as well.

Glen & other devs~ I know this probably upsets you guys just as much as the rest of us. You put alot of work into this game to have this happen the month of release. I for one am not going crazy mad over the whole thing. I would have loved having the special box, hobbe and cards but its not the end of the world for me. What are the chances that these hobbes may be produced and released later to purchase? But anyways, my biggest reason for buying the LE was the dlc stuff we get. The rest was just a bonus so no biggie to me.

Yeah, the devs are completely useless. Like, seriously, what have they been doing for the past three years??
