Gotta say, that Milo demonstration looked incredible. I hope something actually comes from it, and it's not just another The Room.

    Re: E3

What I liked was the enthusiastic Microsoft bod saying "We can't wait to see what's next for Solid Snake", then Mr Kojima basically going "Err, I didn't say anything about Solid Snake...."

One of these people is doing their own thing...Wink [;)]

EDIT - still, Project Natal is an interesting step in the right direction. it'll be absolutely rubbish to begin with of course, but it's foundation technology that promises to open up a lot of possibilities once people think of something interesting to do with it, and once it's refined in future iterations. Still a bit too flakey to be seriously useful for any kind of fine control as of yet by the looks of things, but the point is more that it opens up new ways of interacting.

    Re: E3

Milo struck me as a ridiculously advanced tamagochi!

And who said you couldn't see a use for it in games? erm ... lets see, when has AI ever been useful in a computer game? erm ... damn that's tough Wink [;)]

For one think about the implications for something like the Fable franchise where the dog or child would actually respond to your emotions ...

Or if you are more action/FPS orientated, a squad member that won't jump in the way of you shooting, or would actually follow commands rather than do their own thing and end up getting shot easily ...

I'd be happy just to prat about with Milo for a G o o d [Good] few days/weeks, something like Spore & Little Big Planet, but that's because I just like to play ... >.> if they can encorperate it into a computer game then even better.

G o o d [Good] to see LH still pushing the boundaries of AI!

    Re: E3

Ubisofts conference today have to be the most boring thing i have ever watched and ea's wasnt great either... Especially dantes inferno has crap written all over it.

    Sony :

Uncharted 2 was amazing, nothing less... Damm i love naughty dog.

MAG was meh. Looks like they focus more on having +250 players than making the game G o o d [Good]. Not excited at all.

Psp go : Meh way too expensive... I already got a big ass SD card for my normal psp so i dont need extra space.

Hannah Montanna for psp : OMFG MEGATON MUST BUY - DAY ONE.

Rockstar exclusive sounds intereting but nothing shown ?!

Ass creed 2 looked surprisingly G o o d [Good] and i gace the first a lot of hate.

Final fantasy 13 gave me a hard on.

Final fantasy 14 sounds interesting but it's a mmo... Hmm maybe.

New controller... The tech looked G o o d [Good] but just like the natal and wiimote i dont want to use it really... i just want a damm controller.

Little big planet looking racer : Mario kart mixed with little big planet sounds nice... Hope it's G o o d [Good] but didnt capture the coolness of little big planet.

Trico : Oh yeah all over my face... Most wanted title together with Alan wake and heavy rain.

Gran turismo 5 : looked pretty G o o d [Good] but i am sick of realistic racers at the moment.

God of war 3 : Looked really G o o d [Good] but i'm not much into the genre... But will be sure to check it out.

All the numbers were damm boring with sony but some really G o o d [Good] stuff other than that.

    Re: E3

Sony's camera/motion control system looks rather G o o d [Good]. As far as I can tell it's far more accurate than anything else touted to date, which is an obvious barrier thus far. Could open up the way for some G o o d [Good] stuff if it has the level of fine control it looks like it *might* have. Of course, it could also end up as a pile of Wii Sports games...
Anyway. A stack of stuff for PS3 and PSP. Or, more to the point, a stack of the kind of stuff I bought a PS3 for. Enough to keep me happy at any rateWink [;)]

    Re: E3

Yeah it looked really accurate but again i didnt find it one bit interesting with the stuff the showed. I like how it looks like a dildo with light in though, will make for awkward moments when a friend finds that in your house.

    Re: E3

I think I fell asleep sitting through Nintendo's press conference. Pretty weak showing if you ask me. Was not at all excited about the New Super Mario Brothers for Wii (really, it took you long that to come up with that)?

Galaxy 2 looks pretty much the same as the first one...maybe with a different tweak or two...still no interest.

The only two games that really caught my eye was Golden Sun and the new Metroid game...though both of those release in 2010 and well...my patience and interest won't hold that long.

Sony's conference was also ok. Too much talking and not enough showing. Plus their motion control tech wand looked like a very dirty toy.Cheeky [:cheeky:] Only ones that really caught my eye was God of War and the Team Ico project. Wish they would have announced a price drop though.Sad [:(]

Out of them all, I think MS had the strongest showing this year IMO, followed by Sony. I care more for announcements, gameplay, exclusive trailers and other fancy stuff, not power-points, hardware/software sales and how one is in a big ocean.Tired [:tired:]

That rather depends if your friends think you're the kind of person who'd keep a dildo in his living room, I suppose...

To be honest, I strongly suspect Sony wouldn't have shown anything as far as their motion tracker goes if it hadn't been widely anticipated that Microsoft would be showing something similar. Hence it looking a bit rushed and not having anything with a WOW factor to flog it with. I very much get the impression this was a case of just showing something now to avoid the inevitable 'copycat' accusations if they'd shown it later, regardless of the patent being filed last year.

But I'm definitely pleased that both Microsoft and Sony are exploring new ways to interact with their consoles. Shows they're at least thinking about the futureWink [;)]

I don't think I'd like NATAL for gaming, but for watching movies and the like, it looks G o o d [Good]...  I have to think however that the "G o o d [Good] night" voice command would accidentally turn it off ALL THE TIME

I guess that all depends on what the developers do with it. If Project Natal is used for gimmick games like crappy shovelware, then yeah it will be useless. But if the developers actually come up with something cool for it and make it work, then I would have no problem with it.

But the other stuff like flipping through the tabs and all? I like it and would use it for that. Hell, that would be my only reason.^^ [^^]

I saw the video last night, so far it's looking G o o d [Good]. So long as they add in these new features (Yoshi, other power ups, and so on) without ruining the original game, it should be all right.

Yeah, 90% is supposed to be new and I do have a feeling Yoshi will still be there be. Plus you have a new item at your disposal.

I also think there will be some new moves and some of the older ones might have been tweaked a tad. Not sure though.

    Re: E3

I am both excited and afraid when it comes to Monkey Island. I love the games! Just played through the third in the series and loved it!

Why am I afraid? I'm afraid that they may go overboard with the jokes, and I really didn't like LeChuck's voice (is it the same guy? It can't be!) at all. Still, not judging the game until I see something more of it.

I also didn't like Threepwood with a beard.
