    Please Help.

Every time I try to play The Movies: Stunts & Effects I get a error report. The Movies works just fine but as soon as I install Stunts & Effects I get the error report. When I go on the Can You RUN it? website it says that I fail for both The Movies and Stunts & Effects. It says my video card isnt G o o d [Good] enough but The Movies works just fine. I really want to play on Stunts & Effects!

Erm, i guess your video card isn't G o o d [Good] enough then. Sorry but that seems to be a pretty open and shut case if you've checked out the online specs. I'd say you are lucky to get The Movies to run, rather than unlucky that S&E doesnt work.

    cheers

Damn Sad [:(]. It's really strange, even The Sims 2 works. I really want it to work because iv just downloaded a modding tool for it and i want to get stuck in! How come The Movies works but Stunts & Effects doesnt? Thanks.

    Re: Please Help.

Stunts and Effects has better graphic effects in it and few new features, which need better graphic processing than the original game.
What graphics card are you using? Sometimes the card is simply not compatible with the game. Actually, you might want to post your entire system specs (usually a given for tech threads) in case there's anywhere else where your system is lacking. Video card information is most important though, seeing as though that's where your system apparently doesn't cut it.

PC's are often fiddly because hardware is made by many different manufactorers, which can cause many compatibility issues.

    Re: Please Help.

I copied this from that Can You Run It? website.

You Have: Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family (Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset)

I really want to get this to work. How much would i have to spend on a new Video Card if one is needed. I would go back to playing just the movies but i really want Stunts & Effects to work.

    Re: Please Help.

I don't really know much about Intel graphics cards. Normally it's either ATI or Nvidia nowadays, which may be one reason why you're having compatibility issues with S&E, but I'm not fully sure. Is that a laptop graphics card?

One thing you can try is updating the drivers. I believe it's the second download here.

As far as purchasing a new card goes, check the back of the games case. It lists supported graphics cards. Although others will work with the game you can run into issues, like you have.

    Re: Please Help.

Yeah I do use a laptop. Thanks for the help so far! The copy of S&E I use is a old copy and so is my copy on The Movies. Do you think buying new copies would help? Because I have had them both installed (same discs) on a laptop that is less powerful than the one i'm using now.

    Re: Please Help.

No, the only time when you should need to buy new copies is if they (or the key codes) are lost or damaged. If they have no/very few scratches on them they should be working fine. The website that tells you if your system is powerful enough says it's the video card so I'd be inclined to think it's the hardware that is at fault.

Did you try updating your drivers from the link I gave in my previous post? If your graphics card was G o o d [Good] enough to run The Movies then updating them might bring them up to speed to run S&E, worth a try at least.

    Re: Please Help.

    Yeah, sorry about that.

Try using this link instead. Straight to Intels website. Just select your operating system and you're ready to go. Hopefully. Stick out tongue [:P]
