Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
I like the ideas popping up here, really creative stuff.
Listen Well, Mortals and fellow Divines, for thou shalt now receive Thy Suggestions:
ok, so here's a list of what i want to see in the next game.....both feasible and fantastic ![Wink [;)]](/Emoticons/wink.gif)
Creatures:
More variety of creatures would be great. I really missed the plethora of godly friends in Creature Isle. I would really like to see a Dragon and a Phoenix in B&W3, cause Dragons are badass and Phoenixes are the ultimate in royal creatures.
Creature variety could go beyond just species, they could also be more inclined towards certain miracles - this is a rehash of previous suggestions, but one that could go a long way towards establishing a Creature's unique identity.
Creature personality should really be added back into the game. Perhaps the developers should take a look at what they promised us in B&W2 and deliver that, at least. However, i feel that this is an area that should be explored thoroughly. I would really like to see an option to play with your Creature (Otherwise, the toy ball is just redundant). Creature gender should also be an option. It is kinda boring to be raising a male Creature again...again...and again. I would also like to see the Creature respond to his or her God and the environment more actively. I really missed the days when i would zip past and my old Tiger would greet me enthustiathically.
Warfare:
![Good [Good]](/Emoticons/good.gif) is really, really, boring to play because you have to be utterly pacifistic in your actions to be the Ultimate ![Good [Good]](/Emoticons/good.gif) . So far, i've seen lots of temptations to the way of ![Evil [Evil]](/Emoticons/evil.gif) , but rarely that of ![Good [Good]](/Emoticons/good.gif) . So, maybe (This is a BIG maybe) an alternative way to good is in order. Let's say that a village is being viciously oppressed by it's rulers. The people are living in hovels, eating weeds etc. A ![Good [Good]](/Emoticons/good.gif) god has the option to lead a Crusade against the oppressors and slaughter the opposing army, freeing the people. The fighting itself would be neutral, since fighting the Forces of ![Evil [Evil]](/Emoticons/evil.gif) is (arguably) justified and your alignment shifts towards good once you achieve victory. This offers a way to spice things up for the ![Good [Good]](/Emoticons/good.gif) and let them partake of some guilty pleasure ![Wink [;)]](/Emoticons/wink.gif)
Of course, harming the citizens is a major no-no and will remain an evil act.
Avatars(?)
We've heard it all before: "Your Creature is your avatar in this world blah blah blah..."
However, nothing compares to getting things done yourself. I suggest that Gods be given the power to manifest on the earth as Avatars, superpowered beings that roam the land, leading their armies and completing specialised quests. If you read up, the Greek Gods( IRL) regularly manifest as avatars in the various myths and legends (How'd you think old Herc was born? Zeus rolled around with his mother!)
This power should come at a great cost. Following Orcid's Manifestation idea, This ability will require tremendous belief to manifest, so it isn't available to younger gods.
Also, you aren't able to cast full miracles in Avatar form, just minimized versions. For example, casting fireball in God form would be devastating, while in Avatar form, that fireball is just enough to take out 4 or 5 people in a small area, at the most. The Avatar would, however, be able to affect people and objects outside your influence ring! Imagine manifesting in Avatar form and marching up to an enemy's gates, loudly advertising your Godliness...and frying the first fool who says otherwise. Influence gain will be minimal at best, though.
Army units:
This area isn't developed enough to be fun. A fourth unit type wouldn't hurt. I think that Elite units could be a possible addition. They're basically upgrades of the odinary units that you will have to research or obtain through a quest. They'll take longer to train and be more expensive, but they'll tear through the enemy ranks like a hot knife through butter. For the Greeks, they could be Spartans, the Norse would have Berserkers, The Aztecs would have Warrior Chieftains and the Japanese would have Samurai Lords and so on and so forth. If they bring the Celts back, it would be cool to have Knights at your command, but i digress.
Miracles:
This one's simple: More miracles, bigger explosions and some ![Good [Good]](/Emoticons/good.gif) Epic miracles would really make my day.
Suggestions for ![Good [Good]](/Emoticons/good.gif) Epics:
Nature's Bounty -- Increase fertility of the land for 2 minutes (double the resource collection rate. e.g. odinarily, worker collects 100 food per second, but after this epic is used, he collects 200. Savvy?)
Smite -- Causes damage according to the alignment of the opponent within target area.Does not affect civilians Takes a loooong time to charge, even longer than the volcano.( ![Good [Good]](/Emoticons/good.gif) : Immune, Neutral: Immune, Slightly ![Evil [Evil]](/Emoticons/evil.gif) : Minor damage to units and structures, Very ![Evil [Evil]](/Emoticons/evil.gif) : Kiss your ass goodbye, foul fiends!)
Angelic Host -- Summons a host of 20 extremely powerful Angel Warriors to your aid for 5 minutes. Usable only by ![Good [Good]](/Emoticons/good.gif) . They'll be able to mince everything sent your way, but they'll get weaker the farther they are from your ring of influence. Recommended for defensive purposes only.
Suggestion for extra ![Evil [Evil]](/Emoticons/evil.gif) Epic:
Corrupt -- The same as smite, but more ![Evil [Evil]](/Emoticons/evil.gif) -oriented (Meaning the good get smashed but the evil live long and evil lives. Geddit?)
Citadel:
Bring it back! Bring it back! I want to see my Tower of Hope/ Bastion of Despair rising above the horizon again!
Thats it for now.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
How about a semi-influence around armies etc, where spells cost double etc, but can be used near your troops, while outside your influence. This would put some godliness into the warfare.
Internet problems fixed...
Looks like I'm back.

Possibly, but I'm not sure. I think it would work if they weren't within a set distance of an enemy army, creature or city, otherwise you could go straight up to an enemy army and electrocute them all.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
I'm more then 1/2 way through b/w2 as a player of part one there are some definate things missing from part 2, that I would like to see in the third installment.
MULTIPLAYER!!!!!
More involvement with the Creature (It seems he's a tad too self sufficient after showing him a few things checking his learning and self taught menu, a few slaps he's just off to the races.)
The amount of miracles from version 1, was great and they were useful... there are what 5 in version 2 and I hardly ever even need to use them....
---
So far in bw/2 all I seem to be doing is god building and managing troops. :/

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
get rid of certain creature upgrades, i wanna grind and teach my creature spells the old bw1 way, weve lost that bonding time with our wee pets, the badass spells could take way longer to learn, and obviously epics are out of bounds.
youve covered things like army units n stuff before so i wont repeat but id really like to see a 3rd game reintroduce multiple gods and elements from bw1 gameplay, like impressing villages and towns. maybe bigger cities would require an all out assault or making a hugely better city. epicness is the key word in my mind when it comes to bw3
and lastly for now, elements from fable 2 ![Big Smile [:D]](/Emoticons/grin.gif) (assuming the things that weve heard are in the game, are in the actual game) id like to go back to past lands and see how the ai had continued to grow my settlements, this same ai being responsible for enemy settlements, rebuilding and expanding relentlessly.
sadly i reckon itll be a long time before bw3 ![Sad [:(]](/Emoticons/depressed.gif)
(enough time to rip off ideas from spore ![Big Smile [:D]](/Emoticons/grin.gif) )
i hope you all realise how close i got to "69" karma on the old boards

Well that pretty much wraps up exactly how I feel about the game. There isnt enough miracle casting to impress and not nearly enough miracles!

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
How about we get to make our own creatures, like on that Spore game, except, this can just be a mix of many different animal parts, but not too weird looking, so you could mix the wolf with the cow and the lion to have one bigger being, or whatever, just loads of different things.
Or maybe not, since the game may get flamed for copying Spore.

if B&W 3 is made they should put it on the 360, they also need to put B&W2 on the 360

To be fair, I can't see how B&W would work on the 360. How would you control and navigate the hand using a 360 controller instead of a mouse? Or are you guys talking about using a mouse on the 360? I don't own one, so I don't know if that's possible ![Ermm [:ermm:]](/Emoticons/ermm.gif) .

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
Putting BW, BW2 and BW3 is, I'm sorry, a horrific idea. The control would be messed up completely.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
I think the military system should be given a greater depth...
Here's how it should work: You have your barracks and archer barracks, but there's also Stables for cavalry, Chapels for priests, and Temples for mages. You can apply up to three different "classes" to a worker, and once you do, they become Heroic, and get extra powers.
For Chapels, you can put a Heal or Shield into some part of it, and that is the spell the new Priests use, until you replace that Miracle with another.
For Temples, it's similarly a choice of Fireball, Lightning, etc.
This will mean that you'll have mixed units fighting in much more complex battles, and the strategies you use will also be wider. You can use mages as artillery, priests as medics, and various Heroes as leaders to the battles.
Sounds like fun to me...

I like the idea of mages and priests who use miracles, but how would heroes be made? Would you have to grant them immortality? Or send them on a quest to slay a beast, with your help although he'll get all the credit.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
In the first B&W it was way too easy to be evil, and in B&W2 it was way too hard to be evil.
I had to constantly be throwing around villagers, killing off my entire village, starving them... generally being painfully evil to be an evil god. The only way to be evil was to keep killing off hordes of villagers, but that meant a smaller military.
Maybe it's just me... I dunno, but I tended to build villages just as impressive being evil, and capture fewer opposing villages because I had a smaller military.
Maybe I'm just not clever enough to be evil in B&W2, and maybe I'm too lazy to be good in B&W1. Who knows.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
You've just installed the game, and you click the white3.exe for the first time...
There's the menu, like the B&W2, instead of just loading the game like the 1st one. But like the first one, when you type in your name you also pick a symbol... but on top of that, maybe a symbol editor to add some more personality to things.
Then you start the game... introduction video, and it's actually different this time around. Then you choose the starting place for your first town and/or temple/citadel. Most people here liked the first game's temple more right? Well how about choosing where to put it, within reason, and which direction it's facing? What about how it looks?
But also... after watching the intro video and being ********ted by your conscience a little bit about being god, and good vs evil stuff... you choose which race you start as. Your conscience explains the traits of each race in the same way they do the creatures, and they each say "pick this one because...." the way they do about the creatures too. Then you choose between the Norse, Egyptian, Aztec, Celtic, Japanese, Greek, American Indian, or whatever... maybe one or two of those races or even different ones can be unlocked later in the game so when you start a new profile you have more options.
I've got things to do... I'm done typing. Just some ideas to work with.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
Yeah... I cut myself short on that last post. And now I've forgotten what else I had in mind.
Well.
Do you think people would be a bit more open to the idea if they got to choose which race they play with? The gameplay itself wasn't affected by being the same race, it just makes things less interesting.
If one gets to choose then it add some personality to things, because just like playing a RTS, each race has different traits. The different creatures affect that too.
Ooh ooh, idea... how about you choose your starting race and you set up your base of operations. Then the race you start as on the island proceeding that is affected by your actions and completion of the previous? Eh? And of course, as you progress through the game, you encounter the different races, thus making things continually interesting. If you play your cards right, you might be the same race for the entire game.
The only way for this to work is, of course, if it reflected the first game in the sense that there were a few different races on each island.
Yeah? No?

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
On the first land you start out as the Norse or whatever, the other races on the island are Egyptian and Greek. When you go to the next island you start there as either Egyptian, Greek, or Norse.
Let's say you go with Egyptian and the opposing races are Japanese, Norse and Celtic. After that you proceed to the third island as either Egyptian, Japanese, Celtic, or Norse.
With that idea, you do get to choose which race you are.
Earlier I was also unthoughtfully talking about "unlocking" different races later in the game. It wasn't something I'm really set on, as it's not really the sort of thing I would see Black & White doing, but it's just reminiscent of video games that give you new options after you beat the game or doing certain things.
The things I suggest are merely ideas to work with.
I find that even bad ideas can help give people new, good ideas.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
Support for a PhysX card - you could have genuine rain and waterfalls and stuff, and i can't get the idea out of my head of a tornado doing things like in the Cellfactor revolution trailer i just watched - then also the throwing mechanics, fur, villagers clothing and everything would be amazing!
Maybe as well the ground would be fully deformable when you rain down meteorites! That way you could have a choice of walls or moats to protect your towns? I like the idea of a deformable landscape, and you shouldn't need specific hardware accelerated physics to do that
And I often think the Tibetans should definitely be in - their towns would be really colourful like the wonder in B&W1!
Large Hadron Collider - because fleshlites are for wusses

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.
1) BW3 should not be on a console, unless it has a mouse of some sorts, for control (and to prevent "Consolitis" for the PC version) How about a Gamepad with a ball mouse built in? Or see if it will work on the Wii. Imagine the fun when throwing things. ¬_¬
2) Go with the idea of the choice of starting tribes. That is good.
3) A branching storyline is a must.
4) As is decent physics...
5) ...and AI that provides a challenge.
That was another pennyworth from me. I must have about a quid stored up here by now.
Internet problems fixed...
Looks like I'm back.
