You stand correct.  PS3 will have it all one of these days. 

The only reason some people still like xbox is because XBL is better than the ps3s online and halo 3. But from what I hear online on ps3 has more mature people.

Killzone (2 havent played but looks better than halo 3)

Infamous (looks amazing)

Uncharted 2 (havent seen much of or played the first but is supposed to be )

God of war 3 ( not my type of game but w/e)

Xbox has Divinity 2 ( looks fun)

Mass effect 2 ( didnt like the first one but many people did)

Well my 360 died and I have considered buying a ps3 instead of chancing onother RRoD, but I dont know which one to choose, there are to many fanboys giving biased arguments so please dont turn this into a xbox rules or xbos sucks thread Thanks.

Man.. my advice is simply to look within yourself, take a few days to weigh your own heart in the matter. I know I how you feel, and in this economic storm we are all weathering, it's best to make what we feel is a wise investment. even concerning the smallest things in our lives. I know here in the states you can buy a warranty for four years at walmart, in the event the 360 breaks you get to return it and pick up a new 360. I was curious if there was anything along those lines in the UK for you guy's?  I wish you well, and I hope you make the best decision for YOU.

I hear a lot of people arguing that with a ps3 the online is free and the xbox is not. But when you take in account the price of each console the 360 still works out cheaper.          

Also no console I have ever owned has died yet - including the 360 (owned for 2yrs+)

 

I cannot comment on the ps3 though since I do not have one and I have only played on it for a short while from the few ps3 owners around my location

I cant say how big the price diffrent is wherever you live but here but if you have online for 3 years the ps3 is cheaper... I expect my console to last at least 3 years more. That is also including a game (diffrent depending on which shop for some reason... But LBP most places) a bigger hd and a blu ray player, sounds a hell lot cheaper to me.

Anyway if you dont care for any of that 360 will be cheaper, but i sure want all of it (except the hd part... Already changed mine to a much larger).

It all comes down to who got the best exclusives and if you want the stuff ps3 have that 360 doesnt. All i would care for on 360 is lionheads games.

Not cleared I hear it just reduces chances of it happening, as for online XBL is far from best havent played others but heared they were more mature unlike the people on halo 3 or CoD4 who scream and swear and generally ruin any chance of fun.

Or not. Most people here aren't 360 fanboys, even if Microsoft did take Lionhead, ruin the forums and make a disgrace of it (which, come to think of it, isn't a strong foundation of fanboyism).

And what's this Lionface that you keep going on about?

The greatest Lionhead fans are the PC gamers. We were buying and playing their games when you 360 owners were still in gaming nappies. And I think the PS3 is a superior console. Sue me.

I think you should change your statement to "most of you 360 players were still in nappies .." not all of us 360 owners only know of Lionhead because of 360, some of us have sampled the delights of the Movies, Black and White previous bullfrog fun too.

I refer to Lionhead as Lionface to amuse myself, yes I am that easily amused.

Anyway to be a bit more constructive with my arguemnt that previously, it depends what games you like, I personally love rpg's and 360 now has a abundancy of great RPG titles, and more to come.

Agreed.  That was my reasoning for selecting a 360. much better rpg games.  That is my thing.

I'm afraid that says more about you than about anything else really, if my comments so deeply affected you in this way. (Pedanticism is not criticism, but then by pointing that out you could argue I'm being slightly pedantic, but I'm sure you'll admit the mistake was big enough to warrant pointing out once you actually look up the word).
Regardless, you should have been able to infer I was using hyperbole and obviously didn't mean all Xbox 360 owners. I didn't even mark my sentence for number, so there.

It has a better gpu and better online, even if its not free. its a  "you get what you pay for" situation. both consoles have their issues. if you get a 360, get a new one. They newer ones have slightly different hardware, and getting an error on either console is unlikely if you take care of it.

how is it better for gaming? controllers are a matter of preference, type of games are a matter of preference ... for me the PS3 is better for gaming and better for multimedia ... but that is because I never bought into the Gears of War and Halo franchises...

I also think the 360 t has a better game lineup.

the best game I played last year was Uncharted: Drakes Fortune ... It was miles better than anything else (Fable 2 not included because I was having freezing issues with it so have only been playing it this year )

Other games like Little Big Planet and Metal Gear Solid are absolutely brilliant ...

don't get me wrong the 360 has some great games, but I genuinely think that if it wasn't for the fact Lionhead were making fable 2 I probably wouldn't have brought the 360, the majority of the games I own for both are available for both ...

I call lies on that ... the PS3 gpu is much more powerful ... and I don't care what they say about how "elegant" or "refined" it is, when it comes to having to put those spectacular graphics on a screen you need the grunt, not that I think either console has been pushed to the max so far ...

Lies again, there is no difference, none at all ... In fact the PS3 with PSN offers more than the 360 does ... with the whole social networking aspect in Home ... as well as the fact it is free ...

How? I buy left4dead for the 360 and have to pay to go online, I buy it for the PC and it's free ... how is that "getting what you pay for" it's just called being a mug ... microsoft are perenial money makers and they do it well, but Live! is one thing that they really REALLY shouldn't charge for!

Well yeah, because they had to refine the architecture so that the solder didn't melt, replace the DVD drive so that the drive was less noisey and generally make the console less of the elephant in the corner ... no joke, my heating broke in the winter, I just whack the 360 on and it kept me nice and tosty warm!

and getting an error on either console is unlikely if you take care of it.

That's utter rubbish, my consoles are dusted regularly, barely moved if I can help it, I have no pets or small children to damage them and I play them a healthy amount (it's what they are for, using!) and my 360 RRoD'd on me, no rhyme nor reason after 18 months!

It's not even a lotter as to whether your 360 will die, it's just inevitable ... I hear far fewer horror stories about the PS3, I know Sony bricked a few when they released a dodgey firmware update, and there has been a few issues with one or two games, but otherwise it's got a clean bill of health, as it should because it's a damned expensive piece of hardware when all is said and done!

to put it into perspective, I can still buy a working SNES from ebay, but I wouldn't dream of buying a used 360 from ebay ...

It just so happens that the GPU is not the be all and end all of graphics if you're doing stuff for fixed hardware, and the Cell CPU can do some impressive stuff once it's part of the graphics pipeline. Hence Killzone 2.

Not that it matters - Okami is still the best looking game ever made, and that ran on the PS2

Look it up. The 360 has a 512 mb graphics card. its significantly more than what the PS3 has(256 mb, I think). Xbox live is better than PSN. We arent talking about PC here( PC is always superior.) Its better supported. Home was a total bomb with no point. You can do a wide variety of things on live that you can't do on PSN(still not worth the money though. but im just saying)

360 does have issues, more than PS3 but its reduced. My friends PS3 bricked after a firmware update. we had to wipe his harddrive clean. my 360 hasnt had problems yet and i have a warranty if it does at least. So i still stick with what i said before. If your willing to bear the risk, get a 360 for games. get PS3 for a more rounded experience.
