Try to google it. It's not a normal error with Bnw2.

I don't think yor graphicscard is supported. Install the latest drivers and directX for it, and see if it works. If not, then it's your internal graphicscard that isn't supported.

Apoc's right. Black and White 2 requires a 64MB video card with 1.1 Pixel Shader support. Yours only as 16MB display memory and I don't think it has Pixel Shader 1.1 either... It's pretty much impossible to change a laptop's graphics chip so you'll either need to get a new one or play on a PC.

    Re: Bug/Glitch Reporting thread.

Name of Bug: Fatal Error Possible cause: Unknown Type of bug: Unknown Your System specs: Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT, Sound Device: Realtek HD Audio rear output, Graphics settings: Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768, Refresh Rate: 75 Hertz, Colour Quality: Medium (16 Bit) What the bug is doing: Whenever I start up the game, a small window with LIONHEAD as the heading appears, and about a second later, a bigger version of the window with LIONHEAD as the heading appears with that "Error" bing you receive. Nothing happens, nothing loads, so I push the windows key on the keyboard and on the taskbar it shows another window titled "Fatal Error". I click on it, but nothing happens, so I can't say what type of error it is. I've tried re-installing the game, but it still happens. I've gotten the update patches for the game, it still happens. It worked for a while, but then my Uncle took in my computer to get a new Graphics Card installed. Note: After I got it back after the graphics card was installed, the first graphics card didn't work, and I couldn't play the game or even run my computer. So we got a different Graphics Card installed and this time the computer works, but the game does not. I can not find an update for this graphics card because I can't find it on the nvidia site. Plus I'm afraid downloading something will ***** it up.

Is your card still the Nvidia GeForce 7600GT? If so, then try downloading and installing these drivers: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_91.31.html

    Re: Bug/Glitch Reporting thread.

I'm not totally sure about this but I think the Collectors Edition is on DVD. This means you must have a DVD-Drive to read the disc, a CD-Drive wont recognize it. Forget this if you think it's obvious and you have a DVD-Drive. Wink [;)] Do you have the chance to test the disc on another computer?

Everest can read out every system information and this includes the optical drives features too. Wink [;)] This is a trial version because the freeware version is abandoned.

Name of Bug: Unknown Possible cause: Unknown Type of bug: Gameplay Your System specs: 3.2 GHz Pentium 4, 2 GB DDR2-SDRAM (4x512MB), ATI Radeon X800 (up-to-date drivers) Graphics settings: High What the bug is doing: I'm in the first Norse land and the children never mature to adults. It's simple as that, and I have no idea as to why this is happening. I only have 25 adults, and they have a hard time feeding over 200 children, even with 20 of them as farming disciples and plenty of fields. It's gone on like this for several real-time hours, wherein my adult population has slowly dwindled down from 32 to this.

    Re: Bug/Glitch Reporting thread.

This error is mostly caused by using a NOCD crack. Get rid off it and use your original CD/DVD to start the game. Simply as that, don't blame Lionhead if it's your fault. Wink [;)] If I'm wrong come back and we may find a solution.

    Re: Bug/Glitch Reporting thread.

I had been using a NOCD crack because my game wouldn't start with just the CD. (I didn't know it would cause gameplay issues) I use Daemon Tools v4.03HE, which should be compatible with SafeDisc4, but it still won't start up when I put CD1 in my DVD drive (and put the original .exe back). I'm forced to log onto another account to play (I'm not sure why this works) but it's a real pain to do so. I'm apprehensive to update my firmware because it seems to have no defenite manufacturer (all I know is that it's listed as "HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8163B" in the device manager and similar programs) and thus have no concrete instructions to follow. Thus, I felt that the NOCD crack would allow me the convenience of playing it on my own account. *sigh* I know this is probably the wrong thread to ask for the solution to this problem now that it's changed from gameplay to Copy Protection, but I'd appreciate any help offered.

    Re: Bug/Glitch Reporting thread.

Sorry, you wont get any tips on how to do this on the official forum. Circumventing the Copy Protection can easily be associated with pirated software and that's illegal, as you may know. Pirate [:Pirate:] Wink [;)] The Windows account problem on the other side maybe something to be discussed here. But I think there are already threads with a similar topic. Just use the search function of the forum. The varies FAQ's here in the Tech Help and in the B&W 2 forum as well, may also bring some light to your problem. If you don't find something just make a new thread with the problem in the Tech Help. Remember to post your system specification (just to be sure) and a detailed description of what the error is and what you've already tried to solve it. Good [Good] Luck. Up []

    Re: Bug/Glitch Reporting thread.

The thing is that I'm not circumventing the copy protection illegally - the copy protection is stopping me from playing with a 100% legit original (not burned copy) disc in my drive and I don't know the source of the problem. Like I said, it can't be DTools because of its version- Bah, I'll just make a new topic.

    Re: Bug/Glitch Reporting thread.

Name of Bug: Player creatute turns evil, seems to be owned by Aztec god, dies and will not regenerate once level is won Possible cause: Saving game while creature is dead from battle, then reloading that saved game Type of bug: Program logic / savegame file structure(?) Your System specs: Mobo: Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe CPU: Dual-core Athlon X2 4400 GPU: ATI Radeon X1800 RAM: 2GB PC3200 DDR400 (2x1G) HDD: 2 x 300GB sata drives (not in RAID config) VDU: Viewsonic VX2025wm 16:10 widescreen LCD Display Graphics settings: 1680x1050, 32 bit What the bug is doing: This bug applies to Black and White 2: Battle of the Gods. Partway through the first level of BW2:BotG, my creature (the turtle) turned evil and stopped responding to my leash commands. I can tell it's evil because it looks evil and where it walks, the ground turns that evil lava-ish sort of texture. When I press "L", the leash comes up, but it's sort of grey and clicking with it doesn't do anything. I thought maybe this was part of the game, and that the Aztec god might have captured him, but the Verdant and Life miracles don't seem to do anything. Also, after I beat the first land -- without my Turtle -- I saved (to go to lunch) and when I came back, my turtle was dead, and it does not come back to life no matter how long I leave it (i.e. 30+ mins real world time). Also, the body still has the "evil" ground texture underneath it. I've gone through my saved games, and I think I know what triggered this. I once saved the game with my creature dead (from a battle). The next time I loaded, it was still dead (obviously), but when it resurrected, it did so in the enemy town, and from that point on it seemed to be owned by the Aztec god.
