aging... ?

so i look under my characteristics and see 30 game days passed, yet im now 46 years old? is this a intentional design or flaw? also, i notice u have a bed in the heros guild and you can highlight it, yet i was never able to sleep in the bed i was forced to make? woe is me. age 18 to 46 in one month, and no place to delight myself late at night...

    Re: aging... ?

Aging: As in other posts, there's a good quote to go with the aging cheme of Fable. It's, "Age from Experience," or something like that. =) The more experience you pump into skills and traits levels, the more you will age. I think each level gained in Physique and Skill age you by 1 year. 2 or 3 points into each Will category ages you by 1 year. People say Will users 'age faster,' but the only reason that happens is because will users put a lot more levels into Will, since spells cost far less experience to max out or fill the first few levels in comparison to Physique and Skill.

    Re: aging... ?

It's .7 years for strength, and skill.Magic is cheaper, usually, and there's more of it for you to spend expierence on, so it appears you age faster, but you don't. I take offense to the country trash comment, as I am in the south, we don't all sound like the steryotpyes, so please refrain from them. There's also plenty of other beds to sleep in.

    Re: aging... ?

I think he meant hackny english country trash. =P Because I sure don't know any southern girls that sound like the ones in the game... at all. All of the games I've seen Lionhead make all have the people sound like they're from some part of England, so why would this one be any different? I also live in 'The South' in the US and I kind of... just don't care about the comment he made, but yeah, I can see it being offensive. So do try to be polite, people! Also, try not to take stuff too seriously. ;P

yeah, you can also try becoming younger. I suggest waiting til you're maxed out (as the limit is 65) and then donate at the temples. I've only lost a max of about 10 years combined, I am trying to see how to lose more.

listen, did i say your dad was the chic i wanted to marry in fable? lol i find it funny that i throw out a general dig about a fictitious character and your there to assume the role of thee offended. your basically offending yourself by assuming association. i mean no harm EVER.

You can loose years? as in become younger? And which temples are these? and where? Yeah a lot of questions but I'm taking my time with the game so I haven't figured out a lot yet. But I did know the Experience with age thing. And to be honest I don't find the female voices that annoying... some are but most of them are fairly normal.

Some people need more Prozac in their diet. =( Light hearted insults toward NOTHING affect no one... at least they shouldn't... and if they do, see the first sentance and replace "some people" with "you" and "their" with "your." =P And no, no bandwagon jumping here, even if someone were to say -insert random insult about America here- about the place I live. As to reverse aging, the temples reverse age something along the lines of 2 to 10 years. A good thing about one of these temples, the Temple of Avo, is that it's right in the path of one of the core quests. The quest in mention is the "Find the Archeologist" quest. You can get your stats maxed out, accept the quest, run to the temple, donate until you reverse age, hero save, then do it again. Only problem with the mutliple hero saves is that it can eventually ***** up your saved game. Don't know why, but it'll eventually slow down your game until it freezes. So what I did was only accept and save the game after losing no less than 10 years. After that, I'd hero save, then go back and keep trying to get 10 years off until I was age 25 again. =P Doing that I only hero saved 4 times so my game wasn't messed up nor was there any noticeable slowdown. It took about 7 or 8 hero saves until my game slowed down enough to freeze doing this, so I wouldn't recommend any more than 5 hero saves at a time. Edit: The language filter blocks out the word 's crew'? Minus the space, of course

    Re: aging... ?

if any one wants a way to get minimum aging through the game it is... Max your stats up as much as your happy with, then take the quest where maze asks you to find the archioligist. Go to the temple of Avo and donate to the temple till you get the gift of aging (you dont have to donate as much if your full evil) after you get the gift of aging hero save, then load the hero save and repeat the process till your age gets down to 18.

well its obviously intentional, the '30 game days past' means is just that, while playing the game, in the game world 30 days and nights have past. As for the age, 46 your age increases when you increase your characters experience (making him better in certain areas) so the age, to my understanding is just a realistic way of telling you your characters 'level' with level 65 being the highest.

Easiest way to explain this World save: Only available if you are not in the immediate area of a Quest you are currently on. Saves....where you are, attributes, everything else (including dead mercenaries, bought rare items/found items) Hero save: Only available if you ARE in the immediate area of a Quest you are currently on. Saves.... XP, Abilities, Item's currently in inventory. (If you load a character save, you will begin at the begining of the quest area and all items/mercanaries/enemies that you killed or found since entering the quest will "re-spawn") Why Hero saves are "important" there are certain rare items (Silver keys/Named weapons) which you can only get one of
One of the nicest Item's to get you can get more than one of by using the Hero save, is the XP augment in hook coast
Using the hero save while in a quest in the area, saves your items, and then reloads the ones that are in the quest area Happy [:)] In better response towards this issue
If you are on a quest at the Temple you could technically gainthe age Reduction over and over and over again, making you much younger. by using the Hero save, Gain age reduction - Hero save - re-load, rinse/repeat
Hope that clears that up....

    Age reduction:
For the temple of Skorm, bring two followers (fresh, not hurt). After midnight, wait a few seconds, then sacrifice them both. The first one will PROBABLY get you the Skorm Bow. The second one will get you the age reduction. To become younger AGAIN or if you don't want to be evil, go to the temple of avo and donate away until you hear the message of you becoming younger (usually takes 2 big donations).
Re: aging... ?

    So a brief synopsis of the aging is;

It is not how many times you step on the hero platform that decides your age it is how many experience points you assign with every visit to the platform that ages you?

So spending 10,000 exerience points in 2 visits, 5000 at a time, is the same aging as spending 10,000 experience points in a single visit?

    Thanks in advance

Yea probably but when the conversation turned from the aging question to someone getting pissy about the country bumpkin comments, and the differences in world saves to hero saves the original information got lost in a bunch of hurt feelings and side tracked into saves issues.

No offense but a simple yes or no would suffice and probably save folks alot of time. Who wants to read about hurt feelings when there is a game to be played? Smily [:)]

I have read this tip in a few places however I think it has a big flaw.

the flaw is the best levelling places (where monsters respawn such as the undead area near prison) are in the game after this quest.

the 2 big problems with ageing in this game I feel are.

    (a) you look old even when in 30s and 40s.
    (b) you age too much everytime levelling up, I modded mine to 0.2 years and far more realistic.
