I don't think this is a very common error, because google doesn't seem to tell me much. I have Windows 7 64bit on my Thinkpad T61p. So I think on the hardware side, I definitely can run the game.

When I start the game, the screen will go black, but then the game will minimise into the taskbar. I can still hear the sounds for the intros to Lionhead, Microsoft and the game movie. When I click on Fable in the taskbar, it maximises, but the screen gets black, I don't see anything (still hear sounds) and it just minimises again.

It's very weird because the first time I tried it, it worked. It got me to the point where it asked my for the settings like choosing arrows or WSAD, etc. But I just exited from there.

I think it's most likely a graphical problem. Or a Windows 7/Vista issue?

i have a windows 7 32bit on my machine and I can play the game. my graficadapter is a gma950-onboard

it is definitly a driver problem. search for a new driver !!!!
