Molyneux Plans Personal Announcement at Lionhead's Presentation Tonight....

Peter Molyneux has revealed on his twitter that he'll be making a personal announcement during Lionhead's presentation at E3 tonight.

“Just off to the show now, ready for the announcement, its not to do with any project but rather more to do with me” said Molyneux.

is this the end of Molyneux?..

I hope it isn't the end of him Sad [:(]

Surely if it was he wouldn't announce it publicly at E3.. Would he? It's intriguing, but i honestly have no idea what it could be.

I doubt it. It might have something to do with his personal, future plans.

The thought of Peter leaving brings to mind the Bilbo party speech from Lord of the Rings.

Peter: "I, uh, I h-have things to do." [fidgets with the Ring of Press Mastery behind his back. Whispers to himself] "I've put this off for far too long."

Peter: [to the crowd of journalists] "I regret to announce — this is the end. I am going now. I bid you all a very fond farewell." [whispers to Milo] "G o o d [Good]bye."

[Peter puts the Ring on and vanishes.]

    Journalists: "Oooooh!"

If he is leaving, this will be the best leaving speech in history and will forever change the way people do leaving speeches.

I really hope its something different. Quitting his job wont fit into the time of E3, especially in one breath with Milo and Kate. Maybe he is changing his role at Lionhead or he is also doing something else.

    Lmao that would be amazing.

I don't think quitting would be something you'd do at E3 so what could it be. Maybe he's admitting he's an alien from another planet

    PM tweet...

"thanks for the support everyone. Just to be clear I will still be as involved with the design of lionhead games as ever was."

Sounds like he isn't going anywhere...which is great news.

So what is the announcement?  I haven't seen it yet...

I'm quite excited after reading that article.  If he pulls the passion and innovation out of all of these developers, and they all lean a bit more towards the creative standards set by Lionhead, then we will all benefit from the great games.

Re: Molyneux Plans Personal Announcement at Lionhead's Presentation Tonight....

I realize this is an old thread, but I am pretty sure Mr. Molyneux would never quit the game industry. He is one of the few developers out there that loves the creative process. He makes games because he loves them, not just to make money. He has said that he hopes to make video games for the rest of his days. Now, I don't know if that would always be with MS.

He reportedly left EA because they kept him on the business side of things when he would rather be on the development side...Microsoft had better learn from EA's mistake and keep him where he wants to be.

What are you trying to imply?
That PM doesn't want to be Creative Director of MGS Europe?
If he didn't want to, he wouldn't have accepted the Promotion.
Being a Creative Director is the rite job for Peter, it doesn't stop him from making his games, it could actually inspire him to do more things with his games.
