Sorry to hear about your PP problems fred. I'm sure quite a few of us have at one point had some kind of situation like that. Having said that hang in there dude, I'm certainly looking forward to this film, I have been for quite some time now and it'll be worth waiting for!

UPDATE!

Massive news! I have sucessfully managed to edit the first minute and a half of footage! Now, that may sound a little crappy, but it means that the game has stopped being buggy for at least a day, so I was literally doing a little dance when it saved successfully and all that.

The irony is that it crashed trying to exit the game.... but it managed to handle the rest which is awesome!

And the bad news.... looks like OGUG isn't gonna be released until well into next year, as I have signed up for the ultimate TMOer, and WackyAl has all but disappeared, and he is pretty much key to the success of this movie, as he is the brains of this project, and it wouldn't have worked at all without all the effort he has put in.

Maybe he's just having a temporary (lack of) internet problem or something, but as soon as I get a hold of him, I'm gonna grill him for his phone number and home address, so I can call him up to shout at him next time he goes missing

On a side note, I was thinking about music.... and decided a custom score would be nice if anyone is willing.... I did already make a track or two to be used in it, so it would be a shame not to use them too, but if any of you musicians out there are interested in scoring this project, feel free to drop me a PM, and I'd be happy to have you on-board.

So, yes there will be a major delay, but I can keep that delay interesting, by plugging this movie at every opportunity on TMOA, through others on TMOA, and in the TMOA chatroom...  bweheheheheh

But, it's still a slow piece of @?#%

I have spent roughly five and a half hours in PP today (10am - 3:30 pm), and am still only six minutes and two seconds into editing. And now, the game is so buggy that it's not only adding scenes to the movie, but taking others away.... I've lost a few talk scenes which is why I couldn't carry on.

Anyway, since I know that some of you are about to get bored and lose interest, I thought I'd post the screen I'm up to (well, a fraction of a second before it, anyway)

and that should also tell Wacky roughly where I'm up to when he sees this thread again

Now I'm just trying to find the will power to go back into AMM and copy a few scenes so I can carry on editing 

So it's a question of "when" more than anything else.... so far, tomorrow looks promising, if I can get my crappy comp to run the game again

ABSOLUTELY ENORMOUSLY MASSIVE UPDATE!

ehem...

Yes, this is the third biggest update that there is left to hear, but it's not what you think it is...

Today,I finished a conversation with WackyAl, concerning OGUG. At the end, we decided that it was best to restart AMM from scratch, for three main reasons:

1. My director's skills have improved since the Ultimate TMOer
2. I work quicker since the Ultimate TMOer
3. Most of the bugs were caused by going in and out of AMM and PP over and over...

So, this evening, I've been into AMM for about half an hour (and I'll be going back in later), and have got as far as this screenshot:

Oh yes, that isn't as far as I was up to with editing, but that gives me an average of roughly one minute of complete footage (after I edit it) to every ten minutes of work in game. Now, usually, if the game is running as smoothly as it is, I spend about 15 per minute in AMM, and if you take into account that this is my second time filming it, so I'm basically making it the same but with different camera angles. Better camera angles, too.

So, as we're rocketing forward, and where we were before on the time scale we were on before looks about 9 months ahead, we'll be skipping up there in a lot less than that. I'm thinking more along the lines of 9 weeks before it's complete and maybe even released, if the game carrries on running as it is. And in my world, nine weeks is hardly anything.

So.... I suppose the real question is: will this movie be out before it's been a year of work? Who knows? Stay tuned folks...
