Mortalitis_Infinitas:I'm a little confused as to why a thread from 5 months ago got bumped back up
Funny, that's pretty much what I was thinking when I resurrected this thread. I was confused as to WHY Lionhead gave us 20Meg extra space when they KNEW the servers were at risk of dying? Also, I wanted to stir up LH a little, hoping to get a response from Woody or Sam seeing as they never reply to my PMs these days (or the thread about releasing the modding tools.) Obviously that didn't work.

anothernewdawn:I thought (and continue to think) that the fellow's response was smartass, period, and I commented on my own thread about it.
Everyone is welcome on TMU - and don't let the all-wise, all-knowing JazzX tell you different. He may report, but we invite all of you to come decide for yourselves.
A_N_D
Well - I can tell you it wasn't smartass, he was just asking for clarification of what he did wrong (I still can't work out what that was). All moderators are "off-duty" until it suits them on your site it seems. That's just confusing. You should have a special "policeman" avatar for when you do decide to go on duty.
Maybe it's a cultural thing - "yeah what's the problem?" here in England is a very innocent phrase "what did I do wrong" "how can I help rectify the situation". Maybe (I don't know) it means "yeah - what's your problem ***" or something worse in America. I think, in such cases, the new lad should be given benefit of the doubt - if that leniency leads to to them showing that they're a dickhead in a more obvious form then that's another matter entirely. But here - I'm convinced nothing malicious was meant by it. He was confused as to what he did wrong (and I agree with him) and asked for an explanation. There's surely nothing wrong with that.
My point when it comes to precious new members is that "benefit of the doubt" should be the default position where it's ambiguous. And if you hold the badge of moderator whether on-duty or off, you have an extra special responsibility to make your site as welcoming as possible - you should be crapping all over the people who would turn your site into the wild west! "we don't like strangers in our town" or "you just scraped your shoe on my cat stranger" are phrases I'd most associate, metaphorically, with Lionhead Off-Topic. Do you really want your site to be like that? Look where it's led us to!
It seems some of you do, I've heard on more than one occasion phrases like "let's hope we don't have those nursery school kids coming over here". There's certainly a xenophobia among some of the elite towards younger people joining TMU. This attitude sickens me - on both sites. It's always sickened me - and yesterday bothered me to the extent where I had to say something.

Undead---God:Jazzx, whether you're right or wrong (I'm not on TMU so I can't comment), do you mind me asking what that has to do with anything here? This isn't to say anything you've said is wrong, it's just hard to understand why you've brought this up here.
That's easy. This thread had deviated big time from its original purpose anyway. It was fair game - a "wasteground" thread. I feel a lot better and happier for posting - even if I suffer severe consequences. It really is like a heavy weight has been lifted off me. It's something I needed to say. Most of the secret thought police force from TMU (my ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) ness they're quick!) has come here to kick my ass in record time - because I took issue with the way one of their number treated a new member who was keen to participate in a competition. I thought the treatment of this individual was appalling and required someone to stand up and say so. I'm pleased I did.

Ya know, I was about to post a long reply, but I decided against it. I now consider us no longer friends. Keeping it simple. Gone are the days of you talking outta your ass, gone are the days of you preaching right from wrong, party is over Jazz, and you may think and feel what you want, but in the end, you just alienated, well almost everyone because your a self righteous tool. I long stood up for you, l always backed you up, always tried to see the ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) , and yet you show you are nothing more than a self righteous naysayer who will *** upon anyone and everyone when it suits you. I wont reply to you, or ever speak to you or interact with you again. ever. I'm sure you dont mind that anyways. I hope all that smugness and self diluting horseass you spew keeps you warm at night. jerk

jazzx:Most of the secret thought police force from TMU
And so, against my better judgement, I post here once again. Merely to ask if anyone, and I mean anyone, can take the insane, paranoid ramblings of this poster seriously anymore? I'm sorry, but "secret thought police force from TMU"? Am I the only one that thinks this is as dramatic as the nonsense TMOers post that Del gets tired of? Am I wrong? Is that not the ranting of a psychologically disturbed individual? I mean really? Jazzx: read what you wrote man... you actually said "secret thought police force". In any context that is worrying. You may need professional help, lithium, or whatever it takes to get over your paranoid fantasy that you live in. We have never been mates, nor shall we, but that post worries me: that was disturbing. Make of it what you will.

In fairness though jazz, this thread wasn't far from its original topic at all. It wasn't quite on topic, but it was still very close.
But anyway, that still doesn't explain the idea of posting that you don't like the way TMU moderators do their job on a the Lionhead forums. I don't mean to sound rude, but even if this thread was full of spam why these forums at all? What happens on a fansite's forum isn't really of any concern to the forumgoers here.
Which is really why, like Mort said, shouldn't we discuss this on TMU (by we, I mean everyone but me, since I have no account there ![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif) ). Standing up to people you believe to be bullies by running away from them and quietly posting where they probably won't find your post isn't really the best way of standing up to people anyway, and it won't make anything change.

This doesn't strike you as a tad paranoid? Secret thought police from TMU? It is the very definition of a socio-pathalogical disorder. And he typed it. Me going too far? Really?

I definitely don't want to understand you anymore. Jazzx, we didn't take issue with you thinking someone over at TMU was treated unfairly - we take issue with you posting it here, instead of discussing it with the person on TMU - where it belongs. I never thought I would say it, but for once in my life I agree 100% with Undead-God: Undead---God: Standing up to people you believe to be

Needless to say that your comment about the "secret thought police force from TMU" did it for me. This is so absurd, I have no words.

My question is when the TMO forums shut down, and believe me they will shut down eventually, where will you go Jazz after you have burned all your bridges man?

Of course it is Mefune. But I've never, ever claimed to be more than a ***. I never told people I was "right" or "honest". I just have opinions. So: you tell me who is worse? Me, or this "honest" reviewer? I, frankly, don't give a shite.

Why would the forums be shut down ? Old games still got their forum here and if people wants to talk about the movies they will just start talking about it in other forums like OT and Gaming industry forum so no point in closing them really.

Mortalitis_Infinitas:...While I don't expect members to be happy about TMO's end or to all agree as to why it ended there's no reason why we can't have a discussion about it in a mature manner....
Now, there is a measured response. I'll admit that sometimes I cross that line, but even then I try to remain away from psychological attacks. I do hope, however, that even the many people who disagree with me would admit that I am honest, straight, and forthright (all faults I know). So, can anyone explain to me why this vitriolic, personal, invective attack is, in any way, permissible in this thread, or on these forums? MefuneAkira:See, I think you are a self-loathing,

I'm not going to list the music I've done, the VOs, the proof reading and help to our European filmmakers (which pleases me most of all). I'm just going to ask others, given Mort's quote at the top, if anybody else thinks my second quote is acceptable.

Again, very cowardly of you to bypass the direct question of what your innuendos are implying. Nothing "straight or forthright" about your reply whatsoever. Put your money where you big mouth is and speak up Norrie and explain your accusations of "honesty" "reviews" "you try to fool all the people all the time" and "But your definition of honest seems to change depending on to whom you are speaking to." Have the balls to say it to my face or stfu coward.

Ah... I see now where your misunderstanding arose from. The "honest reviewer" I referred to in the post was JazzX. I have never seen you, or your studio, call yourselves such. I have, however, seen the Gent in question (this could have been a hint; all the posts were aimed at him) call himself the "only honest reviewer" I was asking who was worse, me or him. I would never ask who was worse, me or you! I know your answer. My apologies for not making things clear enough for you. I should have made it much clearer that my post wasn't about you. Next time I shall refer to you in the third party, just to clarify. I'm not sure if that satisfies your (Mefune's) criterion of having the balls to say it to your (his /their) face. One things for sure: I didn't stfu
