I need help, when I try to do the thing on fable2.com it simply says NAY! NAY! NAY! young squire! what do I do?

I too am having the DLC problems, nothing is fixing it (besides starting a new character) which isn't an option considering how much time I've put into this save file.

I am really getting tired with all these bugs this game has, On this save alone I have ran into over 15 bugs that either 1) Ruin the game for me, 2) Make it unplayable unless I reload a save.

Lionhead, this is the first and last game I will be buying from you. I know I'm just a sole person, but if others had the same experience with no action from you, I'm sure they would follow right in my footsteps. Purchased LE, had no card, waited 3 weeks for my code, I get and it doesn't work on anything but a new save file.

Signing to also share my displeasure with the inability to access the LCE content I paid $10 for and waited 2-3 weeks to receive.

Facts:
- I purchased the Limited Collectors Edition from GameStop
- I played the online web games
- I opened the chest to receive my online web game rewards the first day of launch
- I beat the game
- I waited 2-3 weeks to receive my code
- I installed NXE today
- I installed Fable 2 to my hard-drive
- I redeemed my code
- I did not follow the instructions in the e-mail (long story short, I didn't see them, grabbed the code off my cell phone) - based on what I'm reading in this thread and others, even if I did follow the directions, I'm SOL since I redeemed my web content anyway
- I cannot get the Halo items on my main character
- I will not even try to receive the content on another character, whether or not that works is useless to me, I want it on my one and only account
- I don't know where to turn for support...
- Lionhead needs to patch this, please!

I've been able to successfully get both the LCE content and the webgames rewards w/ two different Hero's, using a different GamerTag.

I've got a 2nd GamerTag, Silver, I created/used awhile back to troubleshoot a problem w/ Splinter Cell: Double Agent.  Using this GT, I was able to get everything w/o a problem.  i dont know that I did anything substantively different when using this GT vs. my "normal" GT, but on the off-chance that the specifics might be of interest/ use to someone, I'll provide them below.

This success may be something of a fluke; like several other reported issues, it may be that sometimes the content comes thru, somethimes it doesn't.  I'm considering clearing my cache and trying again w/ yet another Hero, using my normal GT, but I'm really getting tired of doing PC gaming troubleshooting on a console.  Just the way it is nowadays, I guess. (see Juiced2, MassEffect, GRID, TooHuman).

Anyway, the steps I took are below.

Using my "backup" GamerTag:

(Preface: I was connected to Live throughout this testing process.)

1) Start console/ sign-in to my "backup" GT/ launch game.  It didn't download the Co-Op update again, so I'm guessing that game updates are available to all GT on a console; I don't use this "backup" GT often enough to have much experience w/ more than one GT on a console.

2) Created New Game.  Played thru as if I were playing "for real" / not trying to skip over anything.  After reaching "Early Adulthood" and being told by Theresa to check the chest by my gypsy caravan for my equipment, I walked down to my caravan, stoppped in front of the chesst without entering the glowing yellow circle, then Saved & Exit to "Start" screen.  From there, exited to Dashboard via GuideButton.

3) Relaunched game, Continued my game.  After opening the caravan-chest (everything that should be there was), I continued playing "normally", finding a couple other chests & digspots throughout BowerLake and Hero's Tomb.  After standing in the light in the Chanber of Fate and spending XP on Lvl1 Shock, I ignored the flit-switch for the moment and opened "The Chest"- everything came thru fine; LCE content and webgames rewards.

4) Progressed thru game normally to the point where, in Bowerstone Market, Theresa tells you to find the Abbot in Oakfield.  Save & Exit to "Start" screen, exit to Dashboard via Guide Button.  Re-launch game, start New Game/ 2nd Hero on this GamerTag.

5) Progressed thru Childhood as if I were playing "normally"; made a couple different choices than I had w/ 1st Hero.  At start of Young Adulthood, just like the 1st time, Save & Exit in front of caravan chest without opening it or entering the glowing yellow circle around it.  From Start screen exit to dashboard, relaunch game, continue w/ the 2nd Hero.

6)  Continue to play "normally", reach Chamber of Fate: did everything from this point on Exactly as I had the 1st time- all the content is in the chest; LCE and webgames stuff.

Honestly, the only apparently substantive step I took while "testing" that differs from what I'd done w/ my normal GamerTag is the whole "Save&Exit at the caravan cehst, then exit to dashboard and relaunch game" song-n-dance.  It really doesn't seem to me like that would have an effect on the CoF chest, but what do I know.

 

 

Well, I've been able to get both the LCE & webgames content w/ a 2nd Hero on my regular GamerTag.

It may be a fluke; w/ the seeming randomness of what problems happen when / what solutions work when, its hard to say.  And its just as hard to say that the steps I took will work for anyone else; or even if they'll work for me again.  But on the off-chance the might be of use to someone else....

 

Basically, I did the exact same steps as I posted earlier (see above quote), "Using My BackUp GamerTag", w/ the exception of the following; I'll list each "step" in order.

-- Downloaded/ installed NXE update (of course)

-- Launched/ ran game from disc.  XBL prompts for a Game Update (guess it needed to re-do the 1st/only update from Launch Day).  Verified that I could access all my Heroes. (4 of 'em).  Successfully loaded Hero #3, Hero is just as it was prior to update.  Save & Quit.  Exit to Dashboard.

-- Installed game to HDD.  (6.8GB)  Launched game, checks disc/ runs off HDD as it should.  Save & Quit, exit to Dashboard.

-- Deleted my "Hero #4".  My first 3 have completed main story; only #2 had both the LCE & webgames come thru properly.

-- Launch game, created "New Game", then did just as I did in the above quoted "backup GT" steps EXCEPT:

---- After spending XP on Lvl1 Shock & Before "Will-ing" the flit switch, standing in front of the CoF chest but not close enough for it to highlight, I Saved & Quit.  Exited to Dashboard.  Shutdown console.  (note: I HAD tried "Save & Quit, quit to Dashboard, relaunch/ reload" previously w/ a deleted/ recreated 4th Hero, but it didn't work.  Tho I didn't do the other steps I Did do this time around)

---- Power on a few minutes later, launch game, Continue w/ new Hero#4; starts me right where I saved, in front of (but not too close to) CoF chest.

---- When I opened the chest, Everything came thru properly!  LCE AND webgames content.

 

Now, again, I don't see the steps I took as Any kind of definitive "solution/ workaround".  And because I did more than one thing different This time ( I Know, not smart) as compared to the last time I tried w/ this GT its hard to say what step(s) might have been the real "solution".  Whether it was getting all the content to come thru successfully a 2nd time on same HDD via a different GT, And/Or the NXE update, And/Or the "re-do" of the FableII update, And/Or deleting a GameSave and starting a new one (in my case, again, my 4th Hero), I can't speculate.  Might very well be some combination of these factors, may very well a matter of "luck".

 

Anyway, I'm pretty stoked to have a Hero/ GameSave I can use to "get & do Everything" with; and I Really empathize w/ players who are Still unable to get everything to come thru properly.  So, against my better judgement , I'm hopeful that others can get some kind of benefit from anything I've posted.

About that missing Bonus Content card, it was Microsoft's fault. You can't blame Lionhead for the missing card. You should know Microsoft, never tired of doing trial-and-error ideas, and put their customers as their victims.

To ChimaD and the others who have issue regarding the downloaded Bonus Content (not working/not appeared in-game),

It seems like there's something wrong with this Bonus Content you downloaded. It might be the code, the content itself, or both, but I can't confirm which one. From what I've seen so far, people with the Bonus Content card (have Fable II Limited Collector's Edition along with the Bonus Content card) always able to obtain the Bonus Content items in-game, even after deleted it and re-downloaded it. But people without the Bonus Content card (have Fable II Limited Collector's Edition without the Bonus Content card) who got the code from Microsoft via e-mail have problem getting their downloaded content working with the game (same issue: the downloaded content is not obtainable in the game). This happens too with my colleagues who bought the US Fable II Limited Collector's Edition which missing its Bonus Content card.

One thing keep clouding my mind: probably there are two different Bonus Content downloads. If we who are not missing the Bonus Content card can have the content working with the game, why can't those people who have the content codes sent to their e-mails have this content working with their game too?

I'm sorry, but this is beyond my knowledge, and the only ones who can answer this are Microsoft and Lionhead. I strongly suggest that you contact the latter, since the first "thing" I mentioned is... somewhat far from being dependable. Not that I hate Westerners, but I never trusted those Microsoft folks. If it weren't because of Tales of Vesperia and Fable II, I'll stick with my you-will-not-get-banned-for-playing-genuine-video-games PlayStation3...

Can you re-check and re-confirm that it is the update that helped you to obtain the contents? I haven't try it myself since I am so very busy here (you know Tokyo...) but I think it might be the update itself. Maybe there's another update beside the Day 0/Launch Day update?

That is rediculous. I have permission to play this game. Why should I have less than everyone simply because I am eleven and not nintey four or whatever!?

I have bought the LE and got the DLC code emailed to me. But, I used it on one of my hero and I got all the ies in the box. I tried on my second hero though and I was not able to get the DLC content on him. So, I decided to delete the 1st hero that has the spartan armour and hal's sword thinking that maybe only one character at a time can use the DLC content, but now I still can't get it with the new hero I created. So, I thought I could use it with all my heroes? I'm confused... I have it on my hard drive but I can't have them now on my heroes? How could this happen? Plus the new hero I just created can't even open the chest now. But I already did the Fable II game and downloaded the DLC. Can someone help??????

I just talked to microsoft and I found out that the people who got their DLC codes from Microsoft via email could only use their DLC content for one hero and not for all created heroes. It's kinda ridiculous because the lucky few who got theirs with the game can use it with all characters they created in fable 2. While the ones who was left out has limited use, They should give the ones they short-handed more since it's not the gamer's fault they (microsoft not lionhead, ok?) screwed up. So, if you have not redeemed your code... Just be careful which characters you use it on. In my case none...

Are you sure, because some people here on the forums got the code in the eMail and have multiple characters with the DLC content.

Was the Bonus Content even meant to be part of the CZ/SK/HU/PL Limited Edition?

If you can't figure out a 'workaround' for that age problem on the website you probably don't need to be playing the game.  Maybe go learn to tie your shoes or toilet train or something.

Having an issue with the web games themselves, after I complete it and choose a crown, it gives me an error with

   I'm trying to get the Completionist Achievement, so I need this for the feign attack. It's ridiculous that they would keep items like that out of the game...

Anyway, I am POSITIVE that I have never redeemed anything from there. Can anyone else confirm if this is an issue on my part or the server's?

So I was watching my girlfriend play last night and she got to the chest in the chamber of secrets and opened it.. Inside, she found Hal's Armor and Sword..

So it looks like she got the LE content on her profile with her Gamertag, meanwhile I still can't get it on my character and probably never will.. oh well..

So I read this entire post, and am still in the same boat with many people on here. No Feign Attack. I am very frustrated since (as I'm sure many of you have as well) I spent hours getting everything I need for the completionist achievement. Is Lionhead ever going to make a patch for this? Really I tried every suggestion on here. Which I appreciate everyone suggesting. But where is Lionhead? Why are they not addressing us? We are their customers, now to remember what we are always taught in customer service. The Customer is Always Right, and we are very unhappy. I read some where on here that there would be a patch in Mid-Dec? Is that true? Why not now? really.

I say we find someone that has a book, and either have them dupe it themself, or give it to someone else so they can dupe it. Then, give them out to everyone who needs one, because although it's an interesting idea to make you play the fable2.com games to get certain items, the fact that it's broken is stupid.

I hate double posting, but I just realized that my game has fallen under the horrible horrible Bowerstone Market glitch. None of the stores, save the Alchemist, restock. It can be fixed by lowering the economy below 5 stars (apparently that's what causes the glitch).

This might explain the expression book not appearing in the book store. I'm in the process of lowering the economy by raising all the rents/prices to +100%... wish me luck. I'll let you guys know if it works out.

Well it has been a little while since I have posted here but rest ashured I still have the same problem of not being able to access the Bonus content in the game. I have now sent the last 2 weeks on the phone with Microsoft at 1-800-4-my-xbox. What an absolute joy that has been. I have now received a second code fro the game, put it in and still get the same BS no content in the game. This has really soured my enjoyment of Fable2 since I am not spending any time playing the game and way too much time talking to the techs at M$.

Clearly the codes are faulty. I have put them in and tried every which way possible to try an obtain the content in the game but STILL haven't been able to access the ANY of the content with any of the characters I have. I have followed the instruction in the first e-mail to a T many time. Tried deleting the content from the memory and re-DL'ing the content both from DL history as well as re-entering the code. I have now created 6 new characters between both my main account and my back up account and nothing.

Finally last night after another 2.5 hour phone conversation with a supervisor of a superviser for teh M$ techs, I was told to try to play the games on Fable2.com. I played and won a bunch of stuff and lo and behold THAT content was immediately available in the game but still no LCE content.

What a frusterating time this stupid content is causing me. I'm about done here I think. I am now just going to try to get whatever compensation from M$ I can possibly get to make up for my time wasted and the extra $10 I spent soely for the bonus content and call it a day. Seriously. 3 years I've had a 360 and DL'd countless game content and redeemed many codes and NEVER have I experienced anything like this debacle they call the Limited Colectors Edition of Fable 2. They need to start handing out actual DLC to the people who bought the LCE that actually get them the content already.
