i had the black screen freeze also. i'm not 100% sure what i did to fix it. everytime i tried to get into Westcliff after i went to the spire and back it would black screen freeze weither i tried to warp or walk there. here's a couple of things i tried. like i said not sure which one fixed it. first i skipped any quest or job that had anything to do with Westcliff. i did that for about 5-10 hours of play time. also i joined a friend of mine and i was able to go to Westcliff when i was in his game but not my own. finally i tried to get into Westcliff from, i believe Wraithmarsh and i was finally able to get into Westcliff  i haven't had any problems since.       luck

Don't know if anyone else has said about this yet, but the Captain Dread quest in knackered for me, and not in the usual way!

 

First off, I need to run back to Bloodstone to get into the cave due to an impenetrable forcefield. Once I'm in, evrything is fine, as long as I don't stand still or pause the game, at which point it freezes and I have to restart my console. After I do the dive, the subtitles come up for some CD speech, but I don't hear anything. I go up the ramps and into a new room, where I'm attacked by a load of invisible assailants, and there are no textures and my magic meter has no images.

Not sure if this one has been reported or not....Very small spoiler coming up...

Playing through 2nd time and taking an track.  Signed up for the 1st contract assignment to kill Ted the Crate Carrier.  Took him out to Bower Lake and smoked his a$$.  Went back to his place that night and broke in to creep some of his things.  Who shows up to bust me?  That's right! Ted the Crate Carrier!

So far my only issue with the game has been the overscanned text at the top of the screen.  No crashes or other problems so far....  Still a pretty game IMHO.

The bloodstone glitch like i have, you can't interact with anyone except the bard or use weapons, so i can't complete the main story. A LOT of people have this one.

I just got he Westcliff BSOD

no matter how i try to enter the region of Westcliff, the game loads into a Black Screen and locks up athe game and the controller, and i have to hard shut down the 360 to get it to respond.

I even installed the game to my hard drive to see if it would help..

so now my game is unplayable..

I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!

The bugs are starting to ruin the experience for me so I wanted to post them, so hopefully they will be patch so people in the future playing the game will not have the same bad experiences.

Bug #1
Description: when wearing this clothing, the dye does not show up in game, only in the menu.
jacket: cuffed overcoar
lower body: bandit trousers
dye: impermissable carmine dye

Bug #2
Description: with this haircut, the dye does not show up in game, only in the menu.
hair: center cut long hair
mustach: handle bar
goatee: not sure but it's a chin braid.
dye: kilo white dye

Bug #3
Description: when lady grey awakes and falls in love with you, when the time is up and the gravekeeper vanishes, lady grey walks out of the building and will not acknoledge your existence. She walls out of the cementary and is never seen again. Even when you try to emote her she doesn't not respond or reconize any.

Bug #4
Description: While swimming in water, there are a lot of places your get stuck, and you have to tap "a" repeated to get out. These are not places along walls but in the center of bodys of water.

Bug #5
The hold a button for an confirm doesn't work well. Examples: While going through a portal, like a demon door, sometimes when you hold 'a' while the 'hold a' symbol is displayed, nothing happens. This also happens when talking to people or trying to click on a deed for a house.

There are many more but these are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Well, it seems that installing to the hard drive has fixed my problems.

Yes the Hard Drive fix seems to be working for most as I have tried this as well and I have wrote a guide for all Fable 2 fixes made available.

my character will not move, attack, draw a weapon, target. i beat the game and was traveling, i can fast travel and access the menu, to visit my wife that was excited to see me. that is when it happened. ('');

I was walking in the chamber of fate right before you reach the three skeletons w/ notes and I saved my game. When I loaded the save, my dog descended into the ground slowly then ascended further down the tunnel(it was like those tubes in Mario on the old NES!) and when I tried to move forward, I could not. I could go backward as far as I wanted, but it was like there was an invisable wall there!! I tried restarting, clearing my cache everything. Finally had to delete save and restart. Anyone else had anything like this happen?

Minor adjustment needed here:

Location: Bowerstone Old Town - The House of will

Problem: Opening upstairs door can cause you to get stuck between it and the bed and nightstand.

I got out with a Time Control dash.  Minor adjustment to either how far the door opens or position of the bed and nightstand is needed to fix.

(Wouldn't be a problem if we could shut the doors  )

One potion makes you larger and one potion makes you small and the one Lionhead didn't give you doesn't do anything at all...

A new one for me. On completing the game (chose the "sacrifice" option if that makes a difference) my economy goes haywire.

 

My 5 star Bowerstone Market economy suddenly drops to 2, and Fairfax Gardens which has always been a 5 drops to 1.

I don't know if things are related, but since i read that other people encounter simular problems, i would like to post it here:

The problem is that my savegame is corrupted and the game keeps freezing in the loading screen (with the text that if you need help, you can look in the manual.. how irronic :-)) I saved in the bowerstone market Area.

I had some minor freezing problems in the bowerstone market area, when i wanted to buy things in the shop and in the westclif area. But these just froze my game, and didn't corrupt my save.

I installed the NXE update yesterday and after that i won the highroller coat in the pubgames arcade game (i have won items before with my character without problems). After that i started my game, but i won't start anymore.

I read that people had the same problem when winning the coat. And had the problem when installing the NXE. I guess that doing both wasn't the best idea....

I tried cleaning the cache from the xbox menu and loading the game without connection to live (so without the first patch). But still the same problem.

I can join a co-op game with my savegame, i can see my gold and stuff, but still it won't load in my own game.

I tried joining more pub characters with my savegame, so the save is written a new time, but this also doens't help....

So now it is waiting on the patch and a reaction from LH with a recomandation of what to do. I don't feel much for starting over just yet, because i'm afraid that i will be dissapointed again (i've just reached bloodstone and had enough renown to begin the next quest in the storyline...). 

other people have had this bug, or through I donno if other people have posted it before here, but my wife just suddenly divorces my Hero for no reason even what so ever in her stats it shows her as being happy, fine, very happy with no wants etc (no I havn't cheated etc on her, they live in Oakfield once I walked just up to the Temple of Light walked back down to her and got "I shouldn't be treated this way" blah blah blah- divorced) and afterwards in my Logbook stats it shows me not just as DIVORCED 1 but also WIDOWED 1 as well...and 100 points...

My child(ingame) was home ,serenety farm, and i desided to go a trip with him and made him follow me, i fast travelet to bright wood and he wasn't behind me so i whent back to serenety farm and yes there he was, but not responding to anything no gift/fun/skary/rude affekt him he dosent even get those smiley's above his head when i do ekspresion, ho just stands there not talking or anythin?!?!?!

What to do can he ever be normal again

A bug I figured out was on the "Till Dead Will Do Us Part" quest. I decided to marry Alex and destroy the rejection note. After I married her she started to annoy me. I played and on one day she just suddenly started to freak out being totally afraid of me. So I decided to get rid of her, so I killed her. But I didn't finish the quest yet.  But now I can't. When I went to the ghost in Rookridge nothing happens. There is no way on finishing or canceling this quest. He just stays there frozen like... forever?

A few weeks ago, after A LOT of hours play, Id finished the game and was carrying on when mine started freezing.. not the black screen that a lot of people seem to be getting but Id have vertical lines all down the screen. So I left it and my brother was playing on his character and the same thing happened to his. The next day when we turned on the xbox is had the RRoD
Sent it off to be fixed, took Fable 2 back to the shop and swapped it for a new copy. Just got the xbox back, deleted all the Fable 2 saves on it and put in the brand new disk.. Just after the bird pooh lands on her head right at the beginning, it freezes.. turned it off, left it for a few hours, put it back in, started a new game and then it froze again while we were watching the street merchant talking about the magic box..
WTH!!

Has Lionhead made any statements yet?? Ive left it for a couple weeks so I havn't kept up to date with whats happening..

   I hope someone can help me here. My game is getting stuck at the loading screen between the Wraithmarsh and Bloodstone. I have seen two other posts of problems similar to this, but noone has addressed this problem yet. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get around this glitch? Will loading the game to the hard drive help? If I restart the game am I going to have the same problem at the same place?

   This wasn't fixed in the patch. Does anyone know when the next patch will be released? And if it is, will I have to begin a new character to avoid the problem that I am already experiencing?

   I have a few simple questions that I am hoping either Lionhead or someone who has experienced the same problem can answer:

1) Is there anything that I can do to save the character that I have built?

2) If there is nothing that I can do, will I experience the same problem with a new character?

3) If Lionhead fixes this problem, will it fix my current character (or any new characters that I create while i'm waiting for a patch) or will I have to start a new game AFTER the patch is released?

I've encountered quite a few glitches:

1) Love Hurts quest is stuck in in infinite loop. I have the head, and the quest restarts itself every time I come back.
2) I've had four random divorces. The husband will be happy then all of a sudden, "I'm leaving you".
3) My in game clock is FROZEN. In order to advance time, I either have to sleep or go to another area. This is so annoying.
4) The top of my screen is stuck saying "Raise Dead" as if I have the spell on. I don't.

These are SO ANNOYING. Seriously.

My D-pad menu has disappeared.  I made the mistake of saving my game and now it seems all my progress is ruined, because reloading, quitting and reloading didn't bring it back.

same here i lost it and it wont come back and it kinda makes me made that i have to go in the menu to dig anytime my dog finds something

The glitches were just too much. I love this game too but my disc was too horrible to endure. I went into the store I bought it at and the girl at the customer service counter told me to bring it back and exchange it for another game or try a replacement of another Fable 2. They were embarassed. Imagine that.

Because I had noticed that some people have a nightmare called Fable 2 and others seem to have lucked out with okay game discs I was a bit jealous of the lucky ones. Since I have dial up and a patch will be useless to me....

I took the game back.

I must admit I was soooooo tempted to exchange it for another game (and a more trustworthy developer likely) but....with Christmas looming I opted to give Fable 2 another go and merely exchanged it for another copy and hope Santa is nice to me and delivers other games like the new Prince of Persia and GoW2 and.....well, you know. Because...I really liked this game just hated the grief of the glitches and the fear it would crash my box.

Lionhead should send me a thank you card for even offering them a second chance though.

If this one is glitchy...I am done. My faith will be utterly destroyed and I will never touch another Lionhead product and will hope and pray that beautiful RPGs like The Witcher get sequels and come to X-box or just play them on my PC.

Considering we are standing on the threshold of next gen gaming...I know there are other RPGs in my future ready to rock my world and if Lionhead wants to reward my serious gaming dollars with half-done ***...I am over with them. I am sorry to the teams and crews at Lionhead for saying that but something went wrong somewhere. But so much of it was beautiful and \I hope this new disc is clean and lets me enjoy their work as it should have been.

I have a problem.  When I choose to give a gift, the menu pops up but then it goes to controller 2 and I can move up and down on the menu but A and B and start buttons are useless and I can't get back to the gameplay. 

I've tried resetting both controllers and I have also installed the game to the hard drive but I'm still having this problem...  I have to quit the game and start at my last save.

It doesn't happen all the time but enough that I just get mad and put the game down so iIcan get back to real life.  THIS SUCKS!

I really LOVED Fable, but Fable 2 is one of the most glitchy games i've ever played and its ruining my experience.

Glitch#1
- can't have sex with  my wives, they proposition me, but the  thumbs up expession  doesn't work when i  select  it from the expression wheel  and it doesn't shows up where context sensitive expressions show up on the directional pad

Glitch #2
- i can only collect rent from one residence at a time...i have 3 houses i'm renting out yet money only shows up from one of them

- Whenever a wive divorces me she automatically dies

Glitch #4
- If i buy a new house in front of a wife i already have(who is following me), i will get married to the same woman again, creating a duplicate family in the menu screen (although not a physical duplicate in the game), which causes our previous residence to be stuck in a state as if my family is living there which means i can't sell it or rent it out

Glitch #5
-i also often get stuck while swimming as if i'm in a tar pit

Glitch #6
-the word Shock stays on the HUD after i use the spell selector

Glitch #7
-The spells ive selected to go in each spot will often change by themselves for no reason

There are parts of this game i really enjoy, but some parts seem really broken which makes the experience very frustrating     

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but is kind of spoilerish at the same time, so here it goes.

Rookridge Road Demon Door
If you have a Phantom Dog there to help you complete the Challenge, if there is still a dig spot in the area, you cannot complete this challenge because...
A ) You cannot teach your dog any other tricks
B ) The dog gets distracted when he gets close to you, sending him off to find a dig spot
C ) You cannot dig this spot up as your dog always runs back to the Demon Door when you follow him

This could probably be fixed easily if I could somehow get another dog from somewhere else in the game.

Ive got a bug that is really annoying. After playing the game for a little while, it freezes for no reason. I can't figure it out, the disc is not damaged at all. I think its that new dashboard setup, the one with the avatar thingies, because everything was going until i got that.

if anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.
