Re: Ideas for black and white 3
Personally, I loved the first Black and White much more than the Second. What I would love to see in 3 is definitely online play; I am a huge fan of competitive games. Also adding more verity to the game as in more buildings and choices in creatures, just something to make a game more your own. I was not down with armies.. Its alright idea, but we aren’t playing starcraft. If they could make the military side have more diversity and tactic it'd be fine, armies and war seemed like the easy way out. I AWAY loved impressing a town till you had them you know with miracles, or throwing things or your creature. I don't know about you guys but having a temple was interesting.. And if they go anymore modern.. I might loose interest. I agree with someone’s opinion were they said have more regions, that would be amazing. While you are playing you could educate yourself a bit on other people, as much as I LOVE the Greek culture I want to see others too. I don’t think that we should be making the creature more intricate either it gets to be a little much. The whole "wonder" thing was really cool I have always wanted to have more power as a god when I played the first one. Something they should use from the first one is influence, almost like your territory and it would get bigger as you have more people and villages. One last thing, but having MORE story line would be nice, the first on was amazing with getting to know kazar and the characters and know why you where doing WHAT you were doing.
That’s my 2 cents. And just curious, but if someone who played as a war god in the game could explain some points in why we should keep armies that would be awesome.

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
Ok here some ideas.
A multiplayer mode and a skirmish mode.
Larger maps existing out of different islands and you can build
docs/ships so you can fish, seatrade and expand your empire across the
water (using ships to build a starting doc on a new island).
More types of army units like horseman enz.
your creature should play a smaller role in the game. maby turn the
animals into spells that you can keep working as long as you still have
mana, so you can summon the tiger for offensive battle the turtle for a
strong defence the cow for watering your crops and trees enz enz.
Do more with the cattle. the wild animals in the B&W series didn't
do much. maby build a nice field then grab wild horses, sheep and cows
and then you can let them breed on it and milk them or use them for
meat.
at the start of the game you should be able to pick your starting
civilization and instead of greek, egypt enz you should have the choise
of normal humans, half animal/half human creatures, elemental magic
users (pyroblast FTW) enz.
Put a fog of war in the game so you don't c your enemys coming from
miles away (come one how lame is that). When you start the map should
be all black untill you discover it using your followers. then when you
leave an area it should turn into fog so you c the terrain but not what
is walking there. if you want to c what is in the area constantly you
should be able to build watchtowers witch you should be able to put
archers or other ranged attackers in.
Much more building cause now you had like a hige city with mostly just villa's.
Make a campaign with a friendy god by your side wich can be replaced by a player so you con coop the campaign!
make it easyer to feed a large population so you can have a large city
with a large army aswell without food shortage. possibly with many more
different ways of gathering food like farms/rice farms, fruit trees,
grape plantations (perhaps a wine makery?), hunters, fishing boats.
nice rivers on the island maby? with buildable bridges over it?
and maby when you start you should have like simple low tech civ and
while you advance trough the game you can buy better techs for easyer
food gathering, better entertainment for your followers or better
weapons maby even early firearms like in the medieval series.
well these are just some of the ideas i had. hope they ever c the light of day.

armys so the enemy god can attac us. and maby you can combine them with the city play. like you have to breed the horses for your cavalry or mine iron for making cannons you name it

Fog of war blows, this aint as much an rts as a god simulator, as a god you would most definitely see enemies coming from at least a hundred or so miles away which means no matter what you would see them. I love seeing them coming and pelting them with giant boulders or intercepting them with my own army. The fact that you can always see the enemy is why your civilization is BETTER than you enemies, they dont have a god and dont see you coming. FOW would only be apropriate for a civilization without a god and even then it should be more of a field of view system defined by terrain and where the people are, if a person is looking through a mountain pass like the ones in the viking mission then they should see anything coming up not blocked by part of the mountain or hills, get what I'm saying.

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
well as a god the only strength you have comes from the villagers who believe in you so if the enemy doesnt believe in you why should you be able to c them? but i do agree that a field of view would make more sence

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
I have to disagree with the fog of war, but that's my opinion. As a god, you should be able to see everything, though may not be able to influence it. I hear everyone screaming for multiplayer. Again, I have to be a naysayer to this. I like to play alone. So long as there is an option, then I am fine. By the way, I do like some mmo's but they take forever and I am impatient. ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif) Ability to customize your pet would be awesome. Better tattoos, armor would be neat whether it did anything or not, who knows what else. This is where being creative comes in. I don't think I would want a creature creator, spore was boring, the idea was awesome at first, but they killed it by not making the game difficult at all. Just time consuming. The armies are okay, but they need different units. Maybe even a few supernatural ones. (If you are ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) , healing angels/ If you are bad, destructive demons) What happened to that old god feeling? A way to control weather would be pretty neat too. But about the only thing that made you feel like a god in B&W2 was the ability to control what time of day it was and that was pretty stinkin awesome! I don't want to feel like a mayor or general in a god simulator. It's a lot of hard work in the first game to get your creature the way you like it, and at first, I liked the second games way of training the creature better. But the more I think about it, I think that I liked the first one. It's more rewarding and your creature becomes very unique. God building was very useful, but not very god-like. But I'm not crazy with the scaffolding option either. Maybe just a halo image of what you want to build where you want it, and the people decide to do your will and build what you want there. Brick or paved roads would be neat, and more buildings to choose from! I would like to see a nice blend of impressiveness and belief. In the second game, the only way to expand and get a second village (which I really like to do) is to be ![E v i l [Evil]](/emoticons/e_v_i_l.gif) and take it over. (I have the demo, and that's the only option that I have noticed, I could be wrong.) I would like to bring back the wood, stone, and food miracles, but I don't want the people to become fully reliant on me to cast them 24/7. The forest miracle would have been ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) in the first one if I didn't need worshipers to constantly maintain it. But I guess that added a challenge to the game though one that did not make sense to me. Once the forest is grown, why does it not just go on it's own? If the game is set any further into the future, then I would get bored with it. Though, I do think that boats and riding horses would be a nice addition. More creatures and have multiple creatures all at one time! I'm playing as a god dangit and I deserve more creatures to do my bidding! I think this would make the game more challenging at first, but as time goes on, you would have multiple hands to help you. So, if you are looking for a way to make the game easier, then have your creatures train up new creatures to help like in Creature Isle. And get rid of tribute and god-building. Someone mentioned making your own "Bible". I'd prefer it to be your own holy book. ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif) (I love that this game is about being a god, but it does not step on the toes of Christians, Muslims, Jews, or ANY other religion that I can think of! I'm a Christian and I think the game is humbling to play and I do not get offended at all by it and I appreciate that! And if Christians do get offended by it, then they are looking for something to be offended by.) But the holy book thing sounds neat. It could be a way to train your people. Thou shalt only eat grain. You must rest every 7th day, to give your people a break and stuff like that. Of course, you would have to pick from predetermined rules that the programmers set out, but it would still be neat! About the tribute. I think that it is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure that it was implemented as it should have been. It made the game waay to easy the further you went along. I think the tribute should go towards upgrading your temple. That is what tithes are for in the Bible. So that God's house may be full! This idea makes sense to me. Ideas for upgrades to the temple, add a creature cave. I would still like to keep the creature pen though. Add a library. Just a thought, hire priests to tend to and heal your people. Add an outer court or other custimizable things to make the temple your own! But using tribute to get more miracles makes it too easy. I would rather do quests and challenges that somehow make me more powerful and able to do more powerful or just new miracles. Ways to get new buildings. I think that new buildings with new purposes should be added to the game. The tavern was a ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) add, I miss the soccer field (football). Graneries were ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) too. But maybe we can come up with even more, and the workshop can be brought back, but as a place to come up with new blue prints. I can kinda understand the tribute going towards that. But just buying the blueprints out of nowhere in a menu was kinda ... weird. It made no sense. This gives you a place to actually buy the blueprints. Oh yeah! The menu! I know, the cool thing about the first game was that it had no menues. But I actually don't mind one. It was small and out of the way until you clicked on it. Then it got all in your way. But, maybe the option between gestures and shortcut keys, and menues. That may be all for now. Sorry if it is too long.

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
here are some more creature ideas. First off i think the animals should be less cute and hunamoid and more animallike (they should still walk on 2 legs though) the creatures are all powerfull spells. some are for evel others for ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) . For the ![E v i l [Evil]](/emoticons/e_v_i_l.gif) ones you cast the spell on a spot on the ground and the creature breaks open the ground and climbs out with force making soldiers in the area fly around and running and screaming. When casting the spell for a ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) creature a cloud (like a soft tornado) of feathers would come from the sky and brings down the summoned creature. impressing all the villagers in the area creating alot of belief (if belief would be in the game) Some ideas for creatures! // ![E v i l [Evil]](/emoticons/e_v_i_l.gif) A tiger with swords on its arms, he would be perfect for taking down an enemy creature down fast with nice combo's. A big ![E v i l [Evil]](/emoticons/e_v_i_l.gif) Turtle with a cannon on its shield witch it can use to quickly blow up buildings or take down walls. A lion that uses a spell to make all friendly army units alot stronger, boosts the stamina of all nearby friendly army units and attacks the enemy. he should act like a leader and wear armor and like a big flag with your empire's symbol on it. A Great dragon that can shoot fireballs and cast a vulcano mirracle // ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) A cow that casts water spell to grow crops and tress A Ape that can magicly build buildings without any material costs A bear that heals all nearby friendly units/villagers/creatures A horse that can quickly grow forests (that dont disappear again) Now this way you can both help your followers and still create a huge fight. and because you can cast them like spells you can summon several of them at once. they will help you with whatever you want them to do untill you dismiss them or untill you run out of mana. All of this action with armys/building/spells enz is ofc difficult to control with just your hand so i thought of this. for all your spells/pickup action/building enz you use god mode what is your standard god hand. for your battle actions, creature movements, training of soldiers enz you should use the action mode witch would be like a normal strategie game. You should be able to easely switch between these 2 like using F1 for god mode and F2 for action mode. now when you would enter a battle you go F2 and send in your armys then switch to F1 and cast a creature mirracle to support your troops. its easy and fast ![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif) alot better than picking up army flags!

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
Considering what I have just read. I think that Lionhead Studios and Sid Meier's should team up to make a God / Civilization game. The original BnW + Civ IV would be awesome. although the gameplay may be a tad to complex, however, if we overcome that and the game developers and designers manage to extend their time on this I would think that it would a number one bestseller.

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
A more sane post!
I think a first person view could achieve alot. Maybe introduce a Jesus type character or play as your creature during times of war. Also, advance on the war techniques. more units maybe... Stealth archers, assasins, tribal warriors... I don't know, anything really.

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
Here a couple of ideas i liked and some suggestions of my own - More Creatures/ Creature creator
- Game Physics:
More realistic miracles. eg. Lava hardens when it hits water, Meteors leave permanent craters etc Your god hand can physically manipulate the landscape (ie malleable landscape) eg click and pull up creating mountains, Click down and leave an imprint of your hand of the lanscape. Perhaps you could toggle between a physical and spiritual hand - A
, offical modders tool. That way people can create and share things that they feel are missing from the game - Bring back some features of B&W 1
- Online and Lan skirmish mode

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
i dont think you should make the civilizations too modern cause then your power becomes like nothing. you can summon a creature? we just send our tanks! what fireballs? we just use our nukes!
what i would love is the portal from B&W1. it suckid in everything you threw in so you could take it to the next world.

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
I've heard multiple people ask for a multiplayer game. How exactly will it work? It isn't that hard to fend off hoards of enemies with couple fire/lightning miracles. Rubbing them is fairly easy too. Personally, I think one multiplayer game will take too long. It might work out with more limited god powers at a faster game speed.

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
There are definitely a lot of opinions, a couple pretty ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) , while others are just stammering in their fantasy world. People will have to think about lag issues and how multiplayer will work out with all that extra add-on. There also seems to be a lot of hype about bringing B&W 1 back, but no real specification for change. If lionhead just combined B&W 1 + 2, people will complain about lack of originality; without adding past game genre's, people will complain that the game needs to revert back to their originals. Also the idea of bringing in Mythology is a fun thought, the game was never specified around Greek Mythology where we were Zeus and summoned minotaurs running around in a labyrinth. If Lionhead were to add this much customization, we will have to wait until a computer from the future can run it and wait even longer to work out all the balancing, then wait even longer if they want to balance it for multiplayer. Knowing Lionhead likes to speed up production and kicked their games out the door before they put on their make-up, it won't go so well. Now for my opinion. More modern time period will just turn this game into the "Total War" series and this game is starting to look more like "Ceaser" series as it is. The creature training in B&W 1 was very complex and worked out pretty well because the game was mostly focused around the creature. When you add city building and military tactics, spending that much time on your creature just becomes a nuisance. As for the vortex, in the first one, it was pretty nice to throw existing stuff into the next land, but that made the game far too easy. I remember throwing dozens of scaffolds and wood/food miracles to have a jumpstart on the next land to beat it quickly as possible. Which brings me to my next point, B&W 1 and 2 was far too easy and adding in the food/wood miracles will just make the game easier. The amount of wood in B&W 2 made the game not need wood miracles and it was great. I always hated those needy people in B&W 1 constantly needing wood and deforesting every inch of the island to where I 'have' to put down forest/wood miracles. For multiplayer, I don't see how any ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) god can win when there is a military. Each game will turn into a regular rts "Starcraft" or "Warcraft" game or if winning by civilization is easier, each game will turn into a competition of who can build the fastest. The god hand can easily take out military units by throwing a couple fireballs or just by throwing a rock and the conquering takes so long that you can pick them all off one by one. If multiplayer is to be added, Lionhead needs to add an "attack walk" command, where the military will attack the closest buildings like any other rts game while you build up your cities to make the villagers convert to your side. Personally I would be satisfied with just a harder game, but no matter how many ideas are floating around, this game will either never come out or take another decade of programming to fill the needs of fans.

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
I might take a bashing for saying this, but what BW3 needs is to become a true God game. Which means, remove the childish creatures. Armies in BW2 was not a ![G o o d [Good]](/emoticons/g_o_o_d.gif) addition. It made the game a little more fun, but it had no true merit and wasn't really something enjoyable to use. Also, if multiplayer was to be added, it would be impossible to use armies, as the opponent would be able to wipe out all of it with a few fireballs or meteors. The second game did great in not using food and wood miracles. It made you rely more on your fields and forests and it really was fun to get a dynamic environment like that. Now, one of the things I really did not enjoy about BW2 is how the first 6 levels were basically tutorials on how to play the game, and then you only had 2 levels left to actually punch out some divinity. Add to that, that the first couple of levels were extremely small. On top of that, every tutorial in every modern game should be skipable without penalisation. So PLEASE, when I install a new game, let me skip your tutorials and let me dive right in to the game. It should not be a penalty point wise to skip something you knew perfectly well how to do from the first game. BW2 would've been a 9.5 game for me instead of a 8.0 game, if only they had done twice as many levels, added a skip option to every teaching in the game and added a few more miracles and structures - possibly a few more ressources to gather as well. So what I'd boil my suggestions for BW3 down to is the following: - No creatures - More miracles - A LOT more levels - Skipable tutorials - No point based upgrade system - Possibly a few more ressources to gather

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
NOOOO!!!! maybe you should shut up and they can keep the creature, then you can make them armour, using wood or ore as the armour resources, and maybe the creatures could FEED THEM SELVES!! also more troops like spearmen would be pretty cool, but no creature weapon unless he can imbue it with miracles

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
Just had an idea, what about a resource spawning spell set. A design appears on the ground where you cast it and a villager must activate it. Think Fullmetal Alchemist for the design and effects, just no equivalent exchange because you are a god.
New job: Alchemist or Alter. These people are gifted with a small bit of the power of god (you). Villagers must be trained in a special temple. Once trained these villagers can do most of the jobs without being retitled and preform them faster. Would take resources to train. These villagers triple building speed and use the transmutation circle as their building tool. When a structure is set to be built by an alchemist all the resources must merely be piled in the circle, once all needed is there they preform the transmutation rapidly building the structure. When used in combat they randomly choose an attack out of a few transmutations: Stone spikes, spikes shoot out of the ground harming enemy troops. Wind, air bursts throw individual enemies for high damage. Pit, a large hole opens taking 2-3 enemies each use. Ice, freezes individual enemies. These attacks would be much weaker forms of a few of your castable miracles.
Massive worlds, huge lands around the size of islands like Kauai http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kauai and Niihau http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niihau for huge coquest games and skirmish games.
OPTIONAL fog of war, some people like it, others like to see all as a god would.
TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH! If you have ever played star wars galactic battlegrounds then you know what I'm talking about. Upgrading structures to be stronger and better, same with troops and villagers.

Re: Ideas for black and white 3
Think about B&W 3 with natal and for anyone who hasnt seen anything about natal check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2r9cKjNQe4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2qlHoxPioM&feature=related natal has voice recognition and full body motion capture With natal you would actually move your hand to pick up rocks imagine instead of shaking your mouse back and forth, yelling NO at the natal sensor and your creature reacting as if you actually were there yelling at him picking up people by pretending to grab them and commanding your soldiers by voice or gesture instead of click on an area to go the possibilities of B&W 3 on 360 with natal would be endless
As I approached the intersection, a stop sign suddenly appeared in a place where no stop sign had ever appeared before. I was unable to stop in time to avoid the pedestrian that had appeared with the stop sign
