ok cool. Kinda jumping the gun abit with the whole bnw3 thing then... tho im sure it will be good! tbh, i would be fine for a while if they just made a online mod for bnw2 Silly [:p]. nah, im sure whenever bnw3 comes out they will have noticed that the online section of the game was a big importance too the sucess of bnw1. There is a big market in online gameing, tho im not fan of paying for it.. lol, but to even add that option 2 a game makes it more interesting for me. that being said > Online option for bnw3 is a big MUST! Creatures in bnw2 where quality, so when ever they do start bnw3 im sure the technology they used 2 create the creatures will be much better. as well as the grapthics and all that stuff! Cool add ons for creatures would be noice, like changeing hair styles and giveing them cool tattoos... I heard that was gonna be upgraded from bnw1 to bnw2. But it wasent, so that would be a noice little touch!

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.

Meh. As time went by, I figured out I could do everything and more in BW universe in real life. I am God. But seriousness aside. They mentioned they'd be distancing the creature abit as the games grew on, which in my opinion is a big no, and should rather take the creature from BW1 and improve that and scrap the entire idea of selecting an action you want to punish/praise him/her/it for. I want a pet that is actually a pet, and if I don't punish it there at the time of action, it should rather get confused and kind of distant, begin to dislike you more and more if you punish it for things it really can't remember doing. God aspect of the game. This time, stick with the plan. Don't tell us we can use the water when you really mean "you can use it by looking at it, it'll then become gorgeous *drool*". Give us our real godlike powers. If I want to dig a grave, trap or whatever then do allow me. If I want to eradicate one entire army by the snap of my fingers, then do let me but let the other god be able to counter it! Ideas, ideas. Flowing in my mind!

Yeah definately! Digging would be awesome! A 100% deformable landscape would be brilliant - so when you cast a meteor miracle it makes a creater and doesn't just dissappear into the ground - I feel some Worms Armageddon scale landscape destruction coming on (perhaps we could have a Banana Bomb?)! You could even dig a moat!

Fusing miracles would be a great idea too. Like, if you'd combine water and fire for a more non-lethal choice, you'd get boiling water when you throw it, and it'd burn the enemy army/villagers. You could also use this tactic while they batter down your gates, and have your villagers pour boiling water/oil on the enemy like the used to do. Creature should also be allowed to fuse miracles, dig etc etc.

i just really liked how in black and white 1 the gods would introduce themselves, like when lethys said somthing along the lines of "Hello, i am Lethys *just the right length rant* " it was brilliant how the gods each had their own identity and wondor and stuff.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.

I really like the whole idea of seeing your creatures thoughts, because in BW1 my monkey would always eat a person and when i went to punish him/her, it would change and say "Your creature is feeling curious" or something like that and i get annoyed with it I also like the toolbar where you can choose to punish him/her for something previously done.

Make the people learn and adapt to your behavior as a god just like your pet does, for example when you make regular sacrifices of your followers to gain power your followers learn that this is something you promote and so to please you will make sacrifices of their own accord.

This is a really cool idea, there was a similar one that was originally slated to be in the game whereby your people over several generations would become better at whatever you consistantly made them do. [post=2803048]This post[/post] may interest you a bit Happy [:)] I like the idea that your people could learn and adapt in a similar way to the Creature - especially if, like Molyneux described for the B&W series as a whole the Creature will be less and less important as the series progresses

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.

Sorry for double post, but after that last one I decided to go back and have a go at summarising some of the main ideas from this thread, and appologies if I missed any off! The return of a Citadel has come up time and again, as has multiplayer, more lands, random map generator and more extensive story line plus the ability to return to previous lands, and also many more intricate quests of direct relevence to the game(the latter six are likely not present in B&W2 because of it's early release). Many people want more God opponants, along with more Tribe types, each with their own unique attributes, and a much better villager AI including crime, and fishing. A return of the player symbol has been suggested. With regards to miracles - mixing, reflection of the players alignment in appearance and effect of the miracles, and more wonders have all been suggested, and the possibilty of having ritual gestures, the power of which is affected by the quality of the players skill in applying them has also been disscussed. Some have also talked about controlling the weather. Someone also suggested the ability to curse/bless individual villagers. Also there is talk about having the number of followers a player has being reflected in their power. Many have expressed that it would be nice to have prophets/heroes/mages/priests or messiahs in the game, and perhaps even an Avatar mode. moving on to armies, some want them abolished entirely. Others have suggested a more in-depth RTS element with better AI. Creatures have also been talked about extensively - more creatures, more unique elements to each one and a greater power. The ability to see the creatures thoughts has been praised. Also deformable landscapes have been mentioned along with a better physics engine. With regards to all suggestions, it is important to bear in mind that slated for Black and White is that as the series progresses, the people become harder to impress, ie "why should I be impressed by a god that can make a fire when we can make our own bombs" is what Peter Molyneux said (or at least words to that effect). A discussion on one possible way the game may be played like this began in [post=2724038]this post[/post] and followed from there. Also I think I read somewhere that the creature will gradually play a smaller and smaller role. All of this of course depends upon whether Lionhead choose to develop more in the B&W series in the first place - I hope so! Happy [:)]

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.

i would like the temple to become the very main godly building of mine again, its nice to have a HQ. i just want it to be a god game again, peter molyneux said in his letter that you get with the black and white 2 game that he wants to start the game by "radically changing what i think of as a god game," now when that sounds like a good idea all it means is that he has made a game that has some aspects of a god game and told us its a god game even though it doesn't really feel like one , like making an RTS and telling everyone its a first person shooter, just because you say it is, it doesn't mean it actually is. Make it a real god game again, not a RTS/city building game with miracles in. and i really really do think its best to get rid of Armies, you could use the excuse that all the massive wars have made the people pacifists again/technologically regress. i really really like the idea that the people were total pacifists and unable to fight in anyway but the gods they served were the fighters, kind of with the people stuck in the middle of all the divine conflicts. it would be complete Suicide to make the people in black and white become any more advanced than they currently are, if they even consider putting in bombs made by the people or guns or anything then i and a large number of other fans will be completely discouraged from buying any more BnW stuff.

I have a couple of sugestion's at the moment and that is if your a god ,you should be able to create land or destroy it ,level a cliff or raise an esccarpment ,drown the low lying inland area's with swells from the ocean, be able to create fertile farmland on baren land orthe other way round, have all the original creatures as well as a couple of new ones a few examples are insect , demon, angel or an ent (tree man/woman)

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.

Indeed I like the idea of having different representatives of your will in the land, oversized animals have been done, I really like the idea of prophets or "blessed" individuals within your society, and having alternate versions of your creature that are not just animals (earth elementals like giant humanoids made of stone, mythical creatures such as the Hydra.) But the most promising possibility in this field is ease of modification, if players are more easily able to make a fully functional creature of their own design then I think it would be amazing.

they explained why their will never be land changing spells in BNW2, i can't remember why but they wouldn't work properly and would cause a comp crash. the selection of Creatures from BNW 2 was too small, it needs to be about twice as big.

Dunno if anyone have said this already becouse I gave up reading every post after 4-5 pages... anyway, I would love to see a sandbox mode when you have finished the game. Just a BIG land with alot of different kind of villages (that you can choose before the sandbox map start). To have atleast one god in it with an ass kicking AI so you can keep the game alive even if you have completed it 4-5 times already :P

i dunno why but the level i enjoy playing most in BnW 2 is the tutorial level where their isn't any oppisition except for 3 units of very weak barbarian swordsmen. i would love a player made map like that one but their the Nuetral villages very alot more in size.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.

I'm glad to see this thread still alive and well, though the fact that after seven months its only eight pages long means bad things for the fanbase of B&W. Theres some very good ideas here, and It would be a shame if lionhead didnt read them and consider them. The game world OBVIOUSLY wants black and white 3, and if they made it right, and actually took the time this time, instead of rushing it, and if Molineaux actually gets into it, rather than holding it at arms length like a bastard child, then we would get a genuinely good and worthy sequel to one of the most groundbreaking and fun freeform games the industry has ever seen.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.

After 8 odd pages, there is no doubt in my mind that a lot of what I am about to suggest for BW3 (If it ever happens, fingers crossed though) will probably sound very repetitive and such, and so i'm sorry for that in advance. Call me lazy for not reading all the previous posts. Anywho, let's start with usable functions. Cool is all well and good, but practical is better. I want to see my godly hand able to manipulate the landmass and the water, at least to te extent where I can make a private island or something. I think with modern gaming technology a manipulatable landmass is a really feasible idea, but at the same time, let's not make this overpowered. Let's say you need to build a causeway between two islands to allow your people to migrate across to an ally. You see a fairly pointless looking mountain within your influence, so you have a couple of options: a) you can clean-cut the top off the mountain and plonk it down between the two islands. The mountaintop then crumbles and creates a nice new landmass joining the two. b) you instead shovel a handful out of the mountain's peak and drop the dirt into the water, slowly raising it, allowing for a more precise causeway. Making it so you have to take it out of existing landscape prevents you from making your haalf of an island a huge flat landmass to the end of eternity, but it also gives you a lot more freedom when it comes to building epic cities. Going along the terraforming idea, let's consider the creation of lakes. Maybe if you use the 'shovel scoop' you used to make your causeway on the water, it picks up a body of water, cupped between hands. You find a small ditch and place the water down, and it follows gravity down to the lowest point, decimating anything in the way. This was probably unfeasible when BW2 was developed, but it may be doable now, i'm not sure. Remember when you had those annoying armies running into your territory that were too small to do any damage, but your creature and men were elsewhere? I always wished my godly hand could be balled up into a fist and you could 'whack-a-soldier', or maybe even flick them. Such acts would be really evil, but it'd add a fun factor to being evil, making it all that more tempting to go that way. While flicking a person would be a more focused sort of attack and only hit a couple of men (maybe about ten, and in a line in the direction the finger is flicking), the balled fist thumping the ground would be a geneeralized area of effect attack that would not only squish people and buildings alike, but also creates a small shockwave that damages nearby architecture and bowls people off of their feet. Farfetched idea, but thumping a mountaintop = avalanche would be incredible. Mountain passes would be the bane of all armies. Minor Deities would be a really nifty idea, sort of like 'helper gods'. Cosnider htis scenario, your people see that a lot of your time consists of making it rain. What if soem of your people believed that the rain itself was a blessing, rather than you making it rain? In times of drought, your impressionable villagers could end up worshipping your rain rather than you yourself. By doing this, a minor deity is spawned, a small autonomous god that performs a single action. Back to the rain example, a minor deity of rain would hover above the landscape on a raincloud or something like that, and it would simply rain wherever they went. Maybe it wouln't be as effective as your own rain miracle, but it would be a constant thing wandering across your influence range. Other minor deities could exist as well, a deity of architecture and building, for example, or a minor deity of mining, or even a deity of human sacrifice who walks around, kidnaps children and throws them into your holy fires. Let's make some disciples who add to your good or evil points by being empowered by...well, you. A disciple of good could go around healing others, preaching the goodly word and helping out in whatever way he or she is able to. A disciple of evil, however, could be empowered with terrific and terrible powers, walking around making people spontaneously combust, turning them into animals or food for people to eat, and basically being detrimental to the wellbeing of your society. Maybe you could even disciple children, with an infant disciple of evil peeing in the food supply. Let's have an avatar form we can use if we choose, or even make it a miracle. Let us customize the appearance of our avatar, making it appear from a humble citizen to an almighty armor-clad fiend with blazing wings and twisted horns. Avatar size could also be dependant on how strong your religion is, and could develop in size over time like your creature. Let's make our god decide between an avatar or a creature, or something along those lines. A god can either have a constant influence on the world in the form of a creature, but the beast must be taught and trained what is right and what is wrong. An avatar is the other option, but it is a costly and temporary ability. Of course, if we can modify our avatars, let's make our creature modifyable too, allowing the growth of another head maybe, or change the colour and pattern of the beast's fur. If I really am determined enough and have the time to do so, let me be able to manipulate my tiger creature into looking like a Balrog. Maybe make it so that certain 'mutations' (or add-ons onto the creature) are inherently good or evil, preventing your demon-tiger from being completely good. Mod and Editor-friendly tools that ship with the game. Lastable games are moddable games that allow new and fresh functions to be redistributed by fans and developers of mods. Skirmish maps with a simple and easy-to-use editor would keep BW3 fresh for a long time. I would LOVE for a more customizable civ set, with maybe a tool that ship with the game that allows us to design our own buildings for our factions. Hey, if we're the gods of these poor fools, we can tell them how to build their cities. While we're at it, customizable soldiers? Different weapons, different stats, and a choice of up to five custom unit types, maybe. Differnet levels of armor = different movement rates and different costs, different weapons with different stats etc. so that if I wanted to, I could have five different types of swordsman with different levels of armor. Not the best idea to actually HAVE this, but you could do it. At the same time, you could have organizes bands of spearmen who can create shield-walls or phalanxes, organized archers who can fire in volleys or woodsmen archers who can ambush, naked berserkers with huge swords, or dagger-wielding platemail troopers, if you so wish. Multiplayer and Skirmish Modes. No need for explanation, just...please...make it so! Let's make ourselves a nice Single-Player campaign with a deeper SL then previously. Say, for example, maybe after you God goes to sleep and wakes up again, his people lose belief that he exists at all and you return to a city of atheists. While rebuilding your people's faith in you in another land, a minor deity is created by them who eventually tries to break free and become a 'real' god. Along the way of trying to reel in your renegade minor deity, you make a note to reconvince your original people that you ARE real (through whatever methods you choose to) or something. Anywho, i'm done for now. I probably missed some points Iwanted to add or something, but I'm pretty sure I covered the main points. Enjoy!

Some good ideas, many have been mentioned before, not all feasible without sacrificing some graphical detail (to free up processing power & memory). One point though:

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.

    1. Real, self-sustaining AI to manage enemy cities and platoons, rather than spawn armies.

    2. More army unit types (cavalry, heavy infantry, etc). Siege towers would be amazing as well (specifically for the next suggestion I'm going to make).

    3. More realistic city walls (taller, thicker so that you can zoom down and see the sentries patrolling the battlements).

    4. More sophisticated city infrastructure (behavioural settings for cities, policing, trade routes between your cities as well as between you and other civilizations, etc).

    5. More realistic conquering of cities (defeat all defenders and put down all resistance, take over administrative structures, etc).

    6. Less micromanagement (this goes hand-in-hand with more sophisticated  city infrastructure, which I suggested in #4). Being able to manage the populace through more macro settings rather than have to directly manipulate them would make it more enjoyable (more like one of those CivRome type games). This would probably also make it easier to have a more advanced NPC AI.

    7. A commerce system which actually keeps track of a total revenue being generated by a city, or all your cities. Using this money for multiple purposes, mainly researching new building types and such, would make much more sense than the tribute system.

Re: Black and White 3 Suggestion, add input.

I say if they make another Black and white (Wich I hope they do. I liked B&W more then fable to be honest) they should make a prequel (Or however it´s spelled) to B&W2! They should go back and make it more like the first one. You truly felt like a god in that one. It was actually a challenging game! The stupidest thing about B&W 2 was that I kept hearing people yelling "We need to breed!" I mean... I would like to help but I can´t! I forgot where I was going with this so.. Pretty please make another black and white game! *Puppy eyes*
