    RAVEK:
    Firefox seems to work fine, quaseman. At least I've been using it since the start with no problems (other than server-side NullPointerExceptions and such Wink [;)])

    Whether they fixed it or I, but at least I can write now and all buttons work like they're supposed to do. I change my browser identification from IE back to Opera and now it works. The mask as IE was necessary on the old forum because otherwise you received a message that login or password are wrong during the forum-login.

    Now the forum lost its shiny new outfit though. I have to test this further because right now everything is scaled much too small for my taste. The message box I write in right now is only 5x8 cm on my 19" screen which is very annoying.

    No complaints here. Just wanted to say that all seems to be working in Firefox and Safari.
    Change is bad, scares me.
    Change is Good [Good], interests me.
    Change happens, deal with it.

    I like the new design. Well done chaps!

    A sandbox forum where we can fiddle about with the new features would be nice, I think.

    The Beatles once sang "Money Can't Buy Me Love" , and from the look of the new forums, money can't buy LH nice webpages.

    What the hell has happened? Is this someones idea of progress? I hate it. It's awful too look at, and not a patch on the old boards. This is a great way to get rid of people. "Lets poke them in the eyes till they go away".

    It's just awful. I'm afraid this may be Good [Good]bye from me, I for one can't spend everyday looking at this. I don't have any kind of  'Resistance To Change', I just think it looks really, really bad.

    This is like a nightmare.

    Uhh? You think these changes were done to prevent people from visiting these forums? What even points in that direction, that Lionhead wants to get rid of customers rather gaining them?

    I find it funny that it is mostly TMO members that want to leave or hate it. I don't know why exactly. I am staying.

    (psst: Maybe they want thier studio badges :p Personally I feel that getting rid of them means more activity on the actual TMO site no?)

    Uhh. Surely you can detect a hint of sarcasm there MJ. Used to illustrate how he doesn't like the forums. It's fair enough really.

    Not everyones gonna be over the moon with em. I personally prefer the old ones too, but ho hum.

    Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

    I just wanted to say I really like the new boards, fantastic design and very user friendly. I love all the integration with Live and while I'm still getting used to some of the changes between this and the old boards I have to say I do like the new system.

    My only gripe so far has been the lack of a reply button at the bottom of threads and it does force you to have JavaScript enabled... but it's very swich :)

    Well done to everyone involved.

    ProfYaffel:

    Maybe I'm missing something, but Ican't seem to find some of the long running threads in OT, i.e. the Torn City and WoW threads... Tongue Tied [:S]

    These gone for a reason? Rolleyes [:rolleyes:]

    They're probably there - you'll jsut have to dig for them, though. It looks like a lot of threads are timestamped as having their last entry on the day they were created. And the search tool doesn't seem to have indexed everything yet - whether waiting on that will help remains to be seen.

    But on the plus side, is it jsut me or is there no longer a poll option when creating posts? If not, that should cut down on the spam a little, n'est pas?Wink [;)]

    Mind you, that would explain why any threads that had polls in them have gone missing if it's true...

    EDIT - and I dislike the way the new site doesn't let you right-click to cut and paste. But that's jsut force of habit right now and it's really just as easy to use CTRL c/v and doeant really matter. Conversely, I like the ctrl b/u/i features as far as saving time goesSmile [:)]

    quaseman:
    Now the forum lost its shiny new outfit though. I have to test this further because right now everything is scaled much too small for my taste. The message box I write in right now is only 5x8 cm on my 19" screen which is very annoying.

    I just checked it in a normal-sized window an I must say that makes things ugly. Mostly because the blank areas left and right are so huge.

    On a 1024 pixels wide screen things look meh – far too square. On 1280 things are acceptable, but only from almost 1400 and above do things actually look nice in my opinion.

    My suggestion is to lose the blank areas left and right unless the window is really large.

    not just ugly but bland it needs a fancy image to take away the blandness

    That's really rather wierd - I can right-click to cut and paste but I can't use Ctrl+C/V which would be my preference. Looking at the source, I noticed these suspicious lines :

    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var UserPref = user.psychicdetect.preference['CutnPaste'];
    Function__iHateThemAll(eventTarget,evenArgument){
      if (UserPref=="Ctrl") {
        FuckWithHead = RightClick;
     }
      Else {
       FuckWithHead = Ctrl;
     }
     Return Fuckwithhead
    }
    --!>
    </script>

    Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

    The posts need to be stretched across further like in the old forums. The poster's info to the left needs to be narrower as there's nothing needing that much space, but we'll see once my name is on there. I don't like how I had to sign in to hotmail or whatever just to then sign into here. I don't see how this benefits microsoft as it doesn't exactly benefit me.Zip it! [:#]

    What was the reason for all this?

    Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

    On closer inspection, it lets me paste, but not copy or cut from Rclick (this is all in the 'new post' making box, btw). I could probably very easily do something about it, but it is faster just to use keyboard shortcuts...

    Incidentally, isn't the new swearfilter great? Now we can all appear big and clever in the eyes of our peersSmile [:)]

    Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

    Just for info some of the formatting on the old threads (the ones that have been transferred has been lost in the change (see this thread for an example: http://community.lionhead.com/forums/ShowThread.aspx?PageIndex=1&PostID=188139Glasses [8)]

    So if you come across wierd looking posts that is why :)

    -edit-

    2 more things; I can't seem to find the search page... sometimes when I post a quick reply the page will refresh and my post wont show up (same with edits by the look of things.)...

    Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

    BSW, there's no reason to get so angry about it. Anyway, what you're doing isn't feedback, you're just ranting about the forums whilst, and it appears to be purposely, keepign as vague as possible. The only details as for why it's as terrible as you;re saying it is is that you don't like the look of it.

    What does that mean? You don't like the design, the colour, what don't you like about it?

    And your opinion clearly doesn't reflect the ones of everybody else; so where you're trying to go by saying it does I  have no idea.

    Saying you'll leave and making a big deal over it isn't going to do anything but annoy people; say what you like, say what you don't like, and then your post might have a purpose other than to be a tantrum.

    Well now, where's the I fuckingly hate it! option in that poll?

    Really I think that new design to be atrocious and why the hell does it use only two thirds of the screen?

    Can that be changed somewhere?

    It's because technology runs on one rule: smaller = better. Take a look at new computers, video game systems, etc. They're all small, and better!

    I like the layout, but I don't like how its not an automatic change from :P to Stick out tongue [:P] .

    Here is how it looks for me in 1600x1200:
    http://img367.imageshack.us/my.php?image=operanativeviewcf7.jpg
    My normal 1024x768 resolution doesn't make a big difference, but at least the fonts are a little bigger and the message box too. The most annoying thing are the empty spaces left and right, but they are also in IE7, so I think this is supposed to be that way.

    Opera doesn't work in the other modes, Firefox masked it screws up the move back and forward buttons and with IE mask it freezes everywhere. Sad [:(]

    So as long as this isn't fixed, I will probably limit my activities on lurking the boards, as writing is really annoying and I will not use the IE7 which is also installed but which I find by far not as comfortable than my trusty Opera. Wink [;)]
