Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
It is better he is aware, because then he doesn't have to edit in the pesky and irritating TM edit suite, and can use a more effective outside editing system.

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
*Update*
Hello everyone. It's been a long time since I did an update on this movie and I thought I'd just drop by to say how things have been going with the movie. I've been editing the movie quite a lot lately, 12 mins of the film [out of 20 mins] are edited now. The script for the alternate version was finished a few weeks ago, been shooting bits of it, very happy with the script and what I've shot. I've shot quite a bit of the alternate version, not loads but a fair amount.
Recently, I came up with out-takes for the movie. All of them I came up with in an hour, all just randomnly coming up in my head, I'm very pleased with the out-takes. I do feel that it would be better to have them in the making of" feature as I came up with 19 out-takes, probably about 2-3 mins of footage. Funnily enough, the script for the alternate version is quite a bit longer than the original script, which really surprised me at first. However, after a while I thought it was fine as this version was envisioned as a deeper look into what you see in the original, more character development, more stuff basically! BTW, just so you guys know this alternate version will not contain the following:
*The ***-o-meter
*The scenes of the analyzers analyzing the bullying scenes
This is because I felt the ***-o-meter didn't work in this other version as it's more serious and it was put in the original version as just an extra, little thing. Also, this version is more of a drama, so I felt it would kinda kill it if the ***-o-meter went off loads. Just thought I'd let you guys know of the changes.
Another thing is that some of the costumes you saw characters wear in previous trailers and clips [apart from the latest trailer I did, trailer 11] won't be the same in both versions as I felt whilst finishing up the shooting for the original version that it would be really cool and really clever to put in a link to the alternate version as otherwise it wouldn't really work, given the extensions of what you see in the other version, there would be bad continuity and no link.
here's the link to the latest trailer [for the original version]:
http://www.tmunderground.com/watch/4550284728eb26b0947e/Aspirations-trailer-11
there ya go.![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif)
As said in the trailer "Aspirations- Coming January 31st", it was on my mind for a while but I'm kinda busy with real-life committments atm, nothing left to do with the movie and I'm just a lot more confident with the choice to release it for Mid February, which is when it will be released for definate.![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
In terms of casting, everyone is on board for doing the alternate version, there was one character who couldn't be developed as she is really, really busy atm and went away from TMO a long time ago. All of which is ok as I understand that people move onto new and better things. I do admit that I really would of have liked to of have gone deeper in her character but what you see of her character is enough in a way, a lot of things are taken in by her stellar, short performance. There are two new people in this version, two teachers, I'm not sure at first who I will choose to play them but I will keep you updated!![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
I plan to release this original version Mid February, around 14th Feb or the 15th Feb, something like that. BTW, this is for definate now as there really isn't anything at all left to do. The alternate version I plan to release Summer time, thinking July or August time, I'll let you guys know.

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
*Update*
Many thanks for the nice comments and support as always guys. I have news. Aspirations has been going smoothly, editing-wise, all turning up nicely for Mid February. Also, last night I finished putting together a 3 minute music video for the film.
It can be watched here:
http://www.motionbox.com/videos/0a9adbb01015ebcb87
there ya go.![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif)
I did also upload something new recently, an excerpt from the new Comedy corner movie. Now, I did want to keep this as a surprise but just felt like it had to come out sooner or later. Basically, after all the fun I had making the 4 films and all the great reception they all had, the series had I mean I felt like I should make one, last one. Since April 2007, the idea was there but in the end I decided to go for something that was a lot more ambitious and interesting. Now, almost 2 years on since CC4 hit the silver screen the new one is on it's way. I have been editing it quite a fair bit. I don't want to spoil it or anything but I'll say a bit about what to expect. There's a lot more story this time round, no set of skits as promised at the end of CC4. I think it's also different as there's a balance of drama and comedy in this one and there's more time with characters, you get deeper into their characters. The storyline in a nutshell is that Steve's wife is starting to move on with her life as she's accepted he's gone for now no matter how much he loved her quite a few years [of which was hinted in the end of CC4] ago. I don't really want to spoil anymore in terms of the story as I feel it would kinda spoil it all then. Thing is, I felt that I was sort of playing with the audience with that ending but in a way, giving you something to think about for next time and now the movie that is going to explore that aspect is coming out!![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
To be honest, the shorts were a great idea and a lot of the material was great but it kind of felt like a TV show, like I was doing it in a tv show format as there wasn't that much character development, development with the plot. Not to say I hate tv shows, it's just I don't want to do it like that. I feel as the creator of the series that I've done the skit shows, now it's time for something new, which I think this is. I will say that the comedy is still there, pure comedy corner style but it's different to CC4 and the other 3 films. Another thing is that I wasn't expecting it to be a full feature and I realised a few weeks back it is whilst editing it, glad it's a full feature. This new movie is kind of spin-off in that it's different to the series, no line-up of skits, just pure story.
I don't have a set release date but just to get you more excited, there's the link to the special clip:

there ya go.![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif) ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
I'm still like working on Aspirations, along with this. This one is pretty much done in a way, 5 mins out of 20 mins of the film are already done [for the new Comedy corner movie] and Aspirations is moving along nicely. I'll have more news for you guys soon!

*Update*
Hey there guys. Thanks for the comment kit, glad you enjoyed both the videos.![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
Yesterday, I finished up a last trailer for the new Comedy corner movie, the link is below:
http://www.motionbox.com/videos/0a94d6b21e18e0c287
there ya go.![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif)
The release date is TBA for the new comedy corner movie but it'll probably be 2 months or so from now. Things are moving along with it, all overlays are done, everything is shot, 1/4 of the film is edited now, just gotta get the vo's sorted and the movie will be finished. It's going very so far. As for Aspirations, the release date is Mid February, so thinking somewhere around after 16th February [very important day that is, my interview for University]. I would like to say that these last two movies [technically three in a way with the alternate version of Aspirations] are my last two TM movies. It's been a great ride making TM movies for the last three years but I feel as a director, script-writer, actor it's time to move on into doing live-action stuff, as I am doing at University. I have done some live-action stuff in the past but nothing on the scale of what I get to do at University, really looking forward to it, can't wait!![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
I'll let you guys know about more news on these two last projects of mine.

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
*Update*
Hey there guys. Thanks for the nice comments and support as always. I really appreceite it.![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
Got some news and some bad news.
Firstly, the news is I've been editing up the new comedy corner movie today, done with editing the scenes up, just need to work on the sound [sound-effects and vo's, music sorted]. I did save a movie file of the movie with extra stuff I shot, extra scenes of the Jamaican and Steve's wife talking just incase I needed them. Reason being, I felt like I hadn't got enough footage, turns out I do. Plus, I saved another movie file of what I had edited up to that point, which seemed very accurate from looking at the script. In other words, the extra footage I had I deleted in this other movie file. I saved an extra file just in case it came to doing a longer cut and shorter cut. Not sure if that will be the case but anyways, the run-time for the original cut I did is 16 mins, 24 secs. That might go down a bit to just perfect a few little things in editing but it seems pretty damn fine.
Now, the bad news, Aspirations will be coming out after this movie, the new comedy corner movie. Reason being, I just feel that with Aspirations it's near completion but I want to perfect it a bit more like re-shooting a few things, etc. Unlike the new comedy corner movie which is much closer to being finished. I'm setting about a February release [late] for this new comedy corner movie. I'll be going for an early March release for Aspirations. I apologise for holding back Aspirations yet again but to be honest, I've got college committments too which are very important too, so.... yup. I'll keep you updated.![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif) ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
*Update
Hey there everyone. I have great news on the new comedy corner movie. Earlier tonight I finished up selecting all the sound-effects for it. I'm really pleased with them. I put them in place and added some effects to them like fade-outs in Audacity [love that program! ]. Now that's done, all left to do is the voice-overs, me and my cousin are going to have a few sessions recording all our lines over the half-term [which starts the end of this week, Friday ]. Also, I did add a sound-effect to the montage in the film, which I exported recently. Personally, I think it adds a bit more to the experience as the music is fading out, it works brillantly I think. V. pleased.
Not sure if I mentioned this, I apologise if I have, this is the last comedy corner movie. Reason being, I've loved doing all of them up to this point but for me this is the one to finish it on. If this one was like the four previous movies I wouldn't be doing it, thankfully it isn't, it's different and fresh. There's a very well developed storyline this time, before in the previous movies there were sub-plots which were developed very well. However, this isn't the case here as it's a full on story. To be honest, I didn't know how long it would be in the writing stage. Atm, it still stands at 16 mins, 24 secs. I may cut it down a tincy bit with putting our vo's into the movie next week. If that is the case, which is probably gonna happen, the movie will only be cut down by a few seconds at the most. For me, it's great finishing up a new movie whilst Aspirations is on hold for explained reasons, especially as today it is a year since I started shooting the short thriller I made with my media group for college. Not just that, it's also a year since Acceptance was finished [technically a year on February 14th, pretty much there though]. On top of that, it's 2 years [pretty much] since I was finished shooting the previous movie in the franchise, CC4. Not to mention the fact that it's 7 months [technically on July 12th] since I finished Time. A thing about that movie, when finishing it up for I had the liberty of finishing it a day before I released it on TMO [great site, will remember it forever, had a blast on there making movies ]. It's just a great place to be, especially with my interview for University up next week, going to show them some of my work and the thriller I made for college. So excited!![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
Anyways, back on topic. This new comedy corner movie is called something a bit weird [in a way] but I think it works for it is as I couldn't come up with anything else, lol. The name is "The Return of CC: The spin-off", there you have it. The plot [without spoiling it] is basically this: It shows what happens next to Steve's wife and it centers around the relationship between the Jamaican and Steve's wife. I will say I think this movie is truly great, the shots, the music, sound-effects, the dialogue, I love it! The thing with sequels is you can only do a certain amount with a franchise until it becomes really obvious to yourself you're shooting yourself in the foot [not literally] with the material. I have done quite a few sequels with franchises of mine, counting all of them makes 7 [including this one]. The last sequel I did with the "She will always live forever" franchise was very [so was CC4] and I felt that was to be the end of it [not in CC's case ].
For a long time that was the final decision, then about 5-6 months later or something like that I thought "I wanna do another one! Glad I didn't, the material wasn't very , didn't get to finish the script but I just wanted to try and see how far I could go with, possibly alter the flaws in the writing as what I wrote was honestly a load of rubbish. For example, in the third movie where Sergeant Kips gets shot, shotgun bullet, which would kill anyone pretty much I wrote a scene in which he somehow miraculously survived. Also, that he went to kill Marcus, but then Marcus was saved as somehow Marie saved him by a shot to the head with her sniper rifle. At the time of writing it, I thought it was allright, passable but looking back over it some days after I just thought "Am I kidding myself? I think I really am! The thing was the last movie in the series wrapped it up nicely so all of this new material for this other sequel to the franchise wouldn't of have worked.
The difference here with this new sequel for the Comedy corner franchise is that the material is all fresh, some of the typical comedy corner humour is there but it's . Having said that I will say that it will be v. difficult to understand plot-wise if you haven't seen the others. Reason being, past events in the series are touched on. Basically, what you see is a complete continuation of what was briefly touched on right at the end of CC4 between The Jamaican and Steve's wife. If this was the sequel that the other SWALF movie [the one that never got done as it wasn't v. ] was I wouldn't of have done it. I think this movie is different to the others, it shows a lot which the others haven't, more time with characters, extension of a story [as at the end of CC4]. Ironically enough, this sequel hasn't had really anything taken out of it. Usually I take quite a bit out of sequels, for example: I cut out some of the dialogue for one scene in the last SWALF movie as I personally didn't think it went with the flow. The dialogue I cut out was great but it just didn't go with the flow, it slowed it down which isn't . Yet another example, in Aspirations I cut out of a bit of the dialogue in one scene as the dialogue was great but didn't flow with it all. I think what's great about cutting stuff out is that you lose some great stuff but know it's for the best, you know it's great stuff but you have put it to the side to get the definitive version you want, which you're more pleased with. Having said that, sometimes in the past with sequels I have done, I did cut out some bad stuff [truly bad stuff].
I will say on the situation with Aspirations, it is very near completion but a few things aren't completed yet [like titles] which is kinda pulling it back. I don't regret this as I know you can only do so much at one given time on a big project. With this comedy corner movie, everything was complete to go into post-production properly, e.g. all the shots and all the titles. As of now like I say, the sound-effects are all done, only the vo's are to be done. The difference here is that only 2 actors [me and my cousin] are in this movie. The thing is that this is the only movie I would make with two actors in it, also given it's length and it's story [in terms of adding on to what CC4 left the audience on]. Now, when I say two, I mean just two, not two leads and a few others, only two actors. I know that might sound a bit shocking at first for a 16 minute movie but I assure you that's not the case. I personally think it works, everything that happens in the movie is all around them. One other character, Steve [as seen in CC1 and CC2] is shown, no vo's though. He's showed in a clever, cool way, of which I won't spoil. His character works with a part of the story very well so I couldn't leave it out, otherwise what happens wouldn't make sense. To be honest though, this movie wasn't ever going to happen 2 years ago [pretty much] when the 4th movie was out as I was going to do the shorts, I found the shorts to be too much after some-time getting into the writing stage [about by the 3rd episode out of 9]. Then, some-time after I just put everything to the side for new comedy corner movies, sequels rather as I just thought that should be it. However, time past and things changed. A plot-line that would of have been touched on in the shorts I changed into a very, very solid script and movie. Two years ago I never thought from hearing an idea to do this story on the both of them [The Jamaican and Steve's wife] would work and it does. For me that's it, no more as it's been a great series and for me, there's nothing more to cover, it's all there, in these 5 films.![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
Just to state what I mean on proper post production, I've realised over the last two months that you can as I kind of remember from before shoot everything you want for the movie, but if you're unpleased with what you've shot, in terms of down to continuation problems [like in Aspirations I had to re-shoot a scene where the actor's lipstick changed in a conversation], other related stuff like that [nothing to do with vo's] you can re-shoot some scenes, possibly add some new footage if possible. Then you can put it into Post-production where what you've edited already is the same as it was, it's just you've got to put it in the right order. I will say I did this both for Aspirations and this new comedy corner movie. With this new comedy corner movie, I had to shoot some extra conversation scenes and extra scenes for the montage [as at first, it didn't work, there weren't enough scenes to go with the music]. I recommending trying this option when coming close to finishing a movie, it's very .![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)
So, that's pretty much everything I have to say in this update. One last thing, the new comedy corner movie will be coming out next week some-time, not sure when but i'll keep you updated!![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif) ![Smily [:)]](/emoticons/emotion-1.gif)

Re: ~Aspirations~ *New Official production thread*
*Update*
With the comedy corner movie out of the way to edit and all that, I've been working crazy on Aspirations today, literally. I've cut everything down pretty fine. Just really shocked at the length atm. The cut I have atm is 27 mins.![Crazy []](/emoticons/crazy.gif) This is very surprising given the test edit I did 8 months ago was only 21 minutes, without credits. Having said that, I decided to cut the opening titles down severly, down to 19 secs, so the audience gets right into the movie. Really glad I decided that as the movie is damn long! The ending credits are 2 mins long, just thought I'd say.
I probably might cut out 30 secs or something near that to perfect my editing but wow, 27 mins, Holycomoly! It's ironic as I decided, I'll cut down the movie a bit at the end when the second of the two analysers makes her last part to finish the movie. I realised at even that it was 27 mins, then I cut a few little things done. I'm really a bit freaked out about doing the alternate version now [as much as I really wanna do it and as much of a great script which is] with the TM software. I may even have to cut this one in half if sound issues arise, which they might but we'll just have to see. Given that, i'll probably have to cut the alternate version [if done with TM software] into 3 parts. I will say don't expect this to be out soon as it's a v. long movie to sort the sound for. We're looking very for Early March now. So, to put it all in a nut-shell, so to speak, all the vo's are in, the music is all sorted, the sound-effects I'll be searching around for a tincy bit more this week [as I found quite a lot some months back ], all titles are sorted. Everything's ready to go, in other words, we're on the winning team! Really glad it's very, very close to the end of making this film now after 19 months it's been in production. BTW, The new comedy corner movie is set to come out 22nd February.
I will keep you guys updated!![Up []](/emoticons/icon14.gif)
