Re: Are we going to see actual complete gameplay at GDC
I think the first two was needed for the third, and I feel that points to husbands and wives be able to play a game together. (AKA: Offline Co-op.)
Think about what would a game need to have to get your wife into it?
Just going around killing? No.
Emotions? Yes.
a system that equally friendly to skilled and unskilled players? Yes.
Being able to play together? YES!
Puppy? Yes indeed.
Let’s see what else do we known and a wife would like about fable 2?
You can play as a female, the fashion of the 18 hundreds kick but, breast physics, getting married and have kids.
I think my wife will enjoy the alignment morph, and magic and guns is more her style then sword or bows.

wrongfire:I really... really.. hope its not multiplayer. Unless, once again, its revolutionary.
If it is offline co-op then LH will need to also give solo-players something at GDC also. Voice controlled emotes or show off a great magic system I think would keep solo player fans happy.

Re: Are we going to see actual complete gameplay at GDC
I hope that it won't be some form of online feature, I myself do not have xbox live and therefore such a feature would cut me out and im sure I won't be the only one.
I didn't say it was your fault... I said.. I was going to blame you!

Re: Are we going to see actual complete gameplay at GDC
I think they are more interested in including the female and casual gamer market and not cutting any of their current gamer market out. And the thought of them trying to compete with MMORPG market would not be a profitable call.
Live market place could be a possibility, but really don’t see any ground breaking possibilities with that.

Exactly my point, although they CAN do revoutionary stuff with online play, fable 2 didnt go into its production saying "We will make the greatest multiplayer experience!" You even heard Peter say in some podcast that "Online is a feature wed like to look into, but I cant talk about that" maybe they have something incredible up their sleeves about multiplayer. But I doubt it.. Dont get me wrong.. Online play would be fun, but not really the greatest feature to unvail as the Big 3.

I don't understand this. What MMO market on the Xbox 360 would they be competing against? Besides MMO does not mean online, you can have small groups of people playing together without it fitting in that classification.
I've said this before but a online system is the best third feature Lionhead could announce, nothing will make the game better than that. Things like smart AI or a simulated world are interesting but they fail by comparison to online. Online will keep people playing for hundreds of hours longer, let them experience Fable 2 with friends and draw online gamers to the game (which they might not have bought if it was only offline). I don't think there can be a bigger feature than online, so I think the big third feature will be online.

Re: Are we going to see actual complete gameplay at GDC
MMO is massively multiplayer online is it not? I'd prefer just a co-op option than online features I think this is one of those rare games where cooperatie gaming could be funner than versus play.

Key word being massively........were not talking about many, many people just a few.
"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property...Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them." (Thomas Paine, Thoughts On Defensive War, 1775)

Xbox360 games have to compete with not just Xbox360 games but other non-MS console games and PC games. There are tons of MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) and MORPGs (Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) like “D&D online” online gamers in a big market but go to mmorpg.com and see their ‘Game List” to see who they would have to compete with.
FYI: I do not recommend Pirates of the burning Sea, Vanguard is high-quality but needs a kick ass PC to be high-quality, and LOTR Online is sweet.

Re: Are we going to see actual complete gameplay at GDC
On-line in Fable 2 would be pretty funny, you and a couple of buddies could sit on top of Lucien's tower and drink a few pints while trying not to fall off the fifty mile high spire due to drunkenness. ![Dead [:notalive:]](/emoticons/dead.gif)
But seriously on-line would be awesome, not MMO style but maybe you and a friend or two adventuring in the world of Albion at the same time with your heroes. Sadly, I doubt this will be the next big feature because if you think about it, different heroes with different agendas doing the same quest at the same time may cause a rift between players for instance...
...Suppose you, (a Will-User), and your friend, (and warrior), come across a small village in the middle of the woods, you decide to help the village with their problems, (whatever they might be), and your friend decides to pillage it, what then? The only way for on-line play to work would be finding friends based on morality and alignment, plus there are other problems like quests and character development outside of the single-player story line. Also, Lionhead just recently finished all of the main quests around Christmas, and Fable 2 is slated for a 2008 release so the chances of a fully fledged on-line world separate from the main game look very slim to me.

Yes Voor, I'm well aware of what a MMO actually stands for and the different ones that are out at the moment. I don't agree with your 360 games need to compete with different console games comment (for the most part), I see what your point is but I think its not quite correct. Games usually don't compete with other games on different platforms, 360 games compete for 360 gamers. The PS3 market, Wii market, PC market and Xbox 360 market are all different, there may be some overlap but not enough to say they are all in direct competition with each other.
At the moment the 360's MORPG (and MMORPG) market is lacking. Just to get back to the original point (because I went off topic), Fable 2 wouldn't suffer if it had online gameplay because there is a strong MMO market on the PC, it might even draw those gamers into the Xbox 360 community and Fable 2.

Re: Are we going to see actual complete gameplay at GDC
I'm quite sure that if it was going to be an MMO, we'd know by now. It's going to be a Fable sequal. Meaning no MMO. They wouldn't hold that type of vital info from the public this close to release. If they have, they've been attracting the wrong type of crowd to this game's following. Most of us will ditch these forums and a bunch of people from the WoW forums will migrate over. But we're Fable players. We want a Fable. Say 'No' to MMO!

"Big Tree Features"
The only thing that comes to mind atm, is either a Family tree, but hes already mentioned that as he? Or alot of ideas that BRANCH of'a eachother.
Tbh I hope multiplayer is in this game just like 4/6 people online nothing big but something fun sort of liek Diablo 2 style type games, where you could run round do what ever you wanted, bit of PVP, PVE then socialising.

I highly doubt it will be online since the first big thing was bigger than online since it has never been done before and will revolutionize gaming. Think of this as a paragraph you 2nd strongest point first weakest 2nd and third point is the strongest for this reason i doubt it will be online unless it is revolutionairy as in you and your friend could play one as lucien one as the hero or both being hero's (this would be bloudy brilliant)
