Torchlight is kind of a hack-n-slash.  In fact, that's exactly what it is.  Did you like the Diablo games, matneee?

    Re: What are you playing?

As it happens, Diablo is one of those things that completely passed me by. No particular reason - I just never got round to playing them. I'm sure I'll enjoy Torchlight - I just figured I may as well King's Bounty first instead, having paid for it and everythingWink [;)]
    Besides, it's G o o d [Good] to find a Turn-Based combat game for once...

    Re: What are you playing?

I just beat Modern Warfare 2 on Veteran and it was much easier than Modern Warfare 1. I beat it in 7 hours to so I was disappointed with the length. The ending was fun though.

I just obliterated Bioshock, with the g'ood guy and bad guy endings. Now for achievements, no? That could possibly be draining, save for the handy-dandy 1up superguides.

So, Assassin's Creed 2 is amazing.  No more repetitiveness, faster parkour, the introduction of puzzles, and lots more assassinating.  It's eleven tons of fun and well worth my money!

Well, after 20 hours in AC2, I've finally finished the story.  It was hella fun!  Time to spend another 6 or 7 on 100% completion.

I agree, DAO is a very addictive game, as soon as I complete AC II, I will go back and play my next origin on Dragon Age.

That's G o o d [Good] to know. I have a copy of DA waiting to be opened, as soon as I'm done with Demon's Souls. It'll probably be AC2 afterwards.

I love it when I can find games that keep me entertained longer than a week!

That would be DAO,  you will be logging some hours on it, the graphics are not all that, however if you can see past that, and you like a G o o d [Good] story with some intense puzzle solving, tough combat and rpg, you will be really happy with it.

As for ACII, I intend to actually log some hours playing it this weekend, I really haven't had much of a chance because of work. so far though AC II has been killer as well.

    Re: What are you playing?

Been playing DAO. One late fee, baby! Let's roll'em in!(JK) I will confess, I expected to be able to play as the character from the trailers, and be able to speak. I mean, come on! Bioware did it before in Mass Effect. Why the hell do I care what grunts and snarls my character says when he/she fights? The only reason I would be pumped for a voice for the protagonist is if you could really hear his dialogue. Note: Lionhead could steal this idea. Must encourage. That, and it's rather difficult for an RPG. I went up to the Frosty Mountains to give a man something that sounded like a DRAFT document, and was ambushed by some powerful enemies. I high-tailed it back to Lothering immediately after I died and loaded twice.

Other than that, I just downloaded all the Developer Diaries for Assassin's Creed II, have yet to watch parts three through five. It's interesting to see someone pick up on the diaries idea from Lionhead. In fact, I encourage it to become a trend in the gaming industry. I am looking forward to the beautiful and gory acrobatics of that game. Very excited for Mass Effect 2, but still need to get Mass Effect 1, solely for Mass Effect 2's saved data reading.

My brother told me about Demon's Souls. Otherwise, I have not seen, heard, tasted, touched nor smelled it's existence or advertisement. I will check into this. From what he says and this Meralonne's opinion, it sounds like a G o o d [Good] game; I hope to be intruiged.

    Re: What are you playing?

    LittleBigPlanet on the PSP.

Been scratching my head over this one. As far as I can tell, it should be impossible. This is LittleBigPlanet, on the PSP. Think about that for a second - it's LittleBigPlanet, on the PSP.

Not a game starring Sackboy on the PSP. Not an LBP themed platformer on the PSP. It's the whole shebang - all the gameplay, the level editor, stickers, costumes, all the community uploading/downloading, physics-based insanity, criminally inventive story levels, supercool music, fantastic art-design, bouncy fun. All on a handheld.

I've been pondering this. And I can only conclude that it's all powered by Witchcraft - Sony Cambridge should be applauded for their forward thinking use of black magic in the field of programing.

There are a few concessions. Multi-player went right out - apparently just having it there adds 30%+ to the processor overheads, and the psp simply couldn't cope. There are 2planes of depth rather than 3. The cutout tool only works on shaped painted using the grid tool (not as restrictive as it sounds once you figure out how to work with it), and the global level lighting seems to be gone.

But apart from that, it's all there - it's even improved on a few aspects, with slightly tighter controls and some simple but how-did-I-live-without-this-before tweaks to the editor. But the look, the feel, the physics, all the switches, levers, connectors, brains, mouths, camera-anglers and so on. All there. 30 completely new story levels BTW. They're great too - really feelG o o d [Good] stuff. It's, well, LittleBigPlanet, on a PSP.

Anyway, the fact that they've got this working on a PSP is frankly unbelievable. Easily the best handheld game ever made by a massive margin, and then some. Frankly, if I had to chose my game of the year at this point, it'd be really hard pushed to choose between Uncharted 2 and LBP-PSP. It's that G o o d [Good]. If you've not got a PS3 to play the original blu-ray, I'd go as far as to say that for the right people it's genuinely worth buying a PSP just for this.

EDIT - worth bearing in mind when reading this that I think that the original LBP is one of the 3 best games ever made. If you're one of those people who lacks the patience, imagination or whatever else to get to grips with making your own fun in games, you'll just be getting an (admittedly great) platfomer with potentially unlimited fan-made levels.

    Re: What are you playing?

Just a little question here for people who paid for Assassin Creed... Did you get the exclusive map pack in the normal unspecial edition of the game? Me and my brother are at odds ends about the exclusive pack, see he sent me down today to get the game with £40 for it, and I caught a glimpse at the White edition that had the statue and the Exclusive map pack, I paid the extra £15 so I could get the Model and map pack while he got the video game (which I'll play while he's at work for the week as I normally do). However as the map pack was inside the box of the game and not the packing box of the white edition my brother claims it has his saying that it probably come with every edition of the game so its rightfully his... I've shown him the list of things that are included in the normal and White editions of the game and the normal did not include the extra content while the white edition does... so it should be rightfully mine... he still claims that it isn't and that it's rightfully his.

I just need to know if any one got this content in the normal edition so I can show my brother your message and maybe that will prove whether the content is mine or his. I hope this is answered soon and not just ignored... I paid £15 for this I don't want skanking, I knew it's just a little map pack and it will be on Xbox live in a couple of weeks but it's the principle of the matter.

    Re: What are you playing?

I got one exclusive map for preordering it one day before it came out.  It was in the box, though, that's the weird thing.  Why would they ship two separate copies for preorders and in-stores?  I think you're right in that the exclusive map is in all copies, but I don't think it's the same as the Limited Edition map.
