Sad [:(]Strange, it doesn't let me delete this post.

How long's the new limit for that then?

It’s because they have tried to blend into the world before, and people continue to disappoint them."

Its not too bad, i am happy to see that you've got rid of the things that had people complaining. You guys did a Good [Good] job, a little confusing but shoulden't take too long to get use to it.
A sig hmmmm, I got nothing, anyone wanna help.

    Yeah, that's ridiculous.

I was also just ranting a bit about the general look though. Stick out tongue [:P] It's fine for me, but if I had an 1024 x 768 screen I'd not like it much.

It might just be me (or Firefox), but I suddenly get the feeling it's way too bright. Might be all the white assaulting my eyes. Tongue Tied [:S]

Going on about looks, I too would like the forum to simply adapt to the resolution. Those white bars on the side make it only look less professional and force me to scroll more, you know. Wink [;)]

And they blind me. Stick out tongue [:P]

Also, I just noticed that the new smiley format still annoys me, and that I still miss the B&W Fan-Fiction board! Stick out tongue [:P]

Keep in mind that screenshot was from 1600x1200, in 1024x768 the free spaces are less but still too much.

I would like to run the masked modes of Opera, but the IE mask doesn't let me type in anything and the Firefox mode screws up many things too. I doubt that Opera will address this bug with a new release but I may make some input at the community there. Wink [;)]

My bigest concern was for my Storyteller's Competition thread in 'The Movies' forum, because...  well, I had not saved the links to the movie entries.

But Fear not! There it was, and was easily bumped to the top of the first page...

Everything in order...   Because I know, deep in their hearts, the admins wanted to make sure that my little contest was their very highest priority!

Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

I think there is way to much empty space and way to little message space... Makes it look clumsy, also there should really be a signature image limit... I can already see where this is going to end with big movie poster signatures.Rambo [:rambo:]

Solar, your name implies you want it to be bright!

Well, I'm getting used to it now. Not sure why they've reorganised the list of boards though, but tehre must be some system behind it.

Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

I have made another two screenshots. Here you can see the unnecessary waste of space with IE (red marked):

... and here you can see the unnecessry waste of space with Opera:

... which obivously shows that it doesn't interpret the Java script in the right way. But as I mentioned before, it can be forced to render it right but then the buttons refuse to work and I can't type in the message box becuase the cursor goes off as soon as I click in the field. If I click in the message field often enough, everything in the window will freeze and I have to close the tab or refresh it.

I would really appriate if somebody (official) could make a statement on this and if this will be solved in the future.

I like the red... perhaps you could e-mail it to Sam for a new design layout?

On Sam's Blog he makes an official statement about the way they will be working with the bugs, the new featuers, etc. So that might help you with a possible timeframe to see the fixing in action Up []

An extreme amount of flaws, sure youve cleaned up some things that annoyed people, but you've taken things out, for no apparent reason, that made it Good [Good], thus annoying people again.

I don't understand how we get so many double/triple/multiple posts as I haven't managed to do one yet ... but it is annoying that they can't seem to delete the posts when they have made them, it's hard to berate someone for multiple posting if they can't do anything about it Wink [;)]

Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

I don't really like the new visual design.
It's kind of devoid of any identity that was once there.
I mentioned it in another thread, the forum used to be shaped like an old roman building with a big clock and pidgeons.
No other forum to my knowledge had anything like it and it made the forum uniquely Lionhead's.
This new visual design on the other hand is so clean and orderly that it's almost scientific.
As if made by a programmer, not a graphical designer.
It has it's advantages ofcourse, being clean and all that, and the site gained a lot of functionality, but isn't there any middle-ground here?

Same for me, Forum button leads to Community Home.

I read about the changes and bug fixes they will do in the coming weeks, so I hope they get Opera working correctly. Although I doubt it because it seems to be a general problem of Microsoft forums with Opera, at least that is what the Opera Community says. In the meanwhile I will use IE7 and you will have to live with my typing errors ... probably for ever! Ogre [:ogre:] Smile [:)]

Another one who can't get to the 'Top View' of the forums here - also bad linkage on the aforementioned button. I assume it's being worked on at the mo, right now...

And without the rep system it's hard to do it anonymously and gigle at their compleint in rep complaints...

    I mean... Paranoid [:Paranoid:]

I know why, it's because of the lag people think it;s not loading and double click the button, or just double (or triple, or whatever) click for any other reason, and sometimes the forums'll let both posts in. However, the ones I was talking about (sorry about forgetting your name Wink [;)]) are something different, I think.

Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

We know about the linking problem if you click on FOrums at the top. The problem in the default.aspx page which redirects you to the Homepage.

Please use this link - http://community.lionhead.com/forums/34/ShowForum.aspx - for Site Feedback, and this link - http://community.lionhead.com/forums/default.aspx?GroupID=5 - for Games.

I wouldn't count on any fixes for Opera, we "have to" recommend IE7 but everything should work in FF.

Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

Only thing that is particularly annoying currently, is the speeed of the site - it seems much much slower than previously, although I assume this is probably something that'll be worked out soon since it is a very new system.

+ what's the point in having "former high karma" badges, surely there's little point in linking to the "past" karma system - either needs to just be "high karma" (even without the K. system in place) or needs a new badge of some kind (like "respected member" or something)

EDIT: Aww crud, I didn't notice that my name I entered is wrong dammit! Iwas David1991 not DavidR1991, stupid random 'R', that'd explain why none of my details existed in my profile what-so-ever I assume Sad [:(]
