That is a very
question.
With Maze, his lust is an example of how corrupt he has become during the years that he worked for Jack of Blades. He wants her but not because he loves her. Maze wants to possess her and feels entitled to her due to the years he has invested in her.
Bloodraven is equal parts lust and setting her up for a betrayal. In all honesty, I did not like the way that arc went down and I feel it should have been resolved a different way. In fact, during the rewrite, I threw out most of Chapter 5 and all of Chapter 6.
In many ways, it is an entirely different story.
The Guild is a very corrupt place, in my opinion. They only do
if they are paid to do so and there are no consequences within the Guild for you if you regularly sacrifice villagers and traders to Skorm. It is a place where you trade passion for power and the rewrite goes into that a little more.
Once again, I seem to have gone off on a tangent so I'll cut this off short... or shortish at the very least. The first Chapter of the rewrite will be going up momentarily.
I hope you all enjoy Sorrow's Lament.
Ciao for now.
