Re: Music you dislike and why.

Ah, I see, point taken and agree with it. Smily [:)]

I don't like most Electronic or Techno, 'cept for some of the early stuff, like Kraftwerk wich sounded a lot like the makers of early Sci-Fi shows thought music in the future would sound (see some predictions do come true!). Daft Punk is nice because they have a recognizable melodie, but most other stuff just doesn't. I'm told it is great to dance and lose yourself to, but the same person told me that it is great to be on XTC, so I don't think of her as being that reliable. However, Techno and Electro certainly have the benefit of being inoffensive party music* that just so happens to follow a beat I can not get into.

*If there should be happen other kinds I didn't encounter them yet.

Oasis is over-rated mediocrity. I don't actually mind their music, but I do absolutely loathe the worship they get from their (thankfully dwindling) fanbase.

I'm not a worshiper of Oasis, I think both Neil and Liam are pricks, but I enjoy there music, that all goes on opinion, my anger wasnt in the real dissing of Oasis but in the ignorance or the kid who said it, basicly classifying me as an emo becuase I listen to some think other then Uprising or That Soldja boy fellow, My general hatered was pointed at the fact the kid labeled any think that isnt Rap or Clubland or RnB to be Emo music.

emo, rap, country, big commercial crap. Some of the mainstream stuff is okay but enough with the fake big band one hit wonders.

*And what's with band's going back to wearing makeup. I mean look at poppa roach. They were kind of cool, now they look like emo ferries.

rap- juvenile, boring topics that appeal to high school and jr high goers

country - I don't want to hear about your girl leaving you, trucks, your dog, and drinking booze in redkneck ville

commercial rock - repetative, boring, and flighty

Name 1 "emo" band and I can defend the position Wink [;)]

Rap - depends what genre of rap but things like Public Enemy, 2pac and Eminem all touch on subjects that are important to the world at large.

Country - You don't like Ryan Adams or Dolly Parton? Songs about mundane life that ring true to a lot of people, don't know why people would want to listen to that...

Commercial Rock - Bon Jovi could be classed as such and I find that brilliant to get myself psyched up before a night out because it's so cheesy it makes me smile! "Whoa livin' on a prayer"

Remixes. Sometimes they're ok but most are horrible. Example remix of Thriller.

Techno. I just don't like it.

Death Metal or as I call it Screamo. Second name is enough explaination.

Oh you got me there, Johnny Cash is BA.  But would you consider him country?  I don't think I could categorize him like that.

Oh but he most definitively is, to say it with the immortal words of Lorreta Lynn:

"If you're looking at me, you're looking at country", if you listen to Johnny Cash you're not only listening to a important figure in country music, but to the very heart and soul of country music.

I think 2pacs contradicts himself alot, one song "It aint about Black and White becuase were human" scored points with me, becuase it showed that he wasnt a racist and that he was showing equality in his music, and then he makes a song named "Stricktly 4 my N.I.G.G.A.Z"  and makes songs with lyrics like "To all of my Niggaz" and to top it off he gang rapes some one,  losing all the respect I have for him.

But 'nigger' doesn't mean anything anymore. It's not considered a racist term amongst a certain demographic of black people, and I've even seen white people use it and not cause any trouble. It's a very bizarre word, where if you're accepted as 'black' (even if that isn't your skin colour) it's a G o o d [Good] thing to use it to 'reclaim' it from how it degraded into a racist term.

A lot of these songs come from a culture and a problem in America that is nearly impossible to understand in England, yet bizarrely is highly emulated.

The only thing worse than beating a dead horse is betting on one.

Re: Music you dislike and why.

Depends on how you look at it, see I'm sure explaining this to you will probably *insult your intelect, but "Niger" is latin for black so a song with a name like Strickly 4 my niggaz is pritty much saying Strickly for my blacks, I'm not offended by the word and I dont understand why its seen as an offence anymore, its sorta like me being offended by being called a hwi't  or hwitaz, but I found it funny that he would sing a song saying that it doesnt matter if your "black or white becuase were human" then name a song "Stricktly for my blacks".

    * by insult your intelect I mean you probably know this and not that I think your stupid, just to clear that up before I accidentally offend you.

I have noticed that a lot of people have some misconceptions on what death metal really is. This is Death Metal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aep-u0-CUSc

    This is Screamo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcaqn65Znxo

Now I like screamo, but death metal is crap.

I also dislike emo its just...I don't know...I just don't like. I really can't explain it, I am not sure if its the music or the vocals but when I listen to it I am just put into an irritable mood.

Besides that I like pretty much everything else, some I like some I don't.

To the hip-hop fans, such as myself, I do not consider Public Enemy and 2Pac in the same stream of music as artists like Lil Wayne, or Soulja Boy.

I do like country, but I think that sometimes the lyrics are hysterical.
"I love my tractor more than I love my wife." is practically what they say.

Bon Jovi doesn't explain the mess that is Jonas Brothers, or Paramore.
