I'd like to just throw in my two cents here, if i may.

For one, you guys may not be aware of this but these forums have been posted in news stories on Kotaku, IGN, Gamespot and elsewhere as evidence of fans being disappointed with co-op.

Of course, there are the users who suck up to the moderators or developers, or the users who genuinely dont care, who will post here demonising the complainers and thanking Lionhead for their efforts in releasing what can only be described as half-baked and half-assed co-operative gameplay. I've even seen evidence of damage control here from a Lionhead employee saying "it's a nice extra". Pardon my french sir, but that's bull-shizzle. Molyneux touted this as a groundbreaking and fantastic way to play the game - and at this point he really, really needs to either be gagged completely, or have somebody translate everything he says into something which isn't over-hyped nonsense.

What's really on show to the gaming world here, however, is the absolute disrespect and disregard Lionhead have for their own fans. Banning somebody for calling you failures, while allowing the posse of moderator brown nosers to hurl abuse at those vocalising their disappointment? Posting pictures of handbags to antagonise disappointed fans?

Completely ignoring the issues raised, such as an awful camera, glitchy gameplay and game-ruining bugs?

I can say with all honesty that Lionhead is not a developer i wish to devote any more of my time to, and this is not a community i want to be a part of. I'll be returning my copy of Fable 2 for Dead Space, and i can say with some certainty that Lionhead will never see a penny of my money again.

If i were a famous rapper, such as fiddy cent or perhaps the game, and a young adoring fan approached me saying "fiddy sir, i'm very disappointed with your new album. You said it would have 12 songs, but really there are only 10. The last two are half-assed tracks of you just playing twinkle twinkle little star on the recorder. You dropped the ball man, i'm a life long fan and i spent my money on this CD. What gives?"

What would i do? I would apologise. I would ask them to calm down. I would tell them i am sorry if i disappointed them, and that maybe we can work up a solution.

It's beyond ridiculous at this point. Looking at it objectively, can you really blame the devs? This was something that was known beforehand, and now all of a sudden people hate them for it? People have barely had the chance to experience the game, yet they throw tantrums about how it's broken?

People (such as myself) have beat the game, and have not rushed it, so saying that hardly anyone has played the game is a huge understatement.

And I have not seen ONE, not ONE single conte response from a MOD aside from the stickies that they have posted on this forum. They joke and mess around on a forum because they have some EPEN to there name.

The bottom line is, Lion Head does not care about the average gamer anymore, but about how much profit they can rake in. Look how sloppy this board is right now, they are a multimillion dollar company who cant afford to employ real working moderators.

They made $$$, PM has created the biggest hoax in gaming for 2008.

Leave the thread alone, that's the best you can do. Do that or lock it.

Also, certain ascepts of the co-op where kept under wraps and none of the threads got answered when questions arised. They completely avoided explaining the system on the forums when post got made about it. I can link you a post a few months back with queries that never got replied. I can link you LOTS of people being under the impression that you would be able to see your friends character. How is selecting a pre-generated hero BASING it off your characters looks? They lied about it one way or another, no matter how you look at it.

"If you go into another persons game as a guest the look of the character will be based off of your character's look.  If you don't have a character of your own you'll have a generic pre-determined look to your hero. "

It CLEARLY says you have two options and you DON'T.  Pre-determined is not basing it off your characters looks and will never mean that.

Mods can joke all they want but certain lines you don't cross. That "joke" was both sexist and disrespectful to the fans, a slap in the face.

I don't care that they are disappointed; you're right in saying it doesn't affect me. What bothers me is the lack of respect they have for the team that created the game. Ignoring whatever problems you have with co-op (and some people don't even have to do that), what have you got? A great game. Why is this co-op thing enough for people to insult all the work they put into it. That's what pisses me off.

Yes, they did lie and It's been proven.

Did they lie about the camera? No, but that's a pretty iffy feature if you ask most of the Fable fans.

Please take this seriously, because I am one of the few people who is openly willing to admit online that I enjoyed Fable (the first one) on other websites, and have consistently defended your games over the years.

Single-player Fable II is fantastic.  The atmosphere, the gameplay, the countless side quests, I love it.

Co-op in Fable II is unplayable.

It is terrible.

I don't care that I can't play my own character.  I actually kind of like the idea of being a henchman in my friend's world, and if I was my unstoppable killing machine I would steal her thunder.  I'm fine with looking like a pre-set character rather than my own developed one.  This is not important to me, and does not affect playability of the much heralded co-op mode.

I don't care about the bugs.  I've read on yours and other forums about people running into bugs when they started playing co-op in the childhood portion of the game.  I waited until right after I had become an adult to try the feature out, so it didn't influence my enjoyment.  While I'm sorry to hear that some have had problems, I imagine that most of us didn't jump straight in, and thus didn't experience this ourselves.

I do care about the camera.  The camera is single-handedly responsible for ruining co-op in this otherwise excellent game.  Both players share a camera.  Why?  What sense does this make?  My range of motion is severely limited by what my partner is doing, and because the camera doesn't swing around when I change the direction my character is looking, and, for some reason that escapes me entirely, I completely lose control over the camera during co-op, I don't have the ability to explore.  See an interesting side cave?  Too bad, I can't explore it because my partner wants to trudge straight ahead.  In Gears of War co-op, which was excellent, I could go do my own thing while my teammate did hers.  It was just like playing the single player game, except there were two of us.  Why, oh why, did you decide to ruin what could have been the best thing about your game?

I don't need to know exactly what my partner is doing at all times.  I don't need to have an eye on the back of her head.  If she has to step out of the room to get a glass of water, I'd like to be able to wander around until she gets back, instead of being stuck within ten feet of wherever she happened to stop.

The co-op camera system makes no sense at all, and honestly, I can't understand how even one person could have thought it was a idea, let alone an entire development team.  Please, please, please, fix this with a patch, and soon.  Many of my friends were very excited about the announced co-op features in this game, and every single one of us, 100%, found it to be completely broken and useless.  You should not have released the feature in this state as it will only serve to raise ill will against the game.

Fable II deserves better than this.  The excellent single player mode deserves a multi-player mode to match.  You are so close.  Fix the camera, that is all I ask.  Leave the henchman system alone, I don't care, just fix the camera.

Yes, they did lie and It's been proven.

Did they lie about the camera? No, but that's a pretty iffy feature if you ask most of the Fable fans.

Not too much, mostly the unprofessional response given by Woody and the lack of support.

I can live with the shoddy co-op but I can understand why some people would be pissed off. My anger comes from the asinine joke made by a supposed developer.

Ah...well, I guess I covered that in one of those long rants earlier on. I guess some are more sensitive than others when it comes to that kind of thing

EDIT: I reread that and it sounds like an insult ; I didn't mean it in an insulting way, I just meant that I'm a girl and didn't find it sexist or offensive. I thought it was actually pretty funny, but then I'm not very angry with the developers either so...
