    Here's a screen of OGAM Land 4. It's only just been started and there's quite a bit more to do for it. This is the last land that I'll will be doing and so the rest will be up to the public.

    Also if I didn't mention this, OGAM Gameplay Video 3 parts 1 & 2 are available for download at the OGAM Forums Downloads Area.

    But that's it for now.

    And of course I have mentioned there also that the DEMO will be pushed back for another month or so, so that I have more time to work on it but to resolve this I am releasing today a pre-DEMO public beta release so you can still get a go at playing it. Remember that as a beta you shouldn't expect everything to work efficiently and perfectly.

    It can be found in the downloads area of the forums via the above link.

    EDIT: One last thing.

    I am releasing a new trailer created by myself and can be found on YouTube to be viewed by all and I know before that trailer 1 was a bust but since I have tried hard to make a G o o d [Good] trailer and hence Trailer 5 is created and it's best trailer that I have ever created.

    KHT: What appears to be the problem with the DEMO. Please detail what the problem is and what you did up to that point.

    Pags7610: I'm not sure where you heard this but we don't have a converter for creatures and stuff and I think it matters at the moment.

    Important News: Regarding the Game

    Two days ago, my pc gain a huge crash and so much that it wiped my harddrive, removing all data and game-stuff for OGAM which means I have to start everything from scratch. However it is lucky that I released the BETA because parts of my work are with it. But only Land 1 is left so I may have to redesign most of the stuff(excl. God AI cause its stored here at Kayssplace) and this I am not too happy about. Therefore the DEMO may be put off for a very long time and so will the final release date.

    The first thing I have to do now is to reinstall and download all the patches for BnW2 and the modding tools and this will take some time. I apologise for this news but it happens.

    In lighter news, once I have everything back up then I am sure that I will be able to improve the performance more with some upgrades to my PC, they are as follows:

    - Intel Core 2 Duo E660
    - 4GB DDR2 667 RAM
    - Ati RADEON HD 2400
    - 500 GB HDD(because the old one is the one that crashed)
    - Windows Vista(64 edition)

    It basicly tells me that I need some sort of program to open the file.

    I don´t know if you need to place the file somewhere specific.

    Sounds like you don't have WinRar, you need it to open the archive of where the game is kept. You can download WinRar by googling it and following the appropriate link.

    I don't know if this would be the best idea but it would be cool after you defeat some random creature you could somehow train it to be your creature or just an extra creature...

    And skeleton warriors sound G o o d [Good] to me for immortal gods/E v i l [Evil] gods.

    Hello. On answer to your questions. No I really don't think it would be a G o o d [Good] idea to have more than one creature, it would mess up the game having to control two creatures and even if we could, the code would not even work, sorry.

    Secondly, I am only a player with a great amount of scripting skills, so I really do believe that multiplayer will not be a feature of OGAM.

    Oh ok... Would be an awesome feature though if you could.

    ....Although i am still interested in the boats and all the nice new features including the new story to the game.

    1 the ship got stuck in the mountains

    2 it took me less than 20 min to complete the game lol

    3 When you spawn the platoon the enemy dosen't attack your platoon and you automaticly win the game. I dont know if its meant to be that way though.

    4 The creature selection took a long time, and I wasn't able to move the creature around at all.

     

    I look forward to see the final versionBig Smile [:D] G o o d [Good] job.

    Oh really, well thanks for playing. When I rebuild the game, I will be sure to fix these bugs.

    These things you mentioned, are some of the most common bugs I have seen(and the most obvious at that). The god ai had some difficult bugs in there that resulted in the god actually stopping all his actions and freezing. This is why that has happened.

    I have been jotting down some notes and possible fixes I could implement for controlling ships and the creature selection, I have also been working with Lionhead's chl file to get some things out of it that I can use in the creature selection and I think I have a fairly G o o d [Good] idea of how to do it now.

    Anyways thanks for trying it out(and actually commenting), this will indeed help towards the production and distribution of the DEMO and look forward to support in the future.

    btw, were the gods hands really pale, if they were then I obviously didn't pass on the change of color for their hands, but you can change it by making a copy of hand_base_d.dds from the hand directory of the ctr folder and change it to t_hand_d_pale.dds(or whatever the name of the original in the data/art/textures folder is) and this will fix that little problem.

    I thought so.

    Do you speak of the god that is in the aztec town or both of them. Because I really don't know why but I am sure to check out the script as I upgrade it again.

    Oh and here's the latest adds to the God AI:

    - Fluid movement now added(altitude and moving to pos)
    - Gods now construct civic buildings(like the storehouse and creature pen)
    - Miracle usage is now upgraded - Gods use all miracles properly and soon will expend mana.
    - Goddess support now added for OGAM main game
    - Gods that are allies can now switch towns and help out the player's other towns
    - Gods gathering trees now resist stealing trees that have town status(i.e. scenic)
    - Support added for creating disciple worshippers

    Stick out tongue [:P] True. The ally god makes a disciple builder and moves him into the storehouse, before its finished.

    I will be sure to release a second beta before the DEMO is release for beta comparison before and after the PC crash and of course for comments.

    Happy new year all, no matter what timezone you are in.

    OGAM is finally back on track, and I am taking every precation to ensure that I do not lose anything again.

    My current stage of progress as of the PC crash, is back to the Creature Selection and this time it is much more responsive and smoother to run, all the creatures use an individual script which saves time(and is user-friendly) and the anims are working like a charm. Smily [:)]

    Excellent. I'm now back where I was before the crash and soon the next land can be started. For the first time so far the next BETA will be a bug-free game.

    All bugs especially those in the God AI have been squished, lol Stick out tongue [:P].

    And so now the time has come for voice acting to begin.

    We need 6 people for assorted gods and 1 person to voice as the star of the game, the goddess. As usual you can apply at the OGAM forums and providing a sample can really help to choose the right people.
