The book "Avo is dead" is a refrence to German Philosopher Friedrich Nietsche who released a book called "God is dead" Up []

I was VERY surprised by that ref..

I got in one little fight and My mom got scared she said "Quit being a *** and fight back..***"

the fairfax castle crest (can be seen on banners and fairfax garden and on the sheets of the regal bed) looks a lot like the master chiefs helmet or the logo for king of the hill in halo

I don't know if anyone has said this or not yet, but "The Summoners" quest reminds me more of the movie, Bruce Campbell vs The Army of Darkness.

In the game its the Normonomicon, in the movie it's the Necronomicon...

In the movie Bruce raises an army of skeletons.. in the game... Hollowmen.. very very similar.

Nah, he calls her 'his child'. I assumed she was a he until I met her too. Wink [;)]

No, he definitely says 'son', I noticed that as well.

Edit:  Also, as someone mentioned Ursula's orphanage in Oakvale,*spoiler* there is a scene where Reaver tells us the last time he used his rear passage was when he was fleeing his house because Ursula found out he was sleeping with someone else, and set the house on fire in his sleep.

Or the other way around, but Ursula was definetely in there. I couldn't help but to connect the two Ursula's.

To be somewhat of an ***, what about people asking for a rez in EQ? (Ever Quest)

    anyways...

the Normonomicon (the book of the extremely dead) actually reminded me of the Egyptian book of the dead.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_the_Dead

I'd never actually heard of the other references until I read this thread.

Since no one else mentioned that here, I thought I would.

Haha, not really. I just didn't play EQ, so I didn't know about it in there. Let's just keep it at hit at MMO's in general then. Wink [;)]

I got 2 not sure if they have been written here before tho...

The guy who stands at the donation can in the temple of light his name is Timonthy lightjoy, an obvious refference to The Simpsons local priest Timonthy Lovejoy (BTW not sure priest first name is Timonthy)

Second. If you look at the flags with a crown on em you might just spot that it actually looks alittle like master chiefs helmet, only if you look closely...

Also a gravestone says "Charles Griffith at 48 years of his age Reavers .48 ended his life"

And "P. Robinson a born survivor" Not really sure what this is for but i guess the Robinson expedition tv show where some people need to survive or sumthing...
    Or Robinson Cruise....

Yes, it's probably a reference to the tv-show, instead of the classic novel by Defoe whereafter the tv-show was named.

    Also, don't triple-post.

Re: Fable 2 Easter Eggs and references

I'm not entirely sure this is a reference/egg but I noticed if you stand still, you will be able to see a bunch of fireflies flying around, much like in The Legend Of Zelda-Ocarina Of Time, if you stood still, fireflies would appear and link together, then once you move they would all disperse. Not sure if they disappear when you move, but they definitely appear when you're still (it takes much longer than it did in OOT).

    The Yellow Fairy

It's a reference to the alcohol Absinthe which is called the Green Fairy.

I also have a feeling the description for Magnificent Tuna "Caught exclusively by wizened old men, this dish tastes of epic struggle. Delicious, delicious struggle" is a reference to the book "The Old man and the Sea"

Just heard one that made me giggle:

A ***** in Bloodstone said "Fancy a bit of role play?"
Only reason it made me giggle was the fact that Fable is a role playing game.

I don't think that anyones said these befor. 2 LOTR references

    1) The Banshees look and sound like the ring wrathes in the movie

    2) One of the prizes for winning the pub games is a mysterious ring which in the explanation sounds a lot like the ring in LOTR

Chicken Suit Outfit description "Would you chase me? I'd chase me. I'd chase me hard." is a massive reference to Silence of the Lambs. Nearly died of laughter when I read that! XD

If you do the G o o d [Good] thing in the Cementary Mansion quest, and stick around for the follow up dialog, you'll hear the Hollow man leader talk about some dance, the dialog spans a little over a minutes, but you can tell that the "Dance of Ur'Cyrandorandorander" (the NPC couldn't even pronounce it lol) you can tell that its really refering to the Hoky Poky! Crazy []
