Soo.. looks like PM is making five fable games now.
Is it just me or is that the EXACT same number as BnW had? When they come up with a new game after Fable 2, will they abandon the next three games like they did BnW?
I *** about things. I really, really do!

I'd much rather see a new current gen BW3 in the works, perhaps even for console (blasphemy?--maybe...)
yes, fable two looks cool, but not as cool as what a new bw could be...
or you could be awesome and table both ideas and do Dimitri
or better yet, re-energize and get back to work on B.C.
just my thoughts, which count for....goose egg

Oh, and for the record, I've been very helpful in many of the different areas on the forums. Off Topic, here, BnW2, TMO (even though my knowledge is limited), Fable 2, Fable 2 fanfic, Fable TLC, Support, Images etc etc..

Yeah, personally I'd prefer if Lionhead stuck with their new approach to making games. Have two projects going at once, but only let us know about one of them when the features were relatively decided. That way we would be like "Sweet, a Lionhead game that's coming along nicely!" and then a couple weeks before that game came out they'd be like "Oh yeah, by the way we're almost finished with this other totally awesome game we never even told you about!"
3 would have to go a lot back to the roots of the series, more of being a god and less of just building cities or making armies. Having more of a back and forth battle between smaller settlements would be cool. Old school impressiveness would be sweet to bring back too. I always wanted building interiors too, not just being able to watch people wandering the streets or working at buldings but to mouse over a building and have it cut away, showing you exactly what the people were doing inside.
Multiplayer is definately a must. Having more options for gametypes would be cool, objective based army, building, impressing, etc. games. I would also like to see dedicated servers (a user-made one would be better than Lionhead servers) that could be set up for matches or persistent worlds for people who liked playing together. Matches could be competitive or peaceful, allowing the world to keep going even after you've logged out of the game.
We can't cure the world of sorrows, but we can choose to live our lives in happiness.

you've said a lot of things there, and some of it seemed to contradict other things you said lol.
let me see. I agree with the "don't announce new games right away" because it doesn't get people excited about features that don't actually make the game. the downside to this though is that it may give the impression that there are no new ideas floating around the company. Of course, we all are well acquainted with lionhead talking about features as if they are in the game that are in no way finalized...
As for the plot of bw3, I wouldn't expect them to go back to the old school small settlement scenario. The whole purpose of black and white is that it is a progression over time (not to be confused with Spore, heh). As for old school impressiveness, i guess im not entirely certain on what you're referring to. I guess i'd be equally impressed if i saw a floating hand uproot a forest and immediately convert it into lumber or if i saw an 80 story Creature walk through my town and cast a flock of HUGE doves over the heads of all the townsfolk, lol. But maybe that's just me. And looking inside buildings would be neat, but i'd rather have them spend time on better AI or better graphics or soommmmeeething because how practical is looking inside (other than that it immerses you into thinking you are really omnipotent). But if it didn't take much time then heck yes put it in.
And for your ideas about multiplayer, it's hard to tell whether you mean that you want the game to never stop if you go offline, like an MMO. or that you want to be able to save the status of your online world if you wanted to quit but come back to it. I don't think we're going to see MMO style BnW games, but i still agree that it is absolutely essential that the BnW series have multiplayer. The LH community took a big crash with the backlash against bw2 when you played and were like "well...that was...fun but i can't do the things i did in bw1". it was a like two steps forward, one step back.

I'm thinking of it being more about the people and how impressed they are with you, as a god. I mean the settlements would be more advanced, more complex interactions, but the basis of your existence in the world should always be how you influence the people and how moved they are by that influence.
Yeah seeing the tree magically cut itself into perfectly formed planks of building wood would blow your mind, an eighty foot tiger walking through the fields would be terrifying or awesome, doves appearing from nowhere and disappearing just as suddenly would be amazing, but after long enough of seeing something we are less impressed by it. Just think of what a person who'd never seen a light bulb before, much less a complex video game, would think of modern games. They'd be amazed by it, entranced by it, but eventually they'd just accept it as commonplace.
The game should focus more on the people, their interactions with each other, and how your actions as a god would affect them. Seeing a family sitting down for dinner, not praying to you before eating, and then ripping the father through a wall and tossing him in a nearby lake would cause a much different ripple through the people, as word of your actions spread, than if you were to cause a sudden downpour or nearby lightning strikes. You'd still have to build cities and keep your people happy, but I think it should be more about winning hearts and minds through whatever tactics you choose to employ.
For multiplayer I think either. Like an MMO but on a very limited scale, and hosted by the players as to avoid any monthly fees. You could save a game state and come back to it another day, allowing both players to pick up right where they left off. It would also be interesting to just let things keep going. To log out of the game for a couple days and come back to find the people had done things on their own. Buildings had been upgraded, new technologies researched, maybe even new forests or fields planted. To allow the people to do their own thing even without your input, obviously being able to go back and change things they did that displeased you - building layout, road paths (although if they only build roads along the paths that people naturally travelled that shouldn't be too serious) etc. would be really fun to see.
You could even have more fast paced games that focused less (or not at all) on the building and micromanaging aspects and more on the combat and taking over of other settlements. And I hope they bring back the old creature fighting system. I just miss that too much.![Disappointed [:isappoin]](/emoticons/disappointed.gif)
