Please help with the SUMMON spell--------

Hey all, I'm getting tired of the lighting spell, so am trying new ones. I got full summon powers and finally got a balverine as my summon creature. If it kills something of weaker power, say a bandit, will my summon creature go back to a bandit?? Thanks. Booty

The summon will only change to a more powerful Creature, so it wont go back down to anything under a balverine. The Highest summon is a Dreadwing summoner, check the secrets thread at the top of the page to find out how to get one Wink [;)] And try all the spells, they're all great Wink [;)]

Well, it should only change to something more powerful than it, but I once had my Blaverine summon tur itself into undead. But when I was fighting Jack of Blades, he must have killed a Minion Sorceror (the one with the staff) because I soon had one of them following me.

Now my bandit killed a balverine and it didn't change. I think I see a glitch in the game here

Re: Please help with the SUMMON spell--------

Depending on the bandit, it could actually be more powerful than the balverine. Try killing a white one, see if that works.

Foose, there is no problem with your version of The Lost Chapters. Wink [;)] The reason your summon has not changed is because certain creatures are not summonable, and therefore your bandit did not change. If you try to have your bandit kill a Rock or Earth Troll, it will not change, because trolls are not summonable. This goes the same for summoners. Wink [;)] So fear not, your version does not have a bug in it, it is just some creatures are not summonable, and therefore will not change when your current summon has killed a certain creature. Wink [;)]

Re: Please help with the SUMMON spell--------

Hmm, somethings afoot. Your summon shouldn't be doing that. Maybe try something else. Tired of lightning? Try Battle Charge its awesome!! Or if you still want to 'hurl' stuff the Fireball is awesome... Wait, this could take a while, just try the other spells out.

[edit] read it wrong Rolleyes [] And the reason for your Balverine going to a bandit was probaberly it was one of the fat bandit which are better than a balvernie.

Re: Huge Issue with the Summon Spell

Summoners have a summon rank of -100. Ie You can't summon them. Edit: Not that you can't change that. game.bin->CREATURE->CREATURE_WHATEVER->CSummonableDef Lots of creatures are pointed at the -100 rank. So if you change it you change it for all of them.

Meaning that, if you were to make it to the point where it would be summonable, then every creature would be summonable. Happy [:)]

That wouldn't be in your best interest. If you kill a Troll it uses the curled up 'Hidden' version instead of the standing version and then your screwed. Ideally you'd just use Fable Explorer to add new CSummonableDefs for each Creature you want to allow. Including the Walking Troll. Instead of just changing the one their all pointed at. Happy [:)]

Indeed, but it would appear to be a bit odd looking in my opinion. Perhaps something that fits, like the summoners. Happy [:)]

Re: Please help with the SUMMON spell--------

I don't really have a problem with not being able to get those creatures as a summon. They're too powerfull and would make the game too easy. And yes Keshire, I know that can be changed as well, I got the difficulty mod from fabletlcmod Wink [;)] Besides I prefer to kill all the enemies myself then have my summon do it.

First of all, no hacks, trainers or any other manipulations of that kind. 9th Hero, however, if that matters. Yes, i do have used Hero saves. (PC, safe mode, wandering without strictly following the storyline)
Well, i do not know if it's a Summoner, i haven't found a catalogue of all  TLC creatures yet. It's an Unedad and replaced my Bandit at the Lady Grey's House. A sword in the right hand and an axe in the left.
That's not all the story altogether. The Summoner (let's call it so) summons!
However, even that is not the end of the tale. It summons enemies! His minions are red to me! Just five minutes ago i fought a Troll (Greatwood Caves region) and afterwards had to finish about a half of dozen of minions. The Summoner was very helpfull - spawned few more on top while i was crushing those created while i was busy with the Troll ...
Do i have to guess that something is wrong with my game?

Re: Huge Issue with the Summon Spell

What you have there is not a Summoner.
It's simply an Undead General, he summons smaller warriors.
It's normal and there's nothing wrong with your game.

I take it you found this old thread using the search function of the forum.
Now thanks for using that but this thread has been dead for about a year.
Though your reason for necro-bumping is fairly valid.
But in the future you might want to consides just making a new thread.
