Anyone? anyone here got any idea at all? I thought it may be early in development considering all they showed was a video, but thats what most titles in microsoft's conference did even though some are getting released only around the corner. I always said that Lionhead were working on Fable 2 since they finished most of the original, if i'm right that would mean it could have been in development for about 2 - 3 years, Oblivion showed us that a game of fable 2's scale could take 4yrs to complete. I am encouraged that Molyneux said that they are no longer going to announce games early in development, could this mean its late in development? I predict it will be out for quarter 4 2007, although i'm praying that out of the blue they say 2006, but i think that would be me dreaming too much. What do you guys think?

I have been thinking about this too. It's either going to be 'soon' or 'distant' not in between, it's so hard to fathom now that LH have changed their development strategy :S

The best things come to those who wait. They can take their time and make sure it's perfect, unlike the rushed job Obsidian made of KOTOR 2 with the worst ending in RPG history.

Id say this christmas. It would be the ultimate PS3 launch killer! But realistically itll be next year instead. oh well, back to lost chapters.

E3 is supposed to have more on FABLE 2 so im watching 24/7, but Ide say it all depends on how long theyve been working on it. Seeing as Sam said its been a hard secret to keep for a while Ide say theyve been working on since atleast the end of B&W 2... give or take. SO they will probably say early 2007 or this christams...

i'm hoping that it will come out quicker than expected, thanks to now being part of Microsoft studios Lionhead would have much more resources and manpower behind this game than the original had. And seeing as Fable like halo is one of the xbox's main franchises i'm sure Microsoft would throw as much money and resources at the game to get it completed as soon as possible.

As a guiness drinker, I truly understand the meaning of the phrase ' patience is a virtue', I'd much sooner LH took their time and produced a truly epic game, rather than rushing it out just to compete with sony. I'm sure they'll want to avoid having to make a 'Fable2 the even loster chapters' 2 years down the line.

Thats great if it would be because then we would mass murder PS3 sales. We would then have Halo 3 and Fable 2 to give those gits over at sony a kick up the toucus.

Couldn't agree more. I'd rather they take their time making it the game we want. Look at Fable 1, it was still Very good, but not as good as i'd been led to believe

The thing I'm hoping on is that Micrososft makes it a lunch [edit: my fault, add the missing yourself ] title for Windows Vista. Not to say that I'm still looking forward to the new Windows as a connection of the X360 and a PC. Probably all XBox games become playable on the PC (if the PC is trong enough) which would be great. Microsoft already announced that XBOX Live will be playable from both sides the console and the PC. Even though I admit the time would be very short for the release and it shouldn't of cause be rushed out.

I kinda hop they take their time with making this one. Though we don't know how long it's been in development. Still I'd rather have it properly and working fine instead of having it as soon as possible.

Fable was made by another department... if my memory serves ... So they've probably been working on it since about a month after Fable TLC was done... give or take.

good point, I was thinking along the lines of space in LH studios to make it, and letting the FABLE team rest for a bit. Also it allows them to hire on some B&W2 graphic artists.

As a general rule of thumb, add 2 years to the stated release date and that should give you a rough underestimate of when it should be coming out.

There's going to be a lot of this... I'm actually going to sticky this thread, at least for the time being, just so we don't get repeats.

As Markbond said, it will be done when it's ready. I have my suspicions as to when it will come out, but I think it will probably end up coming out much later than we think (or at least much later than we'd would like).

You know that it's not going to work, Crosbie. Stickying this thread is just a vain attempt to combat the swarm of date-related questions that shall be made manifest as the game's profile increases. The hordes of the dark do not read the stickys before they ask their inane questions. But on the date, it's bound not to be for a few years at least. Unless they've been secretly working on it in underground lairs since the days of Project Ego... Hordes of programmers in dark rooms chained to computers being fed Braino™ and forced to work on builds of the game, with electrodes wired to their pleasure centres so they never stop... Or maybe we have to wait till Christmas 2007. Which is my entry into the pool, btw.
