Hmm I had a quick look on the Amazon uk site which is mentioning october 06 as a purportedly possibly release date. So hopefully this indicates that it's nearer completion than we feared, going by the trailer I'd say it looks good at least graphically.

That would be awsome if it were October 6th. That just means that I dont have to buy it, as my Birthday is on the 20th . But then I have to worry about buying the XBox 360. Better start to save.

maybe they'll release it on both, as i said they will probably mak more money realeasing it on PC too cos most people dont rush out, buy an expensive console JUST to play one game

Will it at least be longer than Fable the lost chapters? Cause i finished that in 6 hours with all the side quests done (except for the ones at the begginin) And the original fable took me 4 hours talk about short story ya know? Im just sayin hopefully Fable 2 will be much longer than the other ones.

ok ppl i got a couple of questions how long was the first fable in development and how long do next gen games take in comparison to last gen ones? with that its safe to assume that fable 2 has been in development for about 2 years now

yea fable 2 has been in development for 2 years or more now.. it will prob be out spring 2007..hopefully not winter..

I think that it really depends on how long Lionhead want to spend on Fable 2, they could take as many years as they want, though it's unlikely they would be allowed to now they are part of Microsoft. I don't think that Summer 2007 would be unlikely, if Peter Molyneux is to be trusted then his E3 interview tells us a lot. He siad that it's no where near ready to be demoed, no one expected that anyway, but he did say that he is trying not to start talking about games until they are well in development. But 'well in development' could mean many things, let's just hope that the team have a lot going for them, manpower, resources, so they can make a lot of headway with Fable 2. I think someone mentioned before that Lionhead probably don't want to release a Lost Chapters for Fable 2 so I presume they will release Fable 2 when they think it's completely ready.

That's what we're speculating about ...

Well if you go by past Lionhead releases they seem to really try to get their releases out around the holiday season, and I believe that to be true as well for Microsoft and their big releases (Halo). So my expectation is not this year, definitely, but next, at earliest. About the 4 year thing, Lionhead has said that the original Fable was 15% the size of the game they wanted, and that TLC is "30-33%" bigger (in total, 8.88% the size of project Ego) . So, very loosely, I'm going to say that it's definitely not this year. Even with MS money being directly now behind to help push.

just a quick comment about MethadonePretty's point about Lionhead not wanting to release a Lost Chapters expansion again: What about the live marketplace? Although i have zero interest in paying £2.50 for pony protection(in fact, i have no interest in using a 360 online at all.), i'd probably shell out for a connection and some extra fable quests.

You guys are SO unrealistic... The game can't possibly come out this year... In my history of waiting for next-gen games, I have ALWAYS been extremely dissapointed. If not only because I'm waiting for it, the game WILL most likely be delayed and I highly doubt it coming out sooner than a year from now... Take it from me... DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH!

I actually hope they don't bring it out this year. I want them to take their time and makesure the game is stable and mostly bug-free.

I second that opinion. Bringing a game this good would be terrible this year, with all the new hyped game (Oblivion, GOW, Halo3, Saints Row, Too Human, etc.) It wouldn't be successful, although - I hope they don't delay it for to long.

Pffft. >.>' I got my copy of Fable 2 yesterday..... Granted, it's a stick person swinging a stick at pac-man like monsters but....Pfffft....It's still Fable 2. Nah, seriously....I wouldn't be surprise if Fable 2 is going to be released by the end of this year, or the end of next year. Or if Lionhead tries to, "get it right" this time (not saying Fable was bad) but there's the major press for Fable 2 to fulfill the epic promises of Fable...I wouldn't be surprise if that added another year to the end of my span I noted a paragraph ago. I also wouldn't be surprised if an announcement came out today that Fable 2 will be out by Monday and they kept things under wraps so well so as not to be held to promises. >.>' We're dealing with a wildcard of a company this go-'round.

Well, i was GUNNA read all 6 pages, but i thought i was atleast on the 5th by the time i finished the 2nd :P i think im only going to stop by on the LH website to check for news until the game actually comes out (thats when the modders get to start playing ) It's just gets better and better from there. If this game is as GREAT as we all hope it'll be, it'll most likely come out near the end of 2007. Don't get me wrong, I want it to comeout this CHRISTMAS, I've bought the 360 and HD TV for it and all, only for this damn game.

Next-gen games take 4-5 years to make
