I've also recently got Lego indiana jones, always hated puzzles but I loves this game, the puzzles are nice and simple I might get lego batman after I finish it. IHermit

If you're a Star Wars fan I'd go with Lego Star Wars over Lego Batman.  Much funnier game in my opinion. Smily [:)]

Ah, if you're a big fan then you should surely get Lego Star Wars over Lego Batman.

If you're looking for a copy on the Xbox they have a complete series edition which has all 6 movies compiled into one game.  Not sure if they have the same deal for the PC though.  But they're really quite funny.  As much as I liked Lego Indiana Jones I still think you can't beat the one that started it all, Lego Star Wars. ^^ [^^]

I offer you my condolences! Worst game since years. Sleeping [:zleeping:]

Still playing Dawn of War 2 and recently came back to X3 - Terran Conflict because of the new patch to version 2.0 which added so much new features, missions, ships and equipment that it basically became a new game. Egosoft are the best, that is how you should treat your customers I tell you. Cheeky [:cheeky:]

If you have not played X3 and you are interested in space trading/fighting/rpg/strategy mixes like Privateer or Elite, I suggest looking for the Gold version of the game which included V2.0. I also heard the game is now availbale for the American market through a new publisher and Steam. This is no advertising! Hmm [^o)]

How's that play without a joystick, just out of interest. Or to look at that from another angle, is it any G o o d [Good] with a JoyPad?

    Godfather 2 or X3?

Godfather 2 is awful because they totally ruined the mouse input, not talking about keyboard ... it's "playable" but in "Don-view" you want to use the mouse because it would be faster, but ... Sleeping [:zleeping:]

X3 can be controled via all kinds of input and is highly customizeable. It took me an hour or so to alter it how I like it. 100000 input commands and shortcuts cry for using keyboard input, although they have also implemented mouse menus, but they are a bit slow if you know the shortcut. Wink [;)] I mostly use the joypad (fights) or mouse (in turrets). Actually the flight can be controlled by keyboard (for movement) without problems and aiming with mouse, easy if are used to it. Wink [;)] I alos use XPadder, to map some keyboard commands to the gamepad and also because the game otherwise does not recongise the right analogue stick on the XBox360 controller.

X3 needs a lot of practice to get you anywhere in the game. You also need to more or less make your own adventure in a huge galaxy. It takes about 25 hours I would say to get a small working industry combine up running (not that you would have to do so, you could also make money as free trade, pirate or mercenary). This generates money or equipment for you to do the main story quests. I think you could build up a devastating fleet of capital ships in about 100 hours game time which could control and wage war upon the other aliens. I certainly would not recommend this game to anyone low on time and patience. Maybe one should try the demo first!

Was on about X3. Absolutely no interest in playing Godfather II - I even though the film was a dreary waste of several hoursWink [;)]

I was just thinking about whether flight could be controlled with a joypad - obviously a game like that has squillions of commands and needs a keyboard at some point. I played X2 as it happens - I just rememebr having difficulty getting it working with joypads.

No problem with making my own entertainment in games though - positively thrive on it mate.Wink [;)]

You looked the whole Godfather 2 film. Surprise [:O] If I have problems falling asleep one day I may watch it again. Never was I faster in the land of dreams. Wink [;)]

If you played X2, I think the controls have not changed much, except for the mouse menus, but on X2 I had to use keypadder and with X3 I have to use it too. Altough I have only rolling mapped to the triggers and the right analogue stick configured as maneuvering engine control. In X2 I had all keyboard commands mapped because the gamepad was not recognised at all.

    Re: What are you playing?

I've just started playing Godfather 2, I didnt pay for it my brother did (I would never willingly give up money for a game like this), Gamespot gave it a bad review, but I guess they didnt get Bribed enough for a G o o d [Good] review, The game is actually suprisingly G o o d [Good], the graphics are'nt amazing but there not bad either. The gameplay as some parts that are pritty much Ctrl+C + Ctrl+V of the old game but there are some new interesting elements to this game that add just that bit of depth like hiring made men and upgrading them. It's alittle easy but its fun, and thats what counts in a game Smily [:)].

Surprisingly G o o d [Good] ? It is even worse than the first... Actually much worse than the first. G o o d [Good] god i didnt pay for this crap, it's so unpolished it is amazing and the management part could have been G o o d [Good] but when you realize there is no depth to it at all it also takes the entertainment out of that.

Gta 4, Saints Row 2 and even Mafia i would rather replay again.

    Score : avoid. Huh? [:^)]

On another note i wonder how many monkeys in the ea marketing office that came up wíth this idea for Godfather 2.

    Re: What are you playing?

Yeah but given that I didnt pay for it and the reviews pritty much said this game should be burnt, I found it suprisingly G o o d [Good].

If I had payed actual money for this game, well my opinion on it would be much, much different.

At least it was better then the lost game, that was terrible. Graphics bad, Voice acting bad, controls bad. Dont buy it.

On another note, I also lent Def Jam Icon off of my cusin other day out of pure bordem. The game isnt bad, but it isnt brilliant, The graphics are G o o d [Good] though and the people who created the move's list have a suprising amount of knowledge on martial arts, I picked Muay Fly (Muay Thai) and some of the moves done were pritty reconisable if not overdone lol, The controls them selves how ever were alittle clunky, they tried too hard to make it feel like Fight Night Round 3 but this isnt the kind of game for these kind of controls so it just didnt feel right. The style and the story was also a let down, They tried to be too realistic with it, the other games were actually fun with the wacky story line and the very over the top but brutal moves, this game didnt really have that and it takes the charm out of the game. Also they tryed to add a managment mode to the game but it didnt work out, mainly becuase nothing you do really effects you in the game, maybe you get alittle more money but theres nothing much you can do with all that money.

    Re: What are you playing?

This is the way Godfather 2 looks 200. Nice explosions one has to admit though.

This is how Godfather looked 2006.

This is how Mafia looked 2002.

And finally, this is the way a game should look 2009. Cheeky [:cheeky:]

Of course you can not judge how a game turns out from its screenshots, but Mafia 2 is one of my last hopes for gaming this year because it seems you can ruin anything nowadays.

Worst thing for the Godfather 2 is that everything looks so sterile, empty and lifeless. Look how GTA4 set up the scale for a believable open world simulation.

The gameplay of Godfather 2 is the same than on the first which was indeed not bad, but very repetitive. The game mechanics and the general feeling of the game is bullshit to nowadays standards and even more so to long ago standards from the better years of gaming. Wink [;)]

    Re: What are you playing?

I have to admit Mafia 2 does look G o o d [Good], not really that hyped up about it though so if it turns out a flop then I'm not too upset. Heard the original was G o o d [Good] too but I never really got the chance to play it.

I dont get why you set it up in that order though, shouldnt have you like put mafia first then godfather then godfather 2 and finaly Mafia 2 for comparison??.

Like I said though I concider Godfather 2 a G o o d [Good] game becuase I didnt pay for it, that can sometimes redeem fualts in games for me if I didnt pay much or anythink for it, if I'd have payed the full retail price, I would have been pritty damb pissed off.

But will some games even getting them for free cannot redeen them <Cougth> Lost <Cougth>.

There is actually no particular order in this comparison. Wink [;)] It is listed in appearance I searched and found the screenshot links. I was at EA first and found Godfather 2, then Godfather, then I switched to Mafia homepage ... see no order ...

I usually don't care that much about graphics, but Godfather is simply outdated and on top of it the gameplay is ruined by the input controls and the lifeless cities. Even Fallout 3 had more crowded places in its post-apocalyptic world. Wink [;)] The strategy component with the Don-View is superfluous, shallow and does not really work.

I am playing Civilization 4 right now.

    Re: What are you playing?

Just thought I'd jump in with my thoughts on Godfather.

I've actually been enjoying The Godfather II much more than I had thought I would, which I guess is a G o o d [Good] thing. Indifferent [:|]
I don't want to get involved on the ins and outs of what I'm enjoying and what I'm not, mainly because I can't be bothered. But I'd say it was well worth paying the full retail price if you enjoyed the previous game and Mafia because it's basically more of the same and a little bit more. I haven't tried the multiplayer yet, I'm not sure I like the idea of it. But I might jump in and give it a go just to gain some new weapon licenses for a couple of my made men.

Now that's out of the way, I've only just got around to buying Fallout 3 and the DLC. So I'll have to start that soon, maybe tomorrow actually.

    That'll do for now.

Civilization 4 is an excelent game, its one of those games were you lose track on time when you play it.

Well I was walking up from college yesterday after noon and I had a quick look into Gamestion, out of curiousity I went to the original xbox area, and I found Jade Empire for £2.99, I had about £4.29 from my dinner money left so I thought I'd take that home lol, Ive seen it on the XBL market place so I knew it would work on the 360, also on XBL the game costs 1200 MS points which is around a tenner in real money and it also takes up about 6.9 GB so I saved alot of memory and about £7.01.

Ive played the game before and I though it was brilliant, G o o d [Good] story,  cool action for this type of game, questionable voice acting and Kung Fu what more could you want in a game.

Since you asked, a less predictable plot and an 80% reduction in trekking back and forth through the same limited areas as an artificial means of making the game feel bigger and longer than it is.

    Re: What are you playing?

True the plot is alittle predictable but the story is still G o o d [Good] IMO, the back tracking is annoying as hell and can make it boring but for £2:99 its not too bad Smily [:)].

Any ways at the moment I'm playing the UFC 2009: Undisputed Demo and the Red Faction Gurilla demo.

Red Faction Gurilla: From the demo the game seems like it will have some G o o d [Good] ideas, pritty much every think can be brocken and its pritty fun blowing *** up but eventually the novelty wears off and you can see the games fualts. They give you satchel charges but only allow you to use 4 at a time which breaks down the fun a little I would have enjoyed the abillity to sneak into the ennemy base and stealthy plant my 24 satchel charges at key points in the builings and vehicals and gas tanks ect.. then sneak out without any one noticing to climb to a high point far far away and set them off, then I could watch as the whole base just goes up with a smile on my face, but that carnt happen becuase they only give you 4 which means you give away your precence blowing one building up so the place is now defended to the nines. Also the guns do no damage at all unless you use the melle attack, since when did the but off the gun become more powerfull then Bullets??.

Any way the mission I was supposed to do was 10 minuits long and I spent that full 10 mins blowing *** up, then after about 1 hours worth of blowing things up I got bored and did the mission.

Any way my verdict so far: G o o d [Good] ideas let down by bd design choices and weak weapons

    6 out of 10.

    UFC 2009: undisputed

Okay from the demo the impression of this game is pritty G o o d [Good] to me, you get a Tutorial mode that will probably be needed becuase the control are alittle complicated at first, and you get a exibition mode with 2 fighters to chose from, 1 being Chuck liddel a Kemp Kickboxer / Wrestler and 2 the guy I was mostly playing Mauricio Rua who uses Muay Thai and Brazilian Jui Jitsu.

The combat in this game looks extremely realistic, when the Mauricio was throwing a kick he rised up on his front foot and pivoted while throwing the the back foot and aiming to hit with the shin exactly like its done in real life, I assume that the used mokap to create the moves list from how accurate the moves look. The damage system is pritty cool too, repetetive kicking to the leg with result in it going red and bruised and it eventually gets to a point were kicking that part of the leg with drop them to the floor. the combat is also set out so that it would be difficult to win by meere button mashing, your fighter tires easily if he just fires blows constanlty leading him to throw very weak blows and slow blows along  with his deffence being weakend meaning if your opponent landed a G o o d [Good] strong hit then there would be a G o o d [Good] change in a Knock out. Also if people are constatly throwing blows it will be easy to perform a take down meaning your opponent will be on the floor with you in dominat position so you could perform a submission or just batter the *** out of him with ground and pound.

Becuase of the physics engine put in the game it is also possible to knock out the opponent in a single hit too, this all goes on how the hit is throw and on what possition you opponent is in, for example on the 6 go on exibition mode chuck liddel charge straight at me right at the beggining of the first round, I performed a flying knee attack to him, this knocked him out instantly, mainly becuase he ran straight into the attack, he was running so he didnt brace for it or deffend it.

There are some issues though, some of the annimation may need tweaking a little nothing major, the commentary can get repetetive and becuase YUKES were in the development it looks like they brought some unwanted guests with them, mainly the sound track taken straight from the smackdown versus raw series, which is mainly metal and screamo, which isnt my kind of music so I have to either turn of the sound or put a custome song on while navigating the menu's.

Overall the game looks pritty damb G o o d [Good], a few problems here and there but other then that smaching.

9 out of 10 becuase no game is perfect Smily [:)].

Sorry if theres any serious spelling mistakes not only do I have bad grammer, my keyboard is playing up lol.

Planning to start working my way through the RPGs on the 360's Megadrive/Genesis collection at some point soon. I never did finish Phantasy Star II the first time round.

Might go back into Street Fighter 4 and try out the new Championship Mode they've added as a free download today.

I'm mostly waiting for something new with a bit of meat on it to come out. It's been a bit bare so far this year hasn't it?

It has been quite a poor start Glen, the only big game releases from this year that spring to my mind are Resident E v i l [Evil] 5, Street Fighter IV and Killzone 2 and they're all sequels, so it's nothing really new to dig into either. Dead [:notalive:]

Well there is rarely that many G o o d [Good] titles released early on, last year by this time we also only had like gta 4 and mgs4 didnt we ?

Anyway there is lots of games to look foward to, looks like this will be the best in many years.
