Yes, that is the size your overlays should be when you put them in-game, but I advise you to make your overlays at 912x512 pixels, then when you are done, resize it to 512x512 pixels and save it as a .dds and then put it in game. Why? Because how your overlay looks at 912x512 pixels is how it will appear in game.

Sadly, I don't think there is a DDS plug-in for the Mac or a DDS converter.

However, I managed to find this program here which suppposedly should be able to save files as .dds.

Well, that should work.

Just save it in PC format then send the files to your own e-mail and then open the e-mail on your PC and viola.
