I just thought it was me being stupid.

I kept thinking I had lost my mind because I thought I was clicking 'Forum' and I was going to 'Home'.

Man I love being stupid. Classic [:classic:]

Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

If you go to an active topic from the list that has more than one page, then change pages, you can navigate from the links at the top of the page. Though, if you're here reading this ingenius solution you've already seen Woody's links higher up the page... Redundant post FTW! I'll make that top 10 yet :)

Incidently, does Woody's badge array make anyone else hungry for a mustard-covered hotdog? Is he subliminally trying to make us all hunger for a Dev Sandwhich so him and Gradius can jump the Beta Testers without the worries of drawn out court proceedings?

Re: Multiple posts, I can't even deliberately do them. I've tried, I get an error saying I'm not allowed to post twice. So PM-bomb anyone who does it.....

    The Forums are too bright
    Annoying to navigate
the excess space on these boards would make even a neoconservative nazi wince
the rep is all off :p ( I swear I was just over 200)
the contibution ammount confuses me... its like praising spam
The forums have a bare, dry feeling to them
There arent any buttons, an useful liks have strange pictures in them (remove that)

And I have already lost a post that took 30 minutes to make due to an error...Angry [:@] Angry [:@] Confused [8-)]

It is moving much faster today than last night. It seems pretty easy to use. I can't figure out how to send a private message to someone. Do I have to look up the member first? And I can't figure out how to put my avator back on. Other than that, it seems fine to me.

I really preferred the old forums. It was much easier to use and it was more fun. This looks like a "Big Corp Corporation Incorporated" forum. And...Angry [:@]WHY AM I A MEMBER?!Angry [:@] I was a senior member last time. now I'm back at the mercy of others..

Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

Alright, here are my thoughts: Yes, the site is a lot more slicker and fancier. I have to give you props on that, and I really can tell that a lot of work went into this. However, it seems a lot more complex and not as simple to navigate. It took me about ten minutes to find out how to reply to a message, and it just seems to have lost its overall simplicity. The rep and post count seems a bit off as well, and I'm sort of wondering why a lot of members seem to have been demoted in rank...the contribution system that's been set off seems like a popularity contest...truthfully, I feel like its just a way to replace reputation...yet, I was perfectly fine with keeping the rep system in the first place. All in all, I do applaud Lionhead on its stellar job on redesigning the site, but I really don't like the new page. It just seems like an unneccessary upgrade that really is much harder to use and understand. I did notice the addition of some new tools...they might be interesting to try out, but nevertheless, I really do miss the old site...it was much easier to navigate and get a feel of...not to mention this whole contribution system doesn't sit well with me at all.

I wouldn't count on any fixes for Opera, we "have to" recommend IE7 but everything should work in FF.

That's bad news. :( So I can only hope on Opera 10 where they promised to add various Java script improvements.

Everyone should boycott Ubisoft and their new Online DRM for PC games. This has gone too far in the reduction of the rights of users and I am sick of it! It is not made to fight piracy, but to control the customer.

I'm not too keen that you can't change the contents of a quote section when you quote someone (well, I just got told off by the software for trying, anyway - said something like the quote and the post didn't match). Not because I want to demonically twist and pervert people's words, but more because this means we're going to end up with rows and rows of nested quotes in some posts...

What, it works fine? I just left out the part between parentheses and misspelled 'pervert'. Stick out tongue [:P]

Yup. And nestled quotes are indeed avoidable.

I like that little voting thing actually. It's attractive, kinda hot.

So now I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but the Title of the Black & White 2 Forums is "..Black & White 2..". I don't think HTML code is nessesary in the Title.

Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

Well to be perfectly honest... I extremely dislike the new site. Its way to complicated and the old was was way more user friendly. I also have noticed that alot of new things were added, but alot of things were taken away. I didn't like this as well. Anyway I understand the Lionhead team worked hard for a long time but still, I don't like it.

I VOTE TO BRING BACK THE OLD FORUMS!

I have to agree with you there, i miss the old forums, so much easier.

Also why am I senior member now? I was Happy Senoior Member before. I could understand if you raised the post count a bit but i was close to 1000 post power, how the hell does that make any sense.

I have to say that the site actually hurts my eyes. The font to the thread titles are WAY too big and I think overall, it's a cluttered mess.

Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

I miss the B&W2 Fan Fiction section.

It seems like things are a little buggy right now, and I imagine those will be ironed out in time, but overall I think the layout is way too cluttered and confusing. I miss the old "post reply" button, instead of only being able to reply to individual posts. (unless that is there somewhere and I'm just blind, which is entirely possible) Things seems slower in general, the post preview for example.

It's interesting to be able to use your windows id whatnot but I can't seem to stay logged in like I used to. I hadn't put in my username and password to post for over a year, and now I have to do it every time I want to post something.

Overall I'll have to say I don't like it. I didn't like the old new forum when it switched to that from the horrid old blue and orange one, but I got used to, and even grew to love, it in time. Perhaps the same will happen with these. At the moment, though, I'm not diggin' it.

    And...Angry [:@]WHY AM I A MEMBER?!Angry [:@]

A question I have been asking about a number of people over the last few days. Look guys, LH was brought (spelling?!) by microsoft, if they hadn't been then LH would probably be no more, and instead of this lovely new home we wouldn't have anything.

The least you can look at it is a compromise, and if you still don't like it then really what are you doing here if all you can do is complain.

We aren't ever going to get the old forums back! Simply because the old forums were based on technology that was not microsofts. So you can cry about it all you want and moan and ***, but it really isn't going to happen.

I personally choose to look at the new forums as a great new opportunity, we can help to shape them how we want them, they take notice of all our suggestions/comments even the negative ones (something some people here seem to forget!). The key to this though is patience. The forums were never going to be perfect off the bat, think of it in terms of a computer game, they have spent 6-12 months building the forums, doing the "alpha" testing etc etc, now they have launched the site and the next week or so is the "beta" testing, you are expected to find the bugs/glitches/errors/problems/things you don't like etc etc etc and report them back to the admin. Over the next few weeks they will iron out the kinks, address the issues we have raised and eventually in a few weeks to a months time the forums will be in (hopefully) perfect working order, with lots more things to do that will only help build the community.

Seriously, take a chill pill, relax and watch how things unfold. Enjoy the new surroundings, and get used to them, they are our new home.

I*takes aim and starts to shoot at people that suggest the we should take a vote on bringing back the old forums ...

I miss the old forums, but I have to admit that these are much more practical and legitimate if you ask me.

Also the polls look much nicer now. Smile [:)]

EDIT: BTW is it just me or is it impossible to copy or cut anything from your reply window? Surprise [:O]

Don't blame me, I didn't force you to register Paranoid [:Paranoid:].

Anyway, I agree the BW2 fanfics were a loss. What happened to the threads, anyway? Did they just get deleted? What about new fanfics now, do they get posted in ordinary BW2?

Whilst I'm on that, how do you differenciate between a BW1 and a BW2 fanfic? Lots have things from both, and lots have things from neither.

Sam, answering all my questions is going to cost more than the bandwith you saved Cheeky [:cheeky:].

I didn't like the new design at first, but now it's kind of grown on me. I like the look of the new forums, and some of the little features added in are pretty cool. The ability to see peoples rep and join date is neat. The clutter doesn't bother me anymore. I won't have a problem adjusting to the new forums.

Re: The New Community Site: Feedback

I definately like the font options and I noticed they improved sig/avatar sizes; bigger possiblities.... *looks at sig*

....there's a few things I don't like, like I said before, but it's not all that bad like some people are saying. Just give it a try, I remembered hating broccoli as a kid, but I got use to it................eventually Hmm [^o)]

Edit: I remembered asking for a bright background for the new forum, but didn't actually think it would be this bright *gets blinded*
