I'm always learning more about programming in DirectX. I have some updates in the works for the Texture Manager, including the fixes for BiggsTrek's issue. Among the updates will be some much-needed improvements to the texture layering functionality. There's a lot of common code between it and the upcoming AA-Prop Maker, however, so it'll be some time before that is released.
The last entry on my blog mentioned a "chooser interface for costumes, heads, and hair styles". Here's a peek at what I meant by that:

Click on the little clothes hanger icon, and it pops up with a dialog
box used to visually choose the costume. It highlights the current
choice (I'll probably change the colour there). There will be similar
dialog boxes for choosing hair styles, generic heads, and Starmakers.
