**PRODUCTION UPDATE**

Here are some pictures I've had floating around, from when I began work on the First episode:



The original starbase that was going to be used, continuing the style from season 1.  Props are from Rik Vargard's Near future pack and the alien ship by Styvndysn.  The new version seen in the movie, will hopefully be getting a retexture soon.



A half corridor segment for the Destiny's interior, this was inspired by Ubernewbie's work on Enigma.  This version includes a computer terminal/information panel, there is also a blank wall and a window versions.  The promo movie also includes the full 'arch' versions.



An early opening shot from the Episode 'Memories',  Captain Riley has seen better days.  To keep with continuity with season 1, the uniform does not include the E.D.S. label.



A small retexture,  Trivia: Thomas Riley was never enthusiastic about the medal, which is why he never wore it and ultimately was left on display, eventually ending up in Jennifer Lane's Quarters.

Okay I had plans for a different production update but I'm tired, and for now anything Destiny related is centred around CASTING, so no piccies today.

Although I had narrowed the roles that needed filling down to one, I've since lost contact with two other VA's,  One I'm sure I know why, the other not so sure.

Once I get organised again and clear on what roles need to be filled. I'll be searching for some replacements, PM's, casting call, etc.  If anyone is interested Voice acting in the series drop me a line.

About time for an update me thinks.

Casting is just about sorted so here's the current cast list for Episode 1:

Jenniza and Cruise1970 are also cast but won't appear until Episode 2.  Hopefully they're still around when I begin producing it.

A retexture of the station seen in the promo movie, I doubt this will be final but there you go.



The Destiny is docked with a nice view of a moon.  I've always had this shot in mind, it gives you something else to look at.



This robot retexture is designed to make them more generic looking.  I'm not to satisfied with this, The body will probably get a less 'scratched' texture.



Captain Mark Strider doing some jobs for the Admiral.  This shot uses, one of CraZRick's sets (8eyedbaby.com), Which I'm using for the space station interior.

Sunrise Studio Pictures Website ~Temporary Night Production Thread

The past couple of days I've been trying to organise an update with screenies for you all. Instead of got some series backstory.

I will first apologise for the length of this post, hopefully it shouldn't be two hard on the eye ,
It is all pretty much back story so its not totally necessary but does provide some backing to the series.

Pre-Season 1 History

In the 22nd century, in the year 2130 a breakthrough was made in propulsion that would revolutionise space travel and bring heightened interest.  The new system was dubbed the Slipdrive.

Technical note:  The name of the slipdrive is derived from the Slipstream, a name given to the area 'outside' normal space.  The system works similar to that of wormholes.  A wormhole allows you to enter or exit the slipstream and the slipstream itself reduces the journey time between star systems significantly.


In 2140 our first colony ships left Earth to colonise other worlds and spread our seed among the stars.  This in itself set in motion a political reform, if we will have other worlds we will have an Empire and an Empire needs a firm foundation a central command.  Earth would need to be ready for that. A worldwide government was established an expanded form of the United Nations if you will

Political System: The Structure of the everyday country governments hasn't really changed except they work more like Political Parties when included in the United Earth Government policies.  There is a president of the U.E.G. who works on the advice given by his ministers.  Directly beneath him is the Prime Minister, whose role is to act as second to the president and give the ministers 'one voice' when speaking to the President.


The Elections in 2154 saw a Richard Lexington as candidate for Prime Minister, he was a great speaker and with that he won the elections, but the stability he promised never came.  A year later The U.E.G. had split with countries either under the President's or the Prime Minister's 'Control'.  The whole thing escalated into a war that although short was devastating. This man would come to be known as Draco.

The turning point in the war came about when a convoy carrying Draco as a passenger was bombed forcing them to travel on foot.  A squad from the President's armed forces was dispatched to finish the job.  One man came back from the battle that ensued and his name was Thomas Riley.

Character Note:  Thomas Riley would receive a medal for his success in dispatching Draco and effectively brought an early end to the war.  However Riley never believed he had done the right thing, many died in that fight and as such has never been seen wearing the medal.


By 2165 we had established contact with our colonies and established the Earth Defense Fleet,  The fleet Patrols and protects our borders whilst also investigating the unknown.

Season 1 begins with the launch of the Destiny in 2165.

No filming update today just some mod shots:



An incomplete mod for the Hotel bedroom (soon to be Space station Quarters), I've used Rik Vargards near future bedroom as a template. And the Walls come from CraZRick's corridor. The reason, so I have continuity between rooms on the station.
Oh and spot the cameos.



A much more finalised version of the Robot from a couple of posts ago, less scratched and I've added some trim to make it look a bit more interesting.



An experiment I've been working on using Costume Editor. I've added an armband option to allow them to be worn to signify the specialty a crew member may have. Most likely to be used on 'field' work.


Note:  Ensign is actually a Junior Officer, but its borderline so it has a green tunic.

One of the more trivial updates, but I've been wanting to have the ranks more or less set in stone.  I've been researching real-life ranks and have produced this set. Which means, can organise uniforms.  I'm working on some Rank textures to go with them.
